Avatars of the Storyteller in Le Petit Chaperon Uf by Jean-Claude Grumberg. Since the 17th century, when the story became part of the written literature thanks to Charles Perrault, the fairy-tale Le ...Petit Chaperon rouge represents an inexhaustible source of inspiration for all art creators. Over time, the renewal stakes of this canonical history changed and, during the 21st century, the heroine of the marvelous universe enters the theatre stage and inscribes the recreative approach of the tale in a contemporary art that puts together aesthetics and ethics. One of the authors who successfully managed to reconcile ancient and contemporary culture by transforming the canonical scheme of this tale is Jean-Claude Grumberg. Being a contemporary writer who finds the creative substance of his work in his childhood memories and in the painful experience of the deportation of the Jews, Grumberg wrote in 2005 the play Le Petit Chaperon Uf in order to tell the Shoah differently and to propose alternatives to a possible recurrence of evil. In his process of cultural and generic adaptation of the tale, the storyteller has an essential role. Our study aims to answer to two questions: ''why the storyteller is metamorphosing?'' and ''who is his avatar?'' in the play Le Petit Chaperon Uf. Playing an essential role in the process of transmitting the tale over time, nowadays, he becomes part of the performance and his voice merges with the voice of other participants in the action. The wolf-storyteller and the heroine-storyteller try, each in turn, to tell the tale in order to impose their own version of the great HisStory of humanity: the terrifying and monstrous, for the Nazi-wolf, and that of peace, for the little girl forced to wear the yellow hood. Keywords: fairy-tale, theatrical adaptation, hybridization, rewriting, contemporary literature.
The paper aims to develop a compare-contrast model that will help students understand the gender and social-status stereotypes that appear in some texts of fairy tales, and are further deepened in ...their screen versions. The paper accentuates classic fairy tales perceived by critics as traditional (conventional and conservative) due to their gender, class, etc. stereotypes. These stories are an important factor in maintaining the stereotypical pattern of female inferiority, which is encoded through different types of media in the cultural patterns of our age. In order for those patterns to be deconstructed, it is necessary to apply methods that will develop critical literacy skills during education. We developed story maps as graphic organisers to show the social status trajectories of heroes and heroines. Story maps show social trajectories and allow the possibility of viewing the stereotypes embedded in the story.

This study investigated the perceptions of Vietnamese tertiary-level English as a Foreign Language (EFL) teachers regarding the use of ChatGPT, an advanced artificial intelligence (AI) language ...model, in students’ fairy tale retelling writing tasks. Employing a qualitative methodology, the research involved semi-structured interviews with nine EFL teachers from two Vietnamese institutions representing a range of teaching experiences: novice, mid-career, and near-end-career. The technology acceptance model (TAM) and constructivist learning theory (CLT) framed the study, providing a dual perspective on technology integration in language education. The thematic analysis revealed a spectrum of challenges and opportunities in integrating ChatGPT into language teaching. Key challenges include concerns about over-reliance on AI, cultural and contextual misalignments, integration with existing teaching methods, language accuracy issues, impact on creativity, technical barriers, and ethical considerations. Conversely, opportunities identified encompass enhanced student engagement, personalized learning, professional development for teachers, improvement in language proficiency, reduction in teacher workload, encouragement of technological adoption, and fostering of critical thinking and creativity. The study suggests a need for balanced AI integration in language education, emphasizing personalized, interactive learning experiences and professional development for teachers.

This article examines three of Dario Argento’s supernatural horror films (Suspiria, Phenomena, and Dark Glasses) and their use of fairy tale imagery and narratives, which distinguishes them from ...murder-mystery-oriented giallo films. In them, Argento locates his characters, rather than in urban environments, in rural spaces (forests, fields, mountains) where the supernatural elements of their stories blossom. Suspiria represents a primarily aesthetic exploration of parallels between fairy tales and contemporary horror, while Phenomena uses these two modes to examine the conflict between the rational and irrational, the natural and the supernatural. Dark Glasses initially appears to be one of his more traditional gialli, but it abandons these tropes with a simplified plot evoking the story of “Little Red Riding Hood”; this shift is accomplished by moving the action of the film out of Rome and into the dark forests of the countryside. Dark Glasses, I argue, therefore represents a self-conscious move to unite in a single film the two major strands of Argento’s filmography and to expose some fundamental elements of his general cinematic approach—namely, the unique capacity of stylized aesthetics and irrational elements to convey the experience of very real, human terror and evil.
