Superoxide dismutases (SODs) have been identified as essential components in an organism's defence mechanism. This study was
devoted to the investigation of SOD activity in 13 durum wheat landraces from Iran and Azerbaijan under 2 (drought and normal)
conditions. The effect of drought stress on SOD, chlorophyll content index (CCI), and chlorophyll degradation were studied.
Significant differences between genotypes and the genotype × environment interaction among SOD and CCI content were identified.
The mean comparison showed that the contents of SOD and CCI decreased in susceptible landraces, whereas in resistant and
moderately resistant landraces SOD and CCI remained unchanged or increased. The stress tolerance index (STI) for SOD and CCI
classified resistant and susceptible landraces into distinct groups. Therefore, these 2 characters can be used as an indirect selection
criterion for screening drought-resistant plant materials.

Determining the current situation of goose production and producers in Yozgat was aimed in this study. With this purpose, a survey study was performed with 200 goose producers around Yozgat. The ...production of the goose is done with the system of geese walk around the house in day time and they are housed in the night times with the aim of producing the meat requirement of the household. The geese are mainly produced in addition to other animal species, and commonly producers have 2-25 geese in winter and they get 11 eggs per goose, these eggs are naturally incubated and 8 chicks were produced per goose in this region. The geese are mainly slaughtered at 8 months age after selecting enough number of geese for breeding. A detailed study is needed to determine the main traits of goose production in Yozgat, because main data of this study is consist of survey study. The demand on the live goose in last years is a sign that there is a need on more productive goose varieties.
Alfalfa is the most important forage plant species. There are numerous alfalfa varieties in the world with improved yield potential and forage quality. Many of them have also been created in the ...region of Southeast Europe, using various breeding techniques. This investigation was carried out in central Serbia and it included 15 alfalfa varieties of different origin (nine from USA and six from Europe). The objective was to determine their yield in each cut and total dry
matter yield (TDMY) in the second (A1) and third (A2) year of exploitation, as well as forage quality: the content of mineral matter (MM), crude protein (CP), crude fiber (CF), crude fat matter (CFM) and nitrogen-free extract (NFE).
Investigated varieties exhibited high total variability in dry matter yield (DMY) (A1: CV= 13.19%; A2: CV= 9.33%). DMY variability was higher with the varieties from USA (A1: CV= 13.65%; A2: CV= 9.92%) than with those from Europe (A1: CV= 6.67%; A2: CV= 8.01%). Varieties from USA also proved more variable in crude protein (CP) content than European varieties (CV= 6.27% and CV= 2.68%, respectively). Differences between the investigated varieties (genotypes) also influenced total variability of forage quality parameters, with total CV ranging from 5.07% for CP to 10.48% for CF. Dry matter yield (DMY) had significant positive correlation with CP (r= 0.344), CF (r= 0.342) and CFM (r= 0.306), and the strongest correlation, although negative, was between CF and NFE (r= -0.917).
