The environment of water reserves is considered one of the environments full of life and a producer of sustainable materials in nature. It contains biological and ecological diversity of sunlight, ...fresh water and air. Many species of animals, birds, plants and fish spread and breed in it in addition to the local people who live in such environments. It is spread all over the world. An example of this environment is the so-called marshes environment in southern Iraq. Thousands of years ago, its local inhabitants have taken this environment as their home. They depend for their livelihood on the natural environmental materials available in this region, especially in building their homes and their simple furniture from reed material. As it constitutes the main ecological vital component of this region. In addition, it reflects its cultural and social heritage. However, the marshes region in southern Iraq lacks the employment of local materials in the design of furniture to achieve the ecological compatibility of this region. Therefore, this research seeks to find suitable sustainable solutions and designs for furniture in accordance with its environment. The aim of the research is to employ local raw materials in the marsh's region in southern Iraq in furniture in a sustainable way to achieve environmental compatibility in the vicinity of their presence, to preserve their heritage value. The research adopted the descriptive approach regarding the theoretical part, and for the purpose of obtaining accurate results in order to achieve the objectives of the research, the analytical method was adopted in describing the simple furniture that was included in the internal spaces of the reed house, and the most important local materials used in its manufacture. One of the most important findings of this research is the utilization of sustainable natural materials in architecture, interior design and furniture has a positive impact on the social, cultural, environmental, economic, and health levels for the region's residents. Therefore, several recommendations were proposed, one of them is encouraging and following up the local craftsmen in the marshes region in southern Iraq to manufacture the homemade furniture and the need to inform them of the various techniques in its industry in order to enhance this inherited craft and promoting the social, economic and cultural level of this region.
Many studies have shown that ergonomically designed furniture improves productivity and well-being. As computers have become a part of students' academic lives, they will continue to grow in the ...future. We propose anthropometric-based furniture dimensions that are suitable for university students to improve computer laboratory ergonomics. We collected data from 380 participants and analyzed 11 anthropometric measurements, correlating them with 11 furniture dimensions. Two types of furniture were found and studied in different university computer laboratories: (1) a non-adjustable chair with a non-adjustable table and (2) an adjustable chair with a non-adjustable table. The mismatch calculation showed a significant difference between existing furniture dimensions and anthropometric measurements, indicating that 7 of the 11 existing furniture dimensions need improvement. The one-way ANOVA test with a significance level of 5% also showed a significant difference between the anthropometric data and existing furniture dimensions. All 11 dimensions were determined to match students' anthropometric data. The proposed dimensions were found to be more compatible and showed reduced mismatch percentages for nine furniture dimensions and nearly zero mismatches for seat width, backrest height, and under the hood for both males and females compared to the existing furniture dimensions. The proposed dimensions of the furniture set with adjustable seat height showed slightly improved match results for seat height and seat-to-table clearance, which showed zero mismatches compared with the non-adjustable furniture set. The table width and table depth dimensions were suggested according to Barnes and Squires' ergonomic work envelope model, considering hand reach. The positions of the keyboard and mouse are also suggested according to the work envelope. The monitor position and viewing angle were proposed according to OSHA guidelines. This study suggests that the proposed dimensions can improve comfort levels, reducing the risk of musculoskeletal disorders among students. Further studies on the implementation and long-term effects of the proposed dimensions in real-world computer laboratory settings are recommended.
The article wants to be a contribution to the understanding of the methodology for the renovation of anonymous popular object that in the middle of the second world war Charlotte Perriand carried out ...in Japan and Clara Porset undertook in Mexico. Porset, following her expulsion from the island of Cuba because of her radical political positions, moved to Mexico and pursued her interest in furniture design. In particular, she collaborated with Luis Barragan, designing several objects for his architectures. While, Charlotte Perriand, who collaborated with Le Corbusier, moved to Japan in 1940, when the Ministry of Industry invited her to define new guidelines for the Japanese industrial production. Both of them have undertaken in-depth studies on material and immaterial local culture, taking into account people's history and way of life, analyzing craft products, raw materials and local processing techniques. They were able to merge local crafts and culture with the architectural thought of the moment, showing that there is no break between true tradition and modernity. They believed that beauty is in the harmony of popular objects, which are closer to people needs.

