Given the prolonged pandemic situation that forced schools to run online in both synchronous and asynchronous modes has impacted some changes in either teaching practice or conducting the ...assessment. With the limited timetable provided to each school subject, there is a significant adjustment that the teachers should take to make the teaching and learning meaningful, not to mention in assessing students’ learning. In the English as a Foreign Language (EFL) setting, assessing speaking is another challenge the teachers encounter specifically during online teaching. Consequently, English teachers are required to have specific strategies to manage this assessment still. Electronic portfolio-based assessment has been shown to serve both as an effective learning tool and assessment tool. Hence, this study was aimed to investigate the use of the Flipgrid as the electronic portfolio in assessing speaking. The qualitative design was applied in this study with students' scores, teacher’s field notes, and questionnaires as the instruments to collect data. This study was expected to describe the washback of the Flipgrid as electronic portfolios in speaking assessment.

This study performs a pilot validation of the Co-PIRS model., a co-design paradigm for integrating e-portfolios into learning environments and addressing students’ agency, organizing roles into four ...phases. This paper examines the model's effectiveness by exploring learners' satisfaction with the co-design approach, their evaluation of each Co-PIRS phase, and their suggestions for modifications, using an ad hoc questionnaire adaptation. The research utilizes a mixed-methods design, incorporating quantitative statistical analysis to explore students' satisfaction with multiple factors in the learning process, descriptive quantitative data about students' evaluation of each phase regarding coherence, adequacy, and clarity, and participants' qualitative feedback to refine the model. The results show that there is a positive correlation between students’ satisfaction, motivation, dedication, and evaluation, and there is a negative correlation between students’ satisfaction with teacher instruction clarity and the perceived usefulness of materials. Suggestions by students are mainly for eliminating tasks in each phase. The study offers a pilot validation of the model and reflects on the implications for educational research, policy-making and practices, which may further contribute to instructional design and educational innovation.
The research aims to investigate the effects of electronic portfolios (e-portfolios) on English as a foreign language (EFL) high school students’ writing ability, students’ and teachers’ attitudes ...towards the application of e-portfolios in writing classes at three high schools in Binh Duong province. The sample included 15 teachers and 300 twelfth graders at three high schools in Binh Duong province. Facebook was chosen as an e-portfolio platform where the students created and developed their personal e-portfolios. The data were collected both quantitatively and qualitatively through a mixed-method study using the tools of a pre-test, a post-test, a questionnaire (for students), and a semi-structured interview (for teachers in charge of the experimental classes). The survey results showed that e-portfolios considerably impact EFL high school students' writing ability. The results also revealed challenges and technological drawbacks concerning the use of e-portfolios in these classes. For the optimal application of e-portfolios in writing courses, recommendations were put forward to those who are in charge of the course and to those who are taking the course as well.
The challenges defined by expectations, directed towards learning contexts, require the construction of paths for the integral promotion of the personality; development of identity and coexistence ...skills, in the post-covid globalization society, thus become central elements of reflection for scholastic institutions and teachers. Being able to keep memory of development rhythms, skills achieved and knowledge gained becomes an element capable of proposing new research paths and construction of teaching practices. The portfolio, with its ability to analyze the evaluative action, can be a tool capable of representing the complexity of the learner's training process, indicating the pupil's self-assessment, inherent in this tool, as the method of verifying the effectiveness of the devices and didactic paths proposed. In this essay we then proceed to an examination of the reference theories and tools in use for the construction of the portfolio, with the proposition of an experience made of digital dossier, with the pupils of secondary school.
The aim of this research is to determine the effect of e-portfolio application on reflective thinking and learning motivation of primary school teacher candidates. The study group of the research ...consists of primary school teacher candidates studying in the 3rd year of the Faculty of Education of a state university in Ankara. In the research, a quasi-experimental design with pretest-posttest control group was used. Quantitative data of the study were collected using the Learning motivation scale, Reflective thinking scale and Performance tasks and independent samples t-test, two-factor ANOVA for mixed designs and Mann Whitney U-Test were used in the analysis of quantitative data. The qualitative data of the study were collected by applying a semi-structured interview form to the primary school teacher candidates in the experimental group through the interview technique. In addition, content analysis method was used in the analysis of qualitative data. When the results obtained from the research were examined, it was seen that there was a significant difference in favour of the experimental group in terms of reflective thinking post-test mean scores. Moreover, when the significance of the difference between the post-test mean scores in terms of learning motivation was examined, it was seen that there was a significant difference in favour of the experimental group. It was determined that there was a significant difference between the experimental and control groups in favour of the experimental group in terms of the performance tasks administered to the primary school teacher candidates. As a result, it was concluded that e-portfolio applications have a positive effect on reflective thinking, learning motivation and performance tasks of primary school teacher candidates.
Electronic portfolios have been hailed as a useful pedological tool on numerous grounds. One commonly cited justification is that portfolios deepen student learning and help students develop a ...professional identity. Whether electronic portfolios are used equally across programs and the degree to which they promote digital identities across student groups remains open to question. To fill this void in the research, in this study we explore the degree to which students from three majors (cybersecurity, leadership, and criminal justice) report using electronic portfolios, with a specific focus given to the reported strengths of electronic portfolios and the way the tool shaped digital identity development.
