La rentabilidad empresarial hotelera de Tungurahua atravesó desafíos considerables durante el periodo de pandemia, mismos que fueron solventados con los resultados obtenidos de años anteriores ...obtenidos por la correcta administración y gestión de sus activos. El objetivo de la investigación fue analizar las variables: perspectiva financiera mediante las razones de endeudamiento, con los indicadores; endeudamiento del activo (EA), endeudamiento del patrimonio (EP), endeudamiento de activo fijo (EAF), apalancamiento (F); y la razón de gestión con; rotación de activos fijos (RAF) y rotación de ventas (RV), mientras que para la variable dependiente fue considerada la rentabilidad , evaluando el retorno sobre activos (ROA) y retorno sobre patrimonio (ROE) en el periodo (2017-2021). La metodología aplicada tomó un enfoque cuantitativo, se utilizó el método estadístico de mínimos cuadrados ordinarios para determinar los factores que influyen en la rentabilidad de 6 hoteles seleccionados. Los hallazgos reflejaron que en promedio la rentabilidad se encuentra estable con un efecto positivo producido por los indicadores de gestión
The purpose of the current study is to investigate the moderating role of life satisfaction in determining the effects of employee self-concordance on job performance. Bu çalışmanın temel amacı, çalışanların öz uyumlarının iş performansına yönelik etkisinde yaşam doyumunun aracı rolünü belirlemektir. Araştırmanın evrenini Kapadokya bölgesinde yer alan dört ve beş yıldızlı otel çalışanları oluşturmaktadır. Evrenin tamamı araştırma kapsamına dâhil edilmiştir. Veri toplama aracı olarak anket tekniği kullanılmıştır ve araştırma sonunda 176 geçerli anket toplanmıştır. Yapılan korelasyon analizi sonuçlarına göre, öz uyumun bütün boyutları ile (dışsal, içe yansıtma, tanımlanmış, içsel) iş performansı arasında pozitif düzeyde anlamlı bir ilişki bulunmuştur. Ayrıca hiyerarşik regresyon analizi sonuçlarına göre; tanımlanmış öz uyum boyutunun iş performansına yönelik etkisinde bireylerin yaşam doyumu aracı rolü tespit edilirken; dışsal, içe yansıtma ve içsel öz uyum boyutlarının, iş performansına yönelik etkisinde yaşam doyumunun bir etkisi görülmemiştir.

Bu çalışmanın temel amacı Türkiye’nin Akdeniz bölgesinde faaliyet gösteren Turizm İşletme Belgeli beş yıldızlı otel işletmelerinde finansal analizin gerçekleştirilme durumunun ve sıklığının ...belirlenmesidir. Ayrıca finansal analiz sürecinde nelere dikkat edildiği ve kullanılan finansal analiz teknikleri, kullanım sıklığı ve önem derecesi bağlamında incelenmiştir. Bu bağlamda oluşturulan anketle Akdeniz Bölgesi'nde faaliyet gösteren 191 adet turizm işletme belgeli 5 yıldızlı otelden veriler toplanmıştır. Çalışma sonucunda otel işletmelerinde planlama ve performans denetimi amaçlarıyla finansal analizin gerçekleştirildiği belirlenmiştir. Çalışmada yine finansal analizin aylık olarak gerçekleştirildiği belirlenmiştir. Son olarak otel işletmelerinin en sık kullandığı ve önem verdikleri analiz tekniğinin karşılaştırmalı tablolar analizi olduğu saptanmıştır.
The main aim of this study is to determine the availability and frequency of realization of financial analysis performed by tourism operation certified five star hotel companies operated at the Mediterranean Region of Turkey. Also, it is examined the what pays attention to in the process of financial analysis and financial analysis techniques used in the context of the frequency of use and severity. In this context, data were collected by questionnaire created from 191 tourism operations certified five stars hotel companies operating in the Mediterranean region. In the analysis result, it is determined that financial analysis was carried out for the purposes of planning and performance auditing in hotel companies. It also determined financial analysis was carried out on a monthly basis. Finally it is determined to the most important and mostly used financial analysis technique by hotel companies is horizontal analysis.
El artículo expone el análisis de los conceptos de gestión del conocimiento y de capital intelectual, así como la valoración de 12 modelos para la medición del capital intelectual; los cuales, por ...sus características y conceptos de aplicación, pudieran, de manera total o parcial, emplearse en las condiciones de las empresas hoteleras cubanas. Se identifican insuficiencias en los modelos analizados, que no imposibilitan utilizar los indicadores contenidos en ellos en la medición del capital intelectual en empresas hoteleras. Como resultado, se deciden utilizar los indicadores del modelo Skandia, concentrados en 4 grupos: cliente, recursos humanos, renovación y desarrollo y procesos. De los 85 indicadores de este modelo, los expertos consideran que 23 de ellos resultan de posible aplicación en las empresas hoteleras cubanas.AbstractThe article presents an analysis of the concepts of knowledge management and intellectual capital, as well as the assessment of 12 models for measuring intellectual capital, which could be used, totally or partially, in Cuban hotel companies, due to their characteristics and application concepts. Some inadequacies in the above mentioned models are identified, which do not limit the use of their indicators in measuring intellectual capital in hotel companies. As a result, the decision is to use the indicators of the Skandia model, concentrated into 4 groups: client, human resources, renovation and development, and processes. Out of the 85 indicators of this model, experts consider that 23 can be applied in Cuban hotel companies.