The urbanization rate has increased with the emerging fact of rural-to-urban immigration after the industrial revolution, thus causing various urban problems based on rapid population growth. Today, ...transportation and traffic problems in cities are becoming more prominent, growing with each passing day. Along with the rapid population growth in cities, as leading to an increase in the number of vehicles, preference of east-to-implement & shallow measures, instead of drastic and radical solutions in the infrastructure, operation, administration and controlling of the unplanned urbanization. Public transportation vehicles play a critical role in the lives of many, living in cities. The city-dwellers generally use public transportation vehicles as they leave their homes in order to get to the workplaces or schools. Facing with certain problems in transportation due to the buses being delayed while waiting at the bus stops, they may be late for where they are expected to arrive due to the delay of buses. In other words, it is a critical fact that people know where the bus they take is and how long it will take until they arrive at the bus stop.
With the technological progress and the global trend in the early third millennium to design furniture and architecture in the confirmed forms of the environment, and compatibility with the ...distinctive forms that became possible in the architecture of the nineties and early third millennium through electronic progress in the computer and in the possibilities of multimedia, which was reflected in its turn on the interior design and furniture. Technology has helped to discover the impact of environment on human psychological and physiological health and on the material and intellectual energy. So as to open new horizons towards the development in the field of interior design and furniture, and in the formation of a design thought and philosophy that is different from what it was in the past. The discoveries also expanded to understand the nature of the universe and the characteristics of its growth and transmission from the linear path corresponding to the similar spontaneous path and borrowing that in the architectural form. The modern era witnessed intellectual and philosophical developments and multiple scientific and technological achievements. The designer moved from the new environmental awareness of our mother land to more general objectives of the product outside its boarders of form and content to the interest in the environment from the level of the neighborhood and the street and the sites around him to the national and global level, and thus has gone to a wider scope to so that his architectural product interacts with his infinite and cosmic environment. The problem of research is that there is no clear vision to apply modern design visions to both interior design and local furniture - and the research methodology is the historical and analytical approach. The research aims to:- Studying design theories that have modern technological visions- Study of modern technical trends and advanced technology that influenced the design thought.key words :Design Vision - Modern Design Trends - Furniture Design.1) Ali Raafat (d) - intellectual creativity - the environmental cycle and the architecture of the future - InterConsult Research Center - 1997 - p.
This study takes the parent-child game behavior of children aged 3~6 and their parents as the research object, and extracts and summarizes the user behavioral needs of parents and children when they ...use game-based furniture together by using the questionnaire research method, observation method, and interview method. Based on the KJ method, 16 behavioral demand indicators were compiled by five furniture design students to construct a user behavioral demand system. In addition, AHP and entropy weight method were used to solve the user behavioral demand weights from subjective and objective perspectives in this study. Twenty experts and designers in this research field scored the indicators two by two and solved the subjective weights of user behavioral requirements according to the AHP algorithm. A seven-level Likert scale was used to design the questionnaire and distribute it to the parents of children aged 3–6 to fill in, and the 121 valid questionnaires obtained were used as raw data for entropy weighting to obtain the objective weights of user behavioral needs representing the opinions of interactive game-based furniture users. Finally, with 0.4 as the proportion coefficient of subjective weights, the subjective and objective weights were weighted to get the comprehensive weight value of each demand. The results show that the eight items with higher weights for user behavioral needs include: firm and stable, safe in use, comfortable for both parents and children, holding behavior by human-machine dimensions, able to sit on the ground and play, able to play face-to-face, easy to find for picking up, and sufficient operating space. In general, parent-child interactive game furniture firstly needs to meet the user’s needs for safety and comfort, and secondly needs to meet the user’s needs for the state of the game posture and the furniture size to meet the needs of the fetching and storage posture and the game space. The fuzzy comprehensive evaluation model established based on these needs can take into account the opinions of design experts and users at the same time and put the needs of children and parents in an equally important position so that the design of children’s play furniture can tend to meet the needs of parents and children when they use it together, and to promote parent-child interaction and the healthy growth of children.
