This work is based on the long-term research experience between Mongolia and Germany, which resulted in extensive plant collections in both countries. One goal is to provide information access via ...the Internet to the herbarium specimens available in German plant collections. Up to now, 16,403 records (a fi nding of a species documented by images and/or vouchers) for 1,533 out of 2879 Mongolian vascular plant species are included in the database. For half of the species described for Mongolia scans of herbarium specimens are available. The plant database is searchable for family, scientifi c name, habitat, growth form as well as distribution, and other parameters such as the red list status or the endemic status.
Henri Van Heurck examined a sample collection of sea ice and underlying sea floor sediment material during the Belgian Antarctic Expedition (1897–1899). He described eight new taxa of the monoraphid ...diatom genus Cocconeis from this collection including: C. antiqua var. tenuistriata, C. gautierii var. gautierii and var. inornata, C. heydrichii, C. japonica var. antarctica, C. litigiosa, C. schuettii var. schuettii and var. minor. All these Cocconeis taxa share well-silicified sternum valves with wide, apical hyaline areas, more or less lenticular in shape, and narrow hyaline bands at mid-distance between the apical axis and the margin, while the more delicate raphe-sternum valves bear uniseriate striae, a hemistauros associated with the central raphe area, and crescent-shaped terminal hyaline areas. Since their original description in the early 20th century, these Cocconeis taxa have been rarely reported. I studied newly described Cocconeis taxa from Van Heurck's type material by light microscopy. The main valve features of C. gautierii var. gautierii and var. inornata, C. litigiosa, and C. schuettii var. schuettii and var. minor agree well with those of Cocconeis antiqua; I propose these five taxa be reduced to synonymy of C. antiqua.
A catalogue of types from the Herbarium of the University of Granada has not previously been compiled. As a result, a search of these collections in order to compile digital images for preservation ...and publication yielded a large number of formerly unrecognized types.
This dataset contains the specimen records from the catalogue of the nomenclature types of fungi and lichens in the Herbarium of the University of Granada, Spain. These herbarium specimens are included in the GDA and GDAC collections, acronyms from Index Herbariorum (Thiers 2014). At this time, the type collection of fungi and lichens contains 88 type specimens of 49 nominal taxa, most from Agaricales and the genus Cortinarius, described from the western Mediterranean, mainly Spain, by the following authors: V.Antonin, J.Ballarà, A.Bidaud, G.F.Bills, M.Bon, C.Cano, M.Casares, G.Chevassut, M.Contu, F.Esteve-Raventós, R.Galán, L.Guzmán-Dávalos, R.Henry, E.Horak, R.Mahiques, G.Malençon, P.Moënne-Loccoz, G.Moreno, A.Ortega, F.Palazón, V.N.Suárez.-Santiago, A.Vêzda, J.Vila, and M.Villareal. For each specimen, the locality indication, species name, observation date, collector, type status, related information, associated sequences, other catalogue numbers related to each type, and image URL are recorded. The dataset is associated with an image collection named "Colección de imágenes de los tipos nomenclaturales de hongos, líquenes, musgos y algas incluidos en el Herbario de la Universidad de Granada (GDA y GDAC)" (Vizoso and Quesada 2013) which is housed and accessible at the Global Biodiversity Information Facility in Spain (GBIF.ES) Hosting and Publishing Service "Biodiversity Image Portal of Spanish collections" and is also available at the Herbarium of University of Granada institutional web (Vizoso 2014a, Vizoso 2014b). That image collection contains 113 images, of which 56 correspond to the nomenclature types of 49 taxa (47 fungi, 2 lichens), the rest of the images in this collection correspond to documents and specimens or microscopy photographs which are included in the herbarium specimens of fungi. These complement and document the process of the typification.
The herbarium of University of Extremadura (UNEX Herbarium) is formed by 36451 specimens of vascular plants whose main origin is the autonomous region of Extremadura (Spain) and Portugal, although it ...also contains a smaller number of specimens from different places, including the rest of peninsular Spain, the Baleares Islands, the Macaronesian region (Canary Islands, Madeira and Azores), northwest of Africa (Morocco) and Brazil. 98% of the total records are georeferenced. It is an active collection in continuous growth. Its data can be accessed through the GBIF data portal at http://data.gbif.org/datasets/resource/255 and http://www.eweb.unex.es/eweb/botanica/herbario/. This paper describes the specimen associated data set of the UNEX Herbarium, with an objective to disseminate the data contained in a data set with potential users, and promote the multiple uses of the data.

