Aunque gran parte de los libros de poesía traducida en Argentina y el resto de América Latina se editan actualmente de manera bilingüe, no existe un estudio que analice esta práctica editorial de ...forma integral en Argentina ni en otros países hispanohablantes. Este trabajo tiene como objetivo caracterizar el formato bilingüe de poesía contemporánea a partir de hipótesis teóricas sobre su función y sus efectos posibles en la publicación y la lectura de poesía traducida, y contrastar estas hipótesis con una perspectiva histórica del surgimiento y la evolución de esta práctica en el sector editorial argentino. Para ello, se establece un corpus a partir del relevamiento de los catálogos de bibliotecas públicas, de catálogos editoriales y consultas a editoriales particulares, que permite identificar el surgimiento de este formato en los años treinta con las traducciones de Langston Hughes por Jorge Luis Borges y Le cimetière marin de Paul Valéry por Néstor Ibarra, para luego consolidarse en Sur y otras revistas. Las publicaciones en este formato fueron en aumento, hasta que en el siglo xxi hubo una explosión de editoriales independientes que trajo consigo su mayor expansión. El estudio de un solo espacio editorial no permite arribar a conclusiones definitivas, pero es posible plantear que el significado de la edición bilingüe, originalmente asociado al cotejo, cambió con el paso del tiempo, y que la visibilización del texto extranjero en este formato tiene hoy en día un valor intrínseco.

number of versions of his poetry and theatre in Italy, this article analyses the most recent
bilingual edition (prepared ...by Enrico Di Pastena, Pisa, ETS, 2019) of Lorca’s last tragedy,
La casa de Bernarda Alba, written in 1936 and staged for the first time on March 8th, 1945
in Buenos Aires. This work is Lorca’s dramatic masterpiece and the most translated and
staged among his plays, even in Italy, where Amedeo Recanati translated it for the first
time in 1946. Di Pastena’s edition is considered as regards its effective translation, the
study of its main topics and the accurate description of a good number of its European
performances (particularly in Spain and Italy) from the forties onwards.

Capolavoro indiscusso del teatro di García Lorca, l’opera è la più tradotta e messa in scena tra le sue pièces, anche in Italia, dove per primo la restituì nella nostra lingua Amedeo Recanati, nel 1946. L’edizione di Di Pastena, accompagnata da un esaustivo apparato esegetico, viene qui analizzata per quanto riguarda l’efficace traduzione, la brillante disamina dei temi e motivi principali di questo cupo dramma della prigionia e dell’intransigenza, e l’accurata ricostruzione di un buon numero di suoi allestimenti scenici, dagli anni Quaranta a oggi, sui palcoscenici europei, in particolare spagnoli e italiani.

The Southern Star/La Estrella del Sur, primer periódico uruguayo, fue fundado durante las “Invasiones Inglesas” y duró de mayo a julio de 1807. Tenía formato bilingüe inglés-español y no era dirigido ...de manera explícita por los invasores. Este trabajo analiza la naturaleza bilingüe del periódico y la relación de las operaciones de traducción, entendida aquí como transediting, con los condicionamientos mediáticos y materiales del órgano de prensa: colaboraciones, formato y características ortotipográficas. Teniendo en cuenta que el periódico no era dirigido necesariamente a un lector que leyera en los dos idiomas, se busca determinar hasta qué punto el inglés y el español funcionan como dos dominios independientes, al tiempo que la dimensión material de la página impresa los aúna. De esta forma, buscamos demostrar que el aparente descuido y la omisión de fragmentos literarios en la traducción del inglés al español responde a una línea editorial consciente de la importancia de la traducción, y que la omisión es consecuencia de una figuración específica del lector en español. Para desarrollar esto, en el artículo primero se discuten los antecedentes críticos sobre el bilingüismo y sobre la traducción en este periódico; luego, se las características generales de la relación que establece el bilingüismo, para finalmente analizar las estrategias de traducción en las citas literarias, la red de colaboradores, sobre todo en poesía, y el metadiscurso acerca de la traducción en fragmentos del texto periodístico.

"Tristan Corbière is a poet who tests language to the limits, dislocating normal syntax, revelling in self-contradictory affirmations, and piling up puns. Born in Brittany in 1845, he died at only ...29, leaving to future readers a scattered assortment of texts.