Problem statement . One of the priorities of the modern school is informatization and individualization of education. The implementation of these tasks can be facilitated by an electronic portfolio ...as a means for evaluating the individual educational results of students, optimizing work with information, and supporting the design of a non-linear structure for presenting materials in different formats. The research is aimed at studying the possibilities of an interactive multifunctional cloud portfolio for the individualization of education in a primary school. Methodology . Theoretical and methodological analysis and generalization of legal acts, literature on the application of information and communication technologies in education, processing of test results and electronic content of the portfolio are applied. Experimental work was carried out on the basis of Gymnasium No. 1 in Kirovo-Chepetsk. The experiment involved 52 students from grades 5-10 (girls - 52%, boys - 48%). Pearson’s chi-squared test for statistical data processing was used. Results . A model of an interactive multifunctional cloud portfolio has been developed for the individualization of education in a primary school. This model determines the structure of an interactive multifunctional cloud portfolio, including the sections “My individual educational route” (personal development of the student), “My lessons” (class activities), “My studios” (extracurricular activities), “My affairs” (educational work). The Google Classroom service was used to implement the model. Statistically significant differences in qualitative changes in the pedagogical system were revealed. Conclusion . The possibilities of an interactive multifunctional cloud portfolio for the individualization of education in a primary school are summarized: changing the nature of interaction between participants in educational relations; formation of universal educational activities, communication skills; personal development of students, etc.
•The study extends the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM).•Second-order factors (Technology, Organization, Environment), had significant and positive effects on EPMS adoption.•First-order factors of ...were significant to EPMS adoption.•Behavioral intention towards EPMS adoption has positive relationship with individual performance.•TAM, De Lone and McLean and TOE were good choice for EPMS adoption.
The Electronic Portfolio Management System (EPMS) is one such system, but despite its importance, its extensive adoption among institutions remains low because the end-user rejects its use. EPMS adoption in Technical and Vocational Training Corporation (TVTC). Hence, in the context of TVTC organizations, EPMS adoption needs an effective framework to highlight the factors influencing EPMS adoption and eventually positively affecting the employees’ performance. This study classified the factors into three dimensions (technological, organizational, and environmental) based on the level of interaction. With the help of the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM), De Lone and Mc Lean's IS model, and the Technology, Organization and Environment (TOE) model, this study developed and proposed a robust framework. The study used a quantitative approach in which copies of an online questionnaire were passed and distributed to 375 respondents in TVTC institutions. The analysis of the collected data was done using AMOS-SEM 3 statistical software. The finding revealed that technology, organization, and environment, which are second-order factors, had significant and positive effects on EPMS adoption. The results also supported a substantial relationship between EPMS adoption and the performance of employees (Academicians and Managerial), with the entire first-order factors comprising of technological factors, namely perceived usefulness, perceived ease of use, perceived information quality, perceived system quality, and perceived service quality, organizational factors, namely financial support, top management support and training, and environmental factors, namely cloud computing ability, government role, and big data facility were examined for their role in the adoption of EPMS among Saudi TVTC, and were and were found to be significant and accounted 43% of the variance in the EMPS adoption. At the same time, the EPMS adoption explains 39% of the variance extracted from employees’ performance. This study contributes theoretically by filling a gap in the literature and providing new validation for the TAM, De Lone and Mc Lean's IS model, and TOE. The practical value lies in giving the policy makers and decision makers essential information to adopt EPMS in less time and effort.
Abstract
Background
Nursing is a profession that has had many ethical aspects and understanding professional belonging and ethics as a deep and complex process is one of the basic concepts in this ...field. This study aimed to compare the effectiveness of training professional belonging and ethical behaviors in two methods: electronic portfolio and online discussion forum in nursing students.
Methods
This study is a single-blinded randomized-controlled trial (RCT) with two parallel intervention groups and a third control group. The sample size was 90 selected by block randomization method. The educational contents of professional belonging and ethical behaviors were presented to the participants in two ways: electronic portfolio and online discussion forum. Demographic information form, professional belonging questionnaire, and ethical behaviors questionnaire were applied to collect data. Data were analyzed using SPSS version 24 software. Respectively mean, standard deviation and repeated measured, analysis of variance tests was used in descriptive and analytic statistic. (
P
value < 0.05).
Results
Comparison of the mean score of professional belonging and ethical behavior in the three stages of pretest, immediately after the test and four weeks after the test in all three groups was significant (
P
< 0.001). The control group had a higher mean score of professional belonging immediately after the test (108.18 ± 48.9) compared to the other two groups. Also, the online discussion forum group had a higher mean score on ethical behavior in four weeks after the test (104.2 ± 0.8) compared to the other two groups.
Conclusion
Training based on two methods of the electronic portfolio and online discussion forum increases and enhances the level of ethical behaviors in students. Therefore, the implementation of such methods of training can be useful in improving, promoting, and learning ethical behaviors in nursing students. On the other hand, training based on the two methods had a negative impact on professional belonging. Therefore, it is suggested that future studies be conducted with a greater focus on areas of professional belonging.