Hipertensiunea arterială esenţială constituie o patologie multifactorială în realizarea căreia factorii genetici şi de mediu joacă un rol important. Se estimează că 30-60% din variaţia tensiunii ...arteriale între indivizi este atribuită factorului genetic. Studierea acestuia este argumentată în special la copii, deoarece, cu vârsta, poate fi modificat sub influenţa factorilor de mediu. Obiective. Estimarea frecvenţei variantelor polimorfe ale genelor candidate din SRA (ECA, AGTR1) şi NOS3 la copiii hipertensivi supraponderali/obezi. Aprecierea relaţiilor posibile dintre portajul genotipurilor genelor studiate şi riscul de apariţie a hipertensiunii arteriale, excesului de greutate şi dereglărilor metabolice. Interacţiunea factorilor genetici cu cei modificabili în instalarea acestor patologii. Material şi metode. Cercetarea a inclus 120 copii supraponderali/obezi n = 62 (51,67%) hipertensivi, n = 58 (48,33%) normotensivi, vârsta 10-18 ani. Polimorfismul genelor candidate s-a identificat prin metoda de analiză a lungimii fragmentelor amplificate şi a fragmentelor polimorfe de restricţie. Produsele de restricţie s-au separat în gel de agaroză de 2% şi s-au colorat cu etidiu bromid. Protocolul studiului a fost aprobat de către Comisia de Etică Medicală şi s-a obţinut consimţământul informat scris pentru participarea în studiu. Rezultate. Copiii cu genotipurile ECA DD şi AGTR1 CC s-au remarcat, semnificativ statistic, prin valori mai mari ale IMC, CA şi TAS. La purtătorii genotipurilor GG şi AG al NOS3A/G, de asemenea, s-au înregistrat valori mai înalte, semnificativ statistice, ale TAS faţă de purtătorii genotipului AA. Totodată, copiii cu genotipul ECA DD s-au deosebit, semnificativ statistic, printr-un nivel seric mai înalt al trigliceridelor (1,90 ± 0,122 mmol/l), insulinei (27,27 ± 2,557 μU/ml) şi diminuat al HDL-C (1,24 ± 0,048 mmol/l). Veridicitate statistică s-a constatat, de asemenea, între vârsta mică de gestaţie şi genotipul DD al ECA şi între vârsta mare de gestaţie şi genotipul ID al ECA. Purtătorii genotipului DD al genei ECA şi purtătorii CC al genei AGTR 1, cu veridicitate statistică, s-au dovedit de a fi mai frecvent fumători pasivi, consumatori ai produselor mai sărate şi mai grase. Concluzie. Identificarea copiilor supraponderali/obezi purtători ai genotipurilor ECA DD, AGTR CC şi NOS GG ar putea facilita detectarea precoce a copiilor cu risc sporit de realizare a hipertensiunii arteriale, dereglărilor metabolice pentru iniţierea precoce a măsurilor de profilaxie şi tratament.
2002-2003 yılı yetiştirme döneminde, 9 çevrede denenen 25 ekmeklik buğday genotpnin tane verimi değerlerine. GGE-biplot analizi (G, genotip +- GEl. genotip çevre interaksiyonu uygulanmıştır. Toplam ...varyasyonun (G + E + GEl % 81 'ini E, % 7.3 ünü G ve % 11.7'sini ise GEl açıklamıştır. Biplotu oluşturmak için kullanılan ilk iki ana bileşen (PC1 ve PC2). GGE kareler toplamının % 46.2 ve % 15.8'inı oluşturmuştur. PCI değerleri >0 olan genotipler yüksek verimli ve/veya uyumlu iken, PC1 değerleri <0 olan genotipler ise düşük verimli ve/veya uyum sağlayamayanlar olarak beklenmiştir. Genotiplerin PC1 değerlerinden farklı olarak, sıfıra yakın PC2 değerleri stabil genotiplerle ilgili iken. mutlak değerleri büyük olan PC2 değerleri ise stabilitesi düşük genotiplerle ilgili olmuştur. Diğer taraftan çevrelerin PC1 değerleri, çapraz olmayan GEl, PC2 değerleri ise çapraz GEl'ne işaret etmiştir. Denemede G7. G19 ve G24 genotiplerinin yüksek verimli ve stabil oldukları belirlenmiştir. Orta Anadolu Platosundan örneklenen deneme çevreleri iki büyük çevreye (ME1 ve ME2 ayrılmış, E1 (Konya), E3 (Obruk, E5 (Haymana) ve E8 (Uşak) ilk büyük çevreyi (ME1, E2 (Çumra). E4 (Ereğli, E6 (Ulaş, E7 (Eskişehir) ve E9 (Albntaş ise ikinci büyük çevreyi (ME2) oluşturmuştur. Diğer taraftan E2 (Çumra) ise tüm deneme çevrelerini temsil etme ve denenen genotipleri en güçlü ayırma özelliğine sahip olmuştur.
