Цель. Изучить проявления взаимоотношений монокулярного и бинокулярного механизмов пространственного восприятия до и после функционального лечения у детей с послеоперационной остаточной ...микродевиацией. Материал и методы. Под наблюдением находилось 30 детей в возрасте от 8 до 16 лет (в среднем 12,5 лет) с послеоперационной остаточной микродевиацией (ОМ) и 44 ребенка контрольной группы того же возраста (в среднем 10,6 года). Наряду с обычным офтальмологическим обследованием, для оценки бинокулярных функций у всех детей использовали тест Баголини, Lang-тест и Fly-тест. Для исследования стереокинетического эффекта (СЭ) использовали кольцевое изображение диаметром 20 см с эксцентриситетом (отношением смещения центрального элемента кольцевого изображения от центра вращения к радиусу изображения) 0,4, вращающееся на экране ноутбука со скоростью 60 об/мин. Соответствующая компьютерная программа была разработана М.В. Жмуровым. Расстояние от глаз до изображения составляло 3 м. Задачей испытуемого было оценить величину виртуального конуса или виртуальной воронки в бинокулярных и в монокулярных условиях наблюдения. Для облегчения оценок величины СЭ использовали семь эталонных бумажных конусов с диаметром основания 20 см и высотой 5, 10, 15, 20, 25, 30 и 35 см. Испытуемый должен был указать бумажный конус, наиболее близкий по величине к виртуальному конусу или виртуальной воронке. Отмечали также время доминирования у испытуемого виртуального конуса и виртуальной воронки при их чередовании (в секундах за 1 мин) и затем вычисляли средние значения времени доминирования того и другого варианта виртуальной фигуры. Исследование зрительных функций и СЭ у детей с ОМ проводили до и после курса функционального лечения, предусматривающего предъявление стереостимулов в режиме альтернирования при помощи компьютерной программы, разработанной также М.В. Жмуровым. Использовали три разных режима альтернирующего предъявления стимулов: 1) с последовательным монокулярным предъявлением зрительных стимулов, соответствующих правому и левому глазу; 2) с наличием пустого интервала между монокулярными фазами; 3) с наличием бинокулярной фазы между монокулярными фазами. Результаты. У всех детей с ОМ результаты исследования стереозрения с Lang-тестом, Fly-тестом были отрицательными. После проведенного функционального лечения у 24 детей выявлялся устойчивый бинокулярный характер зрения, результаты исследования с Fly-тестом после лечения стали положительными у 20 детей, а с Lang-тестом - у пяти детей. Ортотропия была достигнута у 24 детей. Острота зрения хуже видящего глаза в результате лечения повысилась в среднем с 0,74±0,03 до 0,91±0,01. Количество детей с ОМ, воспринимающих СЭ в виде чередующихся виртуальных фигур (конуса и воронки), в результате лечения увеличивалось с 50 до 83,3%. Время доминирования виртуального конуса у детей с ОМ достоверно уменьшилось (р<0,01) после лечения как в монокулярных условиях наблюдения (в среднем с 2,9±0,2 до 2,3±0,1 с), так и в бинокулярных условиях (в среднем с 3,6 ±0,2 до 3±0,1 с), достигнув значений контрольной группы. В результате лечения детей с ОМ среднее значение высоты виртуального конуса для бинокулярных условий наблюдения снизилось с 21,3±1,2 до 16,8±0,9 см и стало достоверно ниже (р<0,001) по сравнению как со средними значениями до лечения, так и со средними значениями в контрольной группе. После лечения среднее значение величины виртуальной воронки для бинокулярных условий снизилось с 19±1,1 до 13,1±0,7 см и стало достоверно ниже по сравнению как со значениями, полученными до лечения (р<0,001), так и в контрольной группе (р<0,05). Заключение. В результате использования альтернирующего предъявления стереостимулов в функциональном лечении детей с ОМ наблюдается положительная динамика: уменьшение или устранение угла косоглазия, повышение остроты зрения, увеличение количества пациентов с устойчивым бифовеальным слиянием и появление у них стереозрения по результатам Fly-теста, а в некоторых случаях и по результатам Lang-теста. Количество детей с ОМ, воспринимающих СЭ в виде чередующихся виртуальных фигур (конуса и воронки), увеличивается в результате лечения. Время доминирования виртуального конуса у детей с ОМ достоверно уменьшается после лечения, достигая значений, полученных у детей контрольной группы. Среднее значение оценки высоты виртуального конуса для бинокулярных условий наблюдения у детей с ОМ достоверно снижается после лечения до значений меньших, чем в контрольной группе, а для монокулярных условий наблюдения - повышается до значений, сопоставимых с результатами в контрольной группе. Среднее значение оценки величины виртуальной воронки для бинокулярных условий наблюдения у детей с ОМ достоверно уменьшается после лечения как по сравнению со значениями, полученными до лечения, т ак и полученными в контрольной группе. Таким образом, изменения показателей взаимоотношений монокулярного и бинокулярного механизмов пространственного восприятия могут служить дополнительными критериями оценки эффективности функционального лечения пациентов с ОМ.

