Quality management in the library is related to quality control of the library's work to meet user expectations and contributes to the continued success of the organization. However, quality control ...is lacking and not be the main focus in many libraries. This paper aims to explain how quality management improves work results in libraries. The research method used in this paper is qualitative research using a case study method. We conduct research in Library X that already underwent quality control in book processing activities. The data were collected through observation, and interviews for book processing activities and its quality control data during 2018-2020. The data was then analyzed document analysis. The study found that Library X could perform better by improving the quality of book processing and fixing the error just before they put the book on its shelves. Quality control gives a comprehensive evaluation in Library X either for humans, processes, and systems of book processing activities that help Library X conduct its duty to provide their user needs and expectations. Quality control and quality management also help Library X describe the library working atmosphere and can be used for giving motivation to all librarians and staff to give better service and performance for the end-users.
At the beginning of the 1940s, František Křelina turned his attention to historical materials. With the example of the historical novel Dcera královská (Daughter of the King), the study shows the ...possibilities and conditions for publishing prose for politically inconvenient writers both during the Second World War and after 1948. The study is based on previously unpublished archival materials stored in the Literature Archive of the Museum of Czech Literature and presents a new and deeper insight into publishing practice and Křelina’s work. At the same time, it corrects certain inaccuracies in the bibliography of František Křelina.
The article, taking its cue from the title of a book by Rossella Dini Il parente povero della catalogazione (The poor relative of cataloguing), is intended to be a reflection on the positioning of ...the cataloguing activity in relation to the other activities of the library, and a reflection on what cataloguing is, or we would like it to be. A quick reconnaissance of the definitions of cataloguing and the changes in cataloguing tout court is followed by a wider-ranging analysis of the question of the role and positioning of catalographic activity in contemporary librarianship.
The article presents in detail the data on the annual increment of bibliographic records in 2021 at annual and monthly levels. The analysis includes 177,705 bibliographic records created by 543 ...cataloguers. In the last quarter of the year, 28 % of bibliographic records were created. Most records, i.e. 1,015 records, were created on Tuesday, 9 February 2021, Tuesdays are also the most productive days in the year. The fewest records were created in August. When referring to the type of records, the multiannual trend continues also in 2021: most records were created for monographs (50.1%) and component parts (40.3%). The data on records downloaded from other databases and the data on the annual increment of authority records for personal names and for corporate body names in the CONOR.SI database is included. The results show how important the work of cataloguers in the COBISS system is. In addition to seasonal trends, the impact of implementing the preventative measures for covid-19 can be observed.

After more than two years of intensive preparation, the international standard RDA ...was implemented and the practical work has now started. The article describes the project in terms of the political and organizational situation in the three countries, and points out the objectives which have been achieved as well as the work which is still outstanding. An overview is given of the initial efforts to align special materials with RDA in the German-speaking countries, and the tasks associated with the specific requirements arising from the multilingual nature of Switzerland are described. Furthermore, the article reports on the current strategic developments in the international RDA committees like the RDA Steering Committee (RSC) and the European RDA Interest Group (EURIG).

RDA appears to be an hybrid standard: a list containing a high number of bibliographic elements and a rewrite - more formal than substantial - of cataloguing practices established with AACR2. In this ...document, RDA guidelines are analysed trying to compare them to the requirements of good cataloguing rules. Cataloguing rules in general shold not be an abstract and self-referential model but an effective tool to analyse and represent cultural phenomena, useful to qualified staff and helpful in learning about users need. From this point of view, RDA is quite disappointing: many relevant and frequent cataloguing issues are not mentioned at all, and cataloguing itself is left without real guidelines. A certain number of omissions, mistakes and individual flawness in the text should be modified by RDA board with a deep analysis of real cataloguing activities.