The model created by Westhead & Howorth (2007) categorizes six conceptualized ‘types’ of family firms (FFs): a) average FF; b) professional EF; c) cousin consortium FF; d ) professional cousin ...consortium FF; e) transitional FF; f) open FF. In order to encourage discussion by new dimensions of organizational analysis, agency theory brings new possibilities. The objective of this work is to analyze the relationship between the categorization of familiar hotel companies, according to their ownership structure and management control, and its organizational life cycle. Specific objectives are: a) categorize family hotel companies in the sample ; b) list the types of family hotel companies with their life cycle stage and management functions in accordance to Vadon and Padula (1996) model; c) relate the life cycle stages with management functions. This cross-sectional survey is a quantitative research with confirmatory characteristic. A sample was composed by 94.2% family firms (47 hotel companies) on Itapema and Porto Belo cities, located in Santa Catarina State (SC)/Brazil. As search results, five types of family hotel companies were identified, considering the model of Westhead & Howorth (2007), and identified positive relationships between the categories of family firms with the life cycle stages and management functions. The "open family businesses" had the highest average level of life cycle and effective practices of management functions.
O modelo criado por Westhead & Howorth (2007) categoriza seis tipos de empresas familiares (EFs): a) EF em geral; b) EF profissional; c) EF de consórcio entre primos; d) EF profissional de consórcio entre primos; e) EF transitória; f) EF aberta. No intuito de incentivar a discussão por novas dimensões de análise das organizações, a teoria da agência traz novas possibilidades para tal. O objetivo deste trabalho consiste em analisar a relação entre a categorização de empresas hoteleiras familiares, de acordo com sua estrutura de propriedade e controle da gestão, e o seu ciclo de vida organizacional. Como objetivos específicos têm-se: a) categorizar as empresas hoteleiras familiares da amostra; b) relacionar os tipos de empresas hoteleiras familiares com seu estágio de ciclo de vida e funções de gestão de acordo com o modelo de Padula e Vadon (1996); c) relacionar os estágios de ciclo de vida daquelas empresas com as funções de gestão. Trata-se de pesquisa quantitativa com caráter confirmatório, de corte transversal, tipo survey. Participaram da amostra 94,12% empresas familiares (47 meios de hospedagem) de Itapema e Porto Belo/SC/Brasil. Como resultados da pesquisa, cinco tipos de empresas hoteleiras familiares foram identificados, considerando o modelo de Westhead & Howorth (2007), e identificadas relações positivas entre as categorias de empresas familiares com o ciclo de vida e funções de gestão. As "empresas familiares abertas" apresentaram o maior nível médio de ciclo de vida e com práticas efetivas das funções de gestão.
Small and medium hotel companies in the majority of developed tourist countries have dominant role in hotel industry. The same situation is with Serbia. An important precondition for successful ...business of a hotel is accepting and applying basic pillars of marketing concept i.e. satisfying needs and expectations of guests in order to achieve profit. Small hotel companies have specific problems in their daily business. Top priority in management and surviving of hotels is cash, because fixed costs are very dominant so hotels earmark more resources for them than for marketing. This means higher engagement and involvement of the state in further development of small and medium hotel companies in Serbia. The state should provide favourable subsidized credit lines for small and medium hotel companies in Serbia, through appropriate support programmes.
This study examines the performance of commercial hotels and casino hotels in the United States from 1994 to 1998. It analyzes the relationship between hotel performance and type of hotel company. ...Using financial data from the hotel and casino section of the Value Line Data File, independent sample t tests and ANCOVAs were used for analysis. The performance of commercial hotel companies and casino hotel companies, including operational and capital return components, is examined and analyzed. The findings reveal that type of hotel company has no relationship with performance and that casino hotel companies show higher effectiveness in using assets to generate revenue. It is also evidenced that debt ratio has a close relationship with the return from operations, particularly from commercial hotel operations.
Corporate social responsibility (CSR) in tourism is particularly interesting given the fact that society is part of the service and companies should assume a responsibility with the places they are ...located in. Several studies analyse the reporting of CSR activities, however, there is modest research relating CSR practices in the hospitality industry. The purpose of this paper is to provide two case studies in the Spanish hospitality industry, Sol Meliá and NH, which are the only top hotel companies that offer information about their CSR practices in their web sites and Annual Reports. Although the tourism industry still has a long way to do in the reporting of CSR activities to become equal to other industries, in the two cases analysed a clear commitment to CSR matters it is observed within its various spheres of action.