Yield data of 25 bread wheat genotypes tested across 9 rain-fed environments during the 2002-2003 growing season were analyzed using the GGE (i.e. G, genotype + GE1, genotype-by-environment interaction) biplot method. E (environment) explained 81% of the total (G + E + GE) variation, whereas G and GEI captured 7.3% and 11.7%, respectively. The first 2 principal components (PCI and PC2) were used to create a 2-dimensional GGE-biplot and explained 46.2% and 15.8% of GGE sum of squares (SS), respectively. Genotypic PCI scores >0 detected the adaptable and/or higher-yielding genotypes, while PCI scores <0 discriminated the non-adaptable and/or lower-yielding ones. Unlike genotypic PC1 scores, near-zero PC2 scores identified stable genotypes, whereas absolute larger PC2 scores detected the unstable ones. On the other hand, environmental PCI scores were related to non-crossover type GEIs and the PC2 scores to the crossover type. Of the tested genotypes, G7, G19 and G24 were desirable in terms of higher yielding ability and stability. Nine test environments were sampled from the Central Anatolian Plateau and constituted 2 mega-environments (ME1 and ME2). The former included environments El (Konya), E3 (Obruk), E5 (Haymana) and E8 (Uşak), and the latter included E2 (Çumra), E4 (Ereğli), E6 (Ulaş), E7 (Eskişehir) and E9 (Altıntaş). On the other hand, E2 (Çumra) was the best representative of the overall environments and the most powerful to discriminate genotypes.
Glomerularne bolesti mogu biti uzrokovane hemodinamskim promjenama, infekcijom, nepravilnim imunološkim odgovorom, nasljednim metaboličkim poremećajima, djelovanjem toksičnih tvari, a katkada uzrok ...ostaje skriven. Bazična znanost i translacijska istraživanja u kombinaciji s kliničkim unaprijedili su naše razumijevanje etiopatogeneze ovih bolesti. Nova znanja dovela su do upotpunjavanja i izmjena postojeće klasifikacije glomerulopatija. Poznavanje molekularnih puteva staničnog ciklusa ili otkrivanje novih genetskih oštećenja pridonijela su kreiranju pametnijih terapeutskih pristupa i boljoj kvaliteti života pacijenata s bubrežnim oštećenjem uz odgodu renalne insuficijencije. Cilj preglednog članka je ukratko razmotriti opća načela u patologiji glomerularnih oštećenja i predočiti neka od novijih istraživanja podocitopatija; membranske glomerulopatije (MG); ANCA vaskulitisa; membranoproliferativnog glomerulonefritisa (GN) i C3 glomerulopatije te ulogu komplementa u oštećenju glomerularnih struktura. Također se ukazuje na vrijednost biopsije bubrega koja uz dijagnostičku i prognostičku ostaje nezaobilazna epidemiološka te istraživačka metoda.
Lafora Disease (LD) is a fatal neurodegenerative condition characterized by the accumulation of abnormal glycogen inclusions known as Lafora bodies (LBs). Patients with LD manifest myoclonus and ...tonic-clonic seizures, visual hallucinations, and progressive neurological deterioration beginning at the age of 8-18 years. Mutations in either EPM2A gene encoding protein phosphatase laforin or NHLRC1 gene encoding ubiquitin-ligase malin cause LD. Approximately, 200 distinct mutations accounting for the disease are listed in the Lafora progressive myoclonus epilepsy mutation and polymorphism database. In this review, the genotype-phenotype correlations, the genetic diagnosis of LD, the downregulation of glycogen metabolism as the main cause of LD pathogenesis and the regulation of glycogen synthesis as a key target for the treatment of LD are discussed.
