Being able to communicate can play an important role in achieving the desired goals in today’s world. This study investigated the interrelationships between communication apprehension (CA), privacy ...preferences (Pr), L2 WTC, and foreign language achievement (FLA) of learners as an indicator of their communication ability. Besides, the differences between males and females regarding these variables were examined. To this end, we administered three questionnaires to 250 English learners. Pearson’s correlation, t-test, and Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) were employed to analyze the data. The findings revealed that CA has a significant negative relationship with FLA. Considering Pr, FLA had a significant negative relationship with Anonymity. WTC and its subscales demonstrated a significant positive association with FLA. The results of the SEM denoted that CA is a negative predictor of L2 WTC, and FLA; L2 WTC positively predicted FLA; and privacy preferences neither predicted L2 WTC nor FLA. Regarding gender, the results indicated that males had a higher level of preference for Intimacy with Friends, WTW, and WTC.
The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of parenting training strategies and level of education on mother’s communication ability to children aged 4-5 years. The study used an ...experimental method with a 2x2 factorial design. The study sample was 34 mothers who had early childhood in DKI Jakarta Non-Formal Early Childhood Education. Parenting strategies for Problem Based Learning (PBL) and Experiential Learning (EL) training were carried out eight times in 90 minutes each meeting for two months. Higher education level that is high school. Low levels of education are the junior and elementary school. The results showed that the communication ability of parenting trainees in PBL strategies were higher than those of EL parenting strategy participants. There was an interaction effect between parenting training strategies and education level on mother’s communication ability. Communication ability of highly educated mothers were better through parenting PBL strategies and communication ability of low-educated mothers are better if they take part in EL parenting training. This study suggests that choice of a parenting training strategy needs to be adjusted to the level of education to produce good communication ability.
Vocabulary growth predicts communication ability and communication without vocabulary is impossible. The study was done among 50 EFL learners to examine the effect of music-based instruction on their ...vocabulary retention and attitudes. They were divided into experimental and control groups. First, a pre-test was conducted to fulfill the homogeneity assumption. Then, the photo dictionary part of the “English for Schools Prospect 1” book was set to music and the experimental group underwent music-based practices. While the control group received audio-visual instruction. Immediately after the instructions, a 20-item test was given to the groups. Subsequently, a 9-item attitude scale was distributed among the teacher, observer, and groups. After two weeks, a long-term memory test was conducted between the two groups. Results presented that the experimental group significantly outscored in the short- and long-term memory tests compared with the control group. Moreover, results from the attitude scale indicated that they welcomed music-based instruction allowing more profound vocabulary learning and communication ability than the audio-visual practices.
Communication skills are an essential aspect that students need to possess by students who want to succeed in their studies, where students' mathematical communication can organize mathematical ...thinking both orally and in writing. While AQ is intelligent in facing difficulties, a student must face the problems that exist in them. This study aims to determine the profile of prospective mathematics prospective teacher's mathematical communication skills in terms of adversity quotient. This study was conducted on mathematics education students in the 6th semester of Universitas PGRI Semarang. This research is a descriptive qualitative study. Subjects taken from 57 respondents were three students in the category of climbers, campers, and quitters. Written tests and interviews do data collection. Indicators of mathematical communication skills used in this study include drawing, writing, and mathematical expression. The results showed that the subject climber can meet all the indicators of mathematical communication skills and can be said to be good. Subject campers tend to meet all indicators of mathematical communication skills, have the power of communication in indicators drawing, and be quite useful. Quitter's subject tends not to meet all the communication indicators. The subject does not answer the drawing indicator's problem, and the writing and mathematical expression indicators are still wrong.
The study goal was to validate the Observer-Reported Communication Ability (ORCA) measure for use with females with Rett Syndrome (RTT).
Qualitative interviews, including concept elicitation and ...cognitive interviewing methods, were conducted with 19 caregivers of individuals with RTT ages 2 and older. A quantitative study was then conducted in 279 caregivers to evaluate construct validity and reliability.
After minor modifications were made, the modified ORCA measure was well understood and captured key communication concepts. Quantitative data showed evidence for reliable scores (α = 0.90, test-retest intraclass correlation = 0.88), minimal floor and no ceiling effects, and strong correlation with the Communication and Symbolic Behaviors Scale (r = 0.73).
This study provided initial support that the modified ORCA measure is an acceptable caregiver-reported measure of communication ability for females with RTT. Future work should include evaluation of longitudinal validity of the measure and its associations with clinician- and performance-based measures in diverse samples.

To preliminarily explore the applicable scenarios of an intraoral camera to assist oral anatomical landmarks recognition, so as to improve the clinical diagnosis and treatment mode, cultivate the ...concept of caring for patients, strengthen doctor-patient communication, assist experts to teach, and improve the clinical diagnosis and efficacy rate.
A new type of an intraoral camera was applied in the recognition of oral anatomy landmarks and four application scenarios were developed, namely: (1) clinical diagnosis and treatment scenarios, in which doctors used intraoral camera to conduct a comprehensive examination of patients in the mouth and take videos and photos; (2) doctor-patient communication scenarios, when the doctor told the patient about the treatment plan, the video or photo taken by the intraoral camera was displayed to the patient; (3) expert teaching scenarios, when the expert used an intraoral camera to teach in the patient's mouth, and the young doctor learned oral anatomical signs on the projec
Aims
To develop the Nurse's Communication Ability with Angry Patients Scale (NCAAPS) and evaluate its psychometric properties.
Design
An instrument development and validation study.
Methods
The ...survey was administered to 501 nurses from different emergency departments in China between 2 August 2019 and 3 October 2019. Data from 456 completed questionnaires were analysed to identify the factor structure of the NCAAPS.
Results
The content validity index was satisfactory. Four factors were included and 71.25% of the total variance was explained by 19 items in NCAAPS. Confirmatory factor analysis supported the four‐factor structure. Cronbach's α coefficient was 0.96 for the overall scale and 0.81–0.92 for its subscales. Test–retest reliability was 0.740.
Conclusion
We consider the NCAAPS to be a useful tool for measuring the ability of nurses to communicate with angry patients.
Impact
It is anticipated that this new scale will help educators to identify specific areas of deficiency that could be targeted with training to improve the ability of nursing staff to communicate with angry patients.