Although the teaching of programming has evolved over 50 years, all methodologies rely on a simple structure that was born a long time ago: the loop, shared by all high-level programming languages, ...and the preferred choice for any repetitive task programmers face. We analyze here how "loops" skew the way programmers solve problems, and prevent them from taking advantage of the available parallel/distributed computing architectures. To do so, we state our initial hypothesis: eliminating loops will allow a more natural parallel programming approach. The idea is to mimic a common practice today that was established in the past for a different purpose: prohibiting goto statements to improve code maintainability. This paper describes a new computer programming teaching strategy that we tested for 7 years and provides evidence on how loop prohibition, in the context of Functional Programming, makes students aware of data dependencies and produces 21st-century programmers who benefit from widely available parallel architectures.
Hybrid physics-machine learning models are increasingly being used in simulations of transport processes. Many complex multiphysics systems relevant to scientific and engineering applications include ...multiple spatiotemporal scales and comprise a multifidelity problem sharing an interface between various formulations or heterogeneous computational entities. To this end, we present a robust hybrid analysis and modeling approach combining a physics-based full order model (FOM) and a data-driven reduced order model (ROM) to form the building blocks of an integrated approach among mixed fidelity descriptions toward predictive digital twin technologies. At the interface, we introduce a long short-term memory network to bridge these high and low-fidelity models in various forms of interfacial error correction or prolongation. The proposed interface learning approaches are tested as a new way to address ROM-FOM coupling problems solving nonlinear advection-diffusion flow situations with a bifidelity setup that captures the essence of a broad class of transport processes.
The correction of exercises in programming courses is a laborious task that has traditionally been performed in a manual way. This situation, in turn, delays the access by students to feedback that ...can contribute significantly to their training as future professionals. Over the years, several approaches have been proposed to automate the assessment of students' programs. Static analysis is a known technique that can partially simulate the process of manual code review performed by lecturers. As such, it is a plausible option to assess whether students' solutions meet the requirements imposed on the assignments. However, implementing a personalized analysis beyond the rules included in existing tools may be a complex task for the lecturer without a mechanism that guides the work. In this paper, we present a method to provide automated and specific feedback to immediately inform students about their mistakes in programming courses. To that end, we developed the CAC++ library, which enables constructing tailored static analysis programs for C/C++ practices. The library allows for great flexibility and personalization of verifications to adjust them to each particular task, overcoming the limitations of most of the existing assessment tools. Our approach to providing specific feedback has been evaluated for a period of three academic years in a course related to object‐oriented programming. The library allowed lecturers to reduce the size of the static analysis programs developed for this course. During this period, the academic results improved and undergraduates positively valued the aid offered when undertaking the implementation of assignments.

Social media data is widely analyzed in computational social science. Twitter, one of the largest social media platforms, is used for research, journalism, business, and government to analyze human ...behavior at scale. Twitter offers data via three different Application Programming Interfaces (APIs). One of which, Twitter’s Sample API, provides a freely available 1% and a costly 10% sample of all Tweets. These data are supposedly random samples of all platform activity. However, we demonstrate that, due to the nature of Twitter’s sampling mechanism, it is possible to deliberately influence these samples, the extent and content of any topic, and consequently to manipulate the analyses of researchers, journalists, as well as market and political analysts trusting these data sources. Our analysis also reveals that technical artifacts can accidentally skew Twitter’s samples. Samples should therefore not be regarded as random. Our findings illustrate the critical limitations and general issues of big data sampling, especially in the context of proprietary data and undisclosed details about data handling.
The purpose of the three-day 2023 3rd International Conference on Electronic Communication, Computer Science and Technology (ECCST 2023), held via hybrid form on September 15th to 17th, 2023 in ...Shanghai, China, was to create a timely forum for multi-disciplinary discussions related to the recent developments on electronic communication, computer science and technology.As usual, the program of the meeting mainly consisted of keynote speeches, oral presentations and poster presentations, with the former including speeches delivered by six sophisticated professors from different countries and regions. The keynote speeches covered six main topics, including the one Network AI: Enabling 6G Pervasive Intelligence given by Prof. Yang Yang (The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (Guangzhou), China). In this presentation, he first coined the concept of Service Requirement Zone (SRZ) on the user side to characterize and visualize the integrated service requirements and preferences of specific tasks of individual users. Then, he proposed a network Artificial Intelligence (AI) architecture with integrated network resources and pervasive AI capabilities for supporting customized services with guaranteed QoEs. Finally, extensive simulations show that the proposed network AI architecture can consistently offer a higher USR performance than the cloud AI and edge AI architectures with respect to different task scheduling algorithms, random service requirements, and dynamic network conditions.In the framework of experimental and theoretical approaches, the Conference gathered about 80 delegates from all over the world and addressed a number of highly relevant aspects of electronic communication, computer science and technology. Covering Nonlinear Circuits and Systems, Low Power Design and VLSI Physical Design, Electromagnetic Compatibility, Computer and Data Communication, Computer Programming, etc., the selected contributions of this special issue provide guidance for future interdisciplinary developments. In this way, the multi-scale aspects of electronic communication, computer science and technology should be considered.We received various manuscripts of invited papers and contributions presented at the Conference. All of these have been peer reviewed and are collected in this volume.