Çalışmada tuza tolerans düzeyleri daha önce belirlenmiş tuz ve kuraklığa tolerans (Burdur Merkez, Burdur Bucak) ve duyarlı (Kemer ve Giresun) patlıcan genotipleri kullanılmıştır. Kontrollü sera ...koşullarında yürütülen çalışmada, patlıcan tohumları torf ve perlit karışımı ortamında çimlendirilmiş ve ekimden 20 gün sonra fideler saksılara şaşırtılmıştır. Bitkiler 7 gün sonra içerisinde farklı dozlarda ağır metaller bulunan sulama suyu (Kontrol: 0 ppm; I. Karışım: 0.2 ppm Cu+0.01 ppm Cd+5 ppm Pb+2 ppm Zn; II. Karışım: 0.4 ppm Cu+0.02 ppm Cd+10 ppm Pb+4 ppm Zn) ile sulanmaya başlanmıştır. Bitkiler 40 gün boyunca sulandıktan sonra bu sürenin sonunda hasat edilmiş ve analizler için örnek alımı yapılmıştır. Çalışmada bitkiler, yeşil aksam ve kök yaş ağırlığı, yeşil aksam ve kök kuru ağırlığı, gövde ve kök boyu, yaprak alanı, klorofil, malondialdehit (MDA) miktarı, süperoksit dismutaz (SOD), katalaz (CAT), askorbat peroksidaz (APX) ve glutatyon redüktaz (GR) enzim aktiviteleri yönünden incelenmiştir. Bitkiler genotiplere göre değişmekle birlikte ağır metal uygulamasından olumsuz yönde etkilenmişlerdir. Ağır metal uygulamaları doz artışına bağlı olarak bitkilerin yeşil aksam ve köklerinin yaş ve kuru ağırlıklarında, kök ve gövde boylarında, yaprak alanı değerlerinde azalmaya neden olmuş, MDA ve antioksidatif enzim aktivitelerinde artış görülmüştür. Çalışma sonucunda, ağır metal uygulamalarının oluşturduğu strese karşı, tolerant Burdur Merkez ve Burdur Bucak genotipleri, hassas olan Giresun ve Kemer genotiplerine oranla daha iyi bir performans göstermiştir. Elde edilen bulgulara göre; bitkilerin tuzluluk, kuraklık ve ağır metal stresi gibi abiyotik streslere dayanım için benzer mekanizmaları kullandıkları düşünülmektedir.
The eggplant genotypes (Burdur Merkez, Burdur Bucak, Kemer ve Giresun) of which salt and drought tolerances were determined before by examining changes in some of the morphological and physiological characteristics were used as materials. In the studies carried out in controlled greenhouse conditions, eggplant plants were subjected to different levels heavy metal irrigation at 20 days after sowing (Control: 0 ppm; I. mixture: 0.2 ppm Cu+0.01 ppm Cd+5 ppm Pb+2 ppm Zn; II. mixture: 0.4 ppm Cu+0.02 ppm Cd+10 ppm Pb+4 ppm Zn). Young plants were harvested after forty days at heavy metal treatment and the fresh and dry shoot weight, fresh and dry root weight, shoot and root length, leaf areas, chlorophyll, malondi-aldehyde (MDA), superoxide dismutase (SOD) and glutathione reductase (GR) were determined. The eggplant plants were adversely affected by heavy metal applications. In parallel to increase the dose, heavy metal mixtures led to a reduction in values of fresh and dry weight of shoot and root, stem and root length, leaf area. MDA and antioxidative enzyme activities increased in plants irrigated with water containing a mixture of heavy metal. As a result of this study, tolerant Burdur Merkez and Burdur Bucak genotypes showed a better performance compared with the salt sensitive genotypes Giresun and Kemer. The plants are thought to use similar mechanisms for resistance to abiotic stresses such as drought and heavy metal stress.
