Kakšen vpliv in kakšno težo so imele? In kakšni so današnji pristopi k raziskavam prostora v različnih vedah?

The article starts from the modern diagnosis of the situation in the humanities in which, according to Clifford Geertz, there has been a »blurring of genres«. Then, in order to try to refer to the sources of changes, the author looks back at the basic twentieth-century thought tendencies. Those tendencies are exemplified primarily by the philosophy of Martin Heidegger and to a much lesser extent by Jacques Derrida and Giles Deleuze. Finally, the article brings a new understanding of the humanities based on the Christian tradition. The starting point is a new, Christian understanding of the flesh.
Kada život u svojoj posljednjoj mogućnosti produhovljenja postaje autopoietički sustav koji u tehnologiziranju bitka gubi značajke jednokratnosti i neizvjesnosti, a umjesto toga biva singularnošću i proračunljivošću, znanje „o“ kibernetičkoj razlici čovjeka i svijeta iziskuje radikalnu transformaciju.
The Missal of Count Novak (1368) is the oldest dated missal according to the use of the Roman Court written in Glagolitic script and the Croatian Church Slavonic language. This missal has been subjected to scientific research by a group of Croatian and Austrian scientists due to its great value, arising from the fact it has survived in excellent condition since 1368, as well as the fact it was used as the template for the first Croatian printed missal. This paper presents the ground research of the Missal of Count Novak that is necessary for the TEI processing of the content of the current Missal so it could be accessible to the broader scientific and academic community. The scope of our research is the structure of the content of the Missal, its liturgical and textological ensemble that will be the subject of the further research. The first part of the research will provide an overview of the history and content of the first Roman-rite missal, and then of the Missal of Count Novak. It will then provide an insight into liturgical terminology, which will serve as the foundation for further digital research and analysis. This research establishes methodology for a modern approach to researching Glagolitic missals in the modern, digital humanities.
The paper consists of three parts together with the introduction and conclusion. The first part considered the humanities in the perspective of humanization and explains why the interpretation of its ...crisis is not self-evident. The symptoms of the crisis are treated on the basis of self-understanding of selected actors thematizing such phenomena as is the situation in education, as well as the constellation of certain forms of knowledge that are indispensable in terms of political framing of democratization. The axis of crisis self-interpretations presents itself by the fact that it features a hegemonic form of economic rationality which “invasively” transforms the framework of the humanities. How can the humanities react to the situation? The second part seeks to answer this very question: what forms of reflexivity can be developed in order to resist the mentioned hegemony? The humanities contain idiosyncratic potentials that enable them to dissolve the ruling ideologies in terms of instrumental rationality and utilitarianism. “Economic humanities” are a form of reflection for the humanities that confronts the mentioned hegemony. The third part contextualizes the crisis-determined humanities through historical dynamics of abstraction and shows why the humanities care about reflecting on the modern finalization of abstraction on the occasion of humanization. Finally, the paper argues that, although the current expansion of abstraction affects the humanities, the crisis implies the existence of a space of possibility in which indecision exists.
The analysis of the author’s own past research has shown that digital tools do not have a significant role in contributing to new interpretations of the Slovene literary canon. However, when shifting ...the subject of interpretation from a single work to authorial opera, genre corpora, literary period or the entire national literature, it becomes clear how quantitative methods, stimulated by digitalisation of the cultural past, literary databases and digital tools play a vital role. Interpretations that consider the richness of data, generated by digital culture, are more trustworthy than the former ones. The price we pay for that is the refusal of clear encyclopaedic definitions and descriptions. Literary past, observed through the digital humanities’ perspective has a fuzzy development because the central phaenomena gradually fade in the multitude of rival or peripheral phenomena. Slovene literature is not represented by prominent authors and their famous works any more, it does not comply with dictation of the great national myth, i.e., the construction of the nation from the spirit of literature. Rather, it is considered as a random fact, a matter of serendipity. It is represented as the entire literary production on the Slovene territory, in Slovene as well as other languages. Due to special circumstances, it is different from the neighbouring literatures and it triggers new, nation-specific definitions of literary phenomena. New interpretations of Slovene literature are not only indebted to the use of digital tools, but also to the consequence of changes within the literary system itself. In its beginnings, Slovene literature was dedicated to the constitution and emancipation of the nation, while now it also legitimately fulfils other human needs and functions: cultural recreation, women and social minorities’ emancipation and mobilisation, escapism, self-reflection, self-therapy, testing of the alternative models of social behaviour, etc.
Croatian philology has a long tradition of publishing reference books in the field of historical linguistics; it is very important to continue and foster this tradition in the future, as well as to adapt it to the modern digital era. Recent large-scale digitization initiatives have focused heavily on historical texts. Many reasons have led to the increasing digitization of archival documents, library and museum material, and collections of old books and manuscripts stored in monasteries. one of the main reasons for the digitization of old texts is to protect the original document from possible damage resulting from inappropriate handling. the use of digital copies instead of original documents is necessary to protect and preserve old written texts, as they are the most reliable way to back up original documents. Another very important reason for digitizing old texts is to make them more accessible to scholars, experts, and the public. In this way, young people who prefer using digital media will become more easily acquainted with cultural heritage that would otherwise be inaccessible to them. the digitization model of old Croatian grammar books will be discussed, as the existing resources do not include grammar books from the pre-standard period of the Croatian language.
