This paper, based on an interpretation of the Greek myth of Eros and Psyche, explores the feeling of love focusing on the notions of gaze and alterity. The core thesis is that erotic passion emerges ...primarily through the sense of sight: the gaze is directed towards the loved one and comes together with an impulse of union that is described as a desire for alterity.

Este trabajo propone una reflexión poética de la experiencia del eros en el entorno virtual. La misma se construye desde las palabras, los gestos y la imaginación, habitando un espacio en el que ...convergen todos los tiempos.
Known is the figure of Aphrodite (Venus among Latins), Greek goddess of love and beauty, one of the twelve great deities of the Olympic pantheon. She embodies the force and creative omnipotence of ...loving desire, to which all living beings are subject without distinction: humans, animals and even the gods themselves. Seductive, sometimes fearsome, is one of the fundamental forces of the world, as pointed out by the best-known tradition related to his birth: according to Hesiod, Aphrodite was born of Uranus, when his son Cronos, after mutilating him, threw his genitals into the sea. The seed of the castrated god fecundated the foam of the waves and in them engendered this goddess of radiant beauty, at whose passage the flowers were born. This story explains the meaning of his name because aphros means 'foam'. He maintained loving relationships with many gods, and also with mortals, although her husband, chosen by Zeus, was Hephaestus, the god of fire. From his love affair with Ares (the Mars of the Romans), god of war, was born Eros, the god of love. Eros (Cupid among the Romans), which symbolizes sensual desire, is the Greek god responsible for sexual attraction, love and sex, also revered as a god of fertility. According to Hesiod, it is one of the primordial forces born of Chaos. According to other versions, as we pointed out before, he is the son of Ares and Aphrodite. According to the myth that Plato's Banquet offers, Eros was conceived by Poros (the Resource) and Penía (Poverty) on the birthday of Aphrodite. Starting from the tradition initiated by Eratosthenes, Eros fundamentally governs love between men, while Aphrodite does it over love between men and women. In later images, he is shown as a mischievous child, often blindfolded, equipped with a bow and arrows that pierces the hearts of lovers. In this paper, we will investigate, although without pretension of exhaustiveness, the figures of Aphrodite and Eros in the most known or relevant mythical episodes of classical literature, in attention to two main lines of interpretation of both gods: those referring to speech amorous and / or erotic that arises around them and their actions and those related to the body and its characteristics.
The scaling of physical forces to the extremely low ambient gravitational acceleration regimes found on the surfaces of small asteroids is performed. Resulting from this, it is found that van der ...Waals cohesive forces between regolith grains on asteroid surfaces should be a dominant force and compete with particle weights and be greater, in general, than electrostatic and solar radiation pressure forces. Based on this scaling, we interpret previous experiments performed on cohesive powders in the terrestrial environment as being relevant for the understanding of processes on asteroid surfaces. The implications of these terrestrial experiments for interpreting observations of asteroid surfaces and macro-porosity are considered, and yield interpretations that differ from previously assumed processes for these environments. Based on this understanding, we propose a new model for the end state of small, rapidly rotating asteroids which allows them to be comprised of relatively fine regolith grains held together by van der Waals cohesive forces.
The heroines of Grigorije Božović's narrative prose are typified to maintain order within both the collective and the family. Their honorable and dignified needs and emotions are often subordinated ...to the collective good. Regardless of the dominant archetype of the mother and the housekeeper, the number of the female characters in which the archetype of a woman inspired by eros, a polyvalent and complex one, is recognized, is not negligible. This work aims to illustrate how Božović's heroines emerge unscathed, returning to canonized frameworks after navigating the struggles of Eros and Thanatos, how they are subject to the power of instinct, and how Eros is transformed into a religious archetype.
Dance with us, on the dance-floor and with words, as we reenact our individual and shared tango autoethnographic experiences to develop an understanding of field inter-corporeality as a ...phenomenological experience of nakedness empowered by the transformational potential of eros. We write as we dance to discuss how eroticizing through the other’s presence our embodied nakedness, beyond sexual stereotypes, pushes us to meta-reflect on ourselves as organizational ethnographers and writers to reinvent our field and writing interactions as inter-corporeally relational and intersubjective. We problematize the sexual gaze that traditionally associates nakedness with shame and objectified vulnerability to stress the capacity of eroticizing our academic nakedness to enable free, embodied knowledge stripped of the traits of the dominant masculine academic order. In so doing, we join burgeoning autoethnographic and broader debates in the field of organization studies calling for the need to further unveil the embodied, erotic, and feminine aspects of organizational research and writing. Shall we dance?
The wrestling fight between Eros and Pan evokes the conflicting relationships between the different facets of love. It also contributes to the conception of an all-powerful, tyrannical and childish ...Love. On Roman mosaics, the scene is often transposed from a mythological context to a palaestra environment, a place of play and rivalry par excellence. This article aims to understand the implications of this mix of genre, through the study of two mosaics in Lyon and Piazza Armerina. The playful fight between the two divinities becomes a parodic allegory (antagonism between animal desire and love, omnipotence of love, but also a parody of gymnasium eroticism and athletic wrestling).