Pertumbuhan tomat pada lingkungan berbeda memberikan perbedaan hasil karena adanya interaksi genetik x lingkungan yang mempengaruhi ekspresi suatu gen pada kondisi lingkungan tertentu. Penelitian ini ...bertujuan untuk menduga nilai ragam genetik serta nilai heritabilitas arti luas pada genotip tomat tipe determinate di dua lingkungan tanam. Penelitian dilakukan dari Maret hingga Juli 2021 dengan menggunakan Rancangan Kelompok Lengkap Teracak (RKLT) di dua lingkungan tanam (Depok dan Jakarta). Perlakuan terdiri dari 3 genotip tomat generasi F6 dan 2 varietas komersil diulang sebanyak 3 kali. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa lingkungan tanam memberikan pengaruh terhadap pertumbuhan dan perkembangan genotip tomat yang digunakan. Nilai ragam genetik pada setiap karakter tergolong dalam kriteria sempit, kecuali pada karakter tebal daging buah dan luas daun. Nilai heritabilitas arti luas terhadap karakter yang diamati menunjukkan kriteria tinggi, kecuali pada karakter diameter buah (kriteria sedang) dan karakter tinggi tanaman (kriteria rendah). Genotip RwTa-4-10U-6U-4U-2U memberikan penampilan terbaik pada kedua lokasi tanam, dengan tinggi tanaman lebih rendah (91,09 cm), diameter batang lebih kekar (9,69 mm), buah lebih panjang (5,64 cm), diameter buah lebih besar (4,25 cm), total padatan terlarut lebih tinggi (5,22ºBrix), bobot per buah lebih besar (48,43 g), serta umur berbunga lebih genjah (25 HST) dibandingkan varietas Tantyna dan varietas Tora.ABSTRACTTomatoes growth in different environments give different results due to genetic x environment interaction that affect the expression of genes in a certain environmental condition. This study aimed to estimate the genetic variance and the broad sense heritability of determinate tomato genotypes in two growing environments. The study was conducted from March to July 2021, using a Randomized Complete Block Design (RCBD) in two planting environments (Depok and Jakarta). The treatments consisted of 3 genotypes of tomato generation F6 and 2 commercial varieties with 3 replications. The results showed that the environment affected the growth and development of the tomato genotypes used. The genetic variance was classified into narrow criteria except for flesh thickness and leaves area. The heritability value showed high value except for fruit diameter (medium) and plant height (low). The genotype RwTa-4-10U-6U-4U-2U gave the best performance at both planting locations, with lower plant height (91.09 cm), more harder stem diameter (9.69 mm), longer fruit (5.64 cm), larger fruit diameter (4.25 cm), higher total dissolved solids (5.22ºBrix), greater weight per fruit (48.43 g), and early flowering (25 DAP) compared to the Tantyna and Tora varieties.
Amaç: Servikal kanser kadınlarda ikinci en yaygın kanser tipidir ve kansere bağlı ölümlerin de ikinci en sık nedenidir. Yapılan epidemiyolojik çalışmalar serviks kanseri için majör risk faktörünün ...human papillomavirus HPV olduğunu göstermiştir. Bu çalışmanın amacı HPV DNA araştırılması için laboratuvarımıza gönderilen servikal örneklerde HPV varlığının ve genotiplerinin belirlenmesidir. Gereç ve Yöntem: İncelenen servikal örneklerde PCR yöntemi ile HPV DNA araştırıldı ve revers hibridizasyon yöntemi ile HPV tiplendirilmesi yapıldı. Bulgular: Çalışmaya alınan ikiyüzelli adet servikal örnekten 29’u %11.6 sadece yüksek riskli, 12’si %4.8 sadece düşük riskli ve 7’si %2.8 yüksek ve düşük riskli birlikte pozitif olmak üzere toplam 48 %19.2 örnekte HPV DNA saptandı. Yüksek riskli HPV genotiplerinden HPV 16 %18.7 ve HPV 30’s+50’s %1 2.5 oranında tespit edildi. Sonuç: Çalışmamızda yüksek riskli tiplerden olan HPV 16 en yüksek oranda saptanırken diğer tipler ise farklı sıklıklarda belirlenmiştir. Ülkemizde HPV DNA ve HPV tip prevalansının saptanması ve HPV aşısının kapsadığı popülasyonun belirlenmesi için benzer demografik özelliklere sahip hasta/kontrol gruplarının katıldığı ve standart bir yöntemin kullanıldığı geniş kapsamlı çalışmalara ihtiyaç vardır