The herbarium collection of Andreas R. Wolny in the Gymnasium of Sremski Karlovci contains the specimens of well-known Serbian botanist Dr. Josif Pančić, who donated them during and after his visit ...to the Gymnasium. Also, one small part of the specimens from this collection is deposited in the herbarium of the Institute for Nature Conservation of Vojvodina Province in Novi Sad. A list of 281 herbarium sheets with 295 taxa is presented for the first time to the botanical community, with detailed information on where and when the plants were collected, and notes on the specimens and revision data.
Andric's herbarium was established between 1823 and 1824. It was completed in 1837 and is kept today at two locations. The biggest part of the herbarium is placed in the Natural History Museum in ...Split, while the class folder of Diandria is kept in the Trogir City Museum. Unfortunately, it is not known when the parts of herbarium were stored in these two institutions nor on which occasion the transfer took place. Today there are 620 herbarium sheets in the two museums, out of which 518 taxa were listed in the register from 1914, while 115 taxa are missing. In addition to the 905 taxa that Andric collected or registered (according to the list from 1914), there are 24 newly discovered taxa that are found and labelled in the herbaria of the Trogir City Museum and Natural History Museum in Split. Thus, according to the work done on the material so far, the total number of taxa collected or registered by Andrija Andric for the Trogir flora is 929. In 2005, Andric's herbarium at the Natural History Museum in Split was updated, which included replacement and preservation of herbarium sheets and insertion of original labels in the herbarium.

Andrićev herbar nastao je od 1823.–1824. do 1837. godine, a danas se čuva na dva mjesta. Najveći dio herbara nalazi se u Prirodoslovnom muzeju u Splitu, a mapa razreda Diandria u Muzeju grada ...Trogira. Nije nam poznato kada, niti kojom prigodom su dijelovi herbara završili u navedenim ustanovama.
U oba muzeja čuva se 620 herbarskih listova u kojima se danas nalazi 518 svojti koje su navedene u popisu iz 1914. godine, a 115 svojti nedostaje. Ukupnom broju od 905 svojti koliko ih je Andrić prikupio ili zapisao (prema popisu iz 1914. god.) svakako treba pridodati i 24 nove svojte koje smo pronašli herbarizirane i etiketirane u Muzeju grada Trogira i Prirodoslovnom muzeju u Splitu. Time bi, prema rezultatima dosadašnje obrade materijala, ukupan broj svojti koje je sakupio ili zapisao Andrija Andrić za trogirsku floru iznosio 929.
U dijelu Andrićevog herbara koji se nalazi u Prirodoslovnom muzeju u Splitu zamijenjeni su 2005. godine herbarski listovi, a izvorne su etikete sačuvane i umetnute.
Prije 150 godina u posjedu Narodnog Muzeja u Zagrebu bila je herbarska zbirka višega bilja koja je sadržavala oko 6.000 primjeraka. Činili su je herbari J. Hosta, I. Daubačija i H. Klinggräffa. ...Zbirka je kasnije dopunjavana herbarskim materijalom dvaju zaslužnih hrvatskih botaničara J. K. Schlossera Klekovskog i Lj. Vukotinovića. U Muzeju je čuvana do 1875. godine kada je poklonjena Botaničko – fiziologijskom zavodu Sveučilišta u Zagrebu gdje je postala osnovom današnjeg herbara Botaničkog zavoda Prirodoslovno – matematičkog fakulteta, najvećeg herbara u Hrvatskoj.
Od 1987. godine u Hrvatskome prirodoslovnom muzeju (dijelu nekadašnjeg Narodnog muzeja) ponovo se prikuplja botanička građa, pa je osnovana herbarska zbirka i Botanički odjel. Danas zbirka sadrži preko 6.000 herbarskih primjeraka višega bilja prikupljenog većim dijelom na području Hrvatske. Čitava zbirka je smještena u privremenom depou koji zaprema premalen prostor i nalazi se na tavanu. Primjerci se čuvaju u kartonskim herbarskim ovicima koji su abecednim redom rodova i vrsta spremljeni u drvene ormare.
