There are huge amounts of User Generated Contents (UGCs) consisting of authors’ articles of different themes and readers’ on-line comments on social networks every day. Generally, an article often ...gives rise to thousands of readers’ comments, which are related to specific points of the originally published article or previous comments. Hence it has suggested the urgent need for automated methods to implement the content linking task, which can also help other related applications, such as information retrieval, summarization and content management. So far content linking is still a relatively new issue. Because of the unsatisfactory of traditional ways based on feature extraction, we look forward to using deeper textual semantic analysis. The Word Embedding model based on deep learning has performed well in Natural Language Processing (NLP), especially in mining deep semantic information recently. Therefore, we study further on the Word Embedding model trained by different neural network models from which we can learn the structure, principles and training ways of the neural network language model in more depth to complete deep semantic feature extraction. With the aid of the semantic features, we expect to do further research on content linking between comments and their original articles from social networks, and finally verify the validity of the proposed method by comparison with traditional ways based on feature extraction.
Content Linking(CL) is a new task in natural language processing(NLP) recently. In this paper, CL is regarded as a binary classification task using neural networks. The input is the feature of the ...sentence pair, while the output is their association. Word embedding is the most popular text feature representations. However, its dimensionality would be large, and simply stitching the word embedding features of two words couldn't contain the relationship between them. We propose a new text feature named Word2vec_V_I by Principal Component Analysis (PCA) and similarity calculation. Furthermore, a content linking method based on CNN and Word2vec_V_I is designed and implemented. Experiments on CL-SciSumm 2018 dataset verify the effectiveness of this method.
Second-degree accelerated nursing programs provide an expedited pathway to enter the nursing profession. Most students in such programs are adult learners with high expectations for their own ...performance and equally high expectations for the curriculum of the chosen program. Clinical and academic immersions are curriculum strategies that are particularly suited to the adult learner in a second-degree accelerated program. This article discusses the development of an accelerated program, with a focus on the intended and unexpected challenges and outcomes associated with planning and implementing immersion learning for academic and clinical experiences. Content linkage as a teaching strategy is also described. The immersion year enhances collaboration and socialization among students, faculty, and staff nurses.
Although the volume of online educational resources has dramatically increased in recent years, many of these resources are isolated and distributed in diverse websites and databases. This hinders ...the discovery and overall usage of online educational resources. By using linking between related subsections of online textbooks as a testbed, this paper explores multiple knowledge-based content linking algorithms for connecting online educational resources. We focus on examining semantic-based methods for identifying important knowledge components in textbooks and their usefulness in linking book subsections. To overcome the data sparsity in representing textbook content, we evaluated the utility of external corpuses, such as more textbooks or other online educational resources in the same domain. Our results show that semantic modeling can be integrated with a term-based approach for additional performance improvement, and that using extra textbooks significantly benefits semantic modeling. Similar results are obtained when we applied the same approach to other domains.

The content of many innovative Web sites today often originates from beyond the application. This paper is concerned with building Web applications that heavily integrate and link content from ...external sources, like e.g. Web services or RSS feeds. Unlike conventional applications, they are characterized by a very dynamic and distributed information space. In this context, traditional Web Engineering approaches suffer from the fact that they rely too much on a-priori knowledge of existing content structures. We present a support system and a method for building such applications in a very flexible way. Flexibility is achieved by managing links separately from the content in a dedicated Web service and by composing the application from fine-grained, reusable components that realize navigation, presentation, and interaction for the linked content.

As large collections of historically significant recorded speech become increasingly available, scholars are faced with the challenge of making sense of what they hear. This paper proposes ...automatically linking conversational speech to related resources as one way of supporting that sense-making task. Experiment results with transcribed conversations suggest that this kind of linking has promise for helping to contextualize recordings of detail-oriented conversations, and that simple sliding-window bag-of-words techniques can identify some useful links.

The Ambient Spotlight is a prototype system based on personal meeting capture using a laptop and a portable microphone array. The system automatically recognises and structures the meeting content ...using automatic speech recognition, topic segmentation and extractive summarisation. The recognised speech in the meeting is used to construct queries to automatically link meeting segments to other relevant material, both multimodal and textual. The interface to the system is constructed around a standard calendar interface, and it is integrated with the laptop's standard indexing, search and retrieval.

The success of many innovative Web applications is not based on the content they produce -- but on how they combine and link existing content. Older Web Engineering methods lack flexibility in a ...sense that they rely strongly on a-priori knowledge of existing content structures and do not take into account initially unknown content sources. We propose the adoption of principles that are also found in Component-based Software Engineering, to assemble highly extensible solutions from reusable artifacts. The main contribution of our work is a support system, consisting of a central service that manages n:m relationships between arbitrary Web resources, and of Web application components that realize navigation, presentation, and interaction for the linked content.
