The main objective of individualization of treatment in IVF is to offer every single woman the best treatment tailored to her own unique characteristics, thus maximizing the chances of pregnancy and ...eliminating the iatrogenic and avoidable risks resulting from ovarian stimulation. Personalization of treatment in IVF should be based on the prediction of ovarian response for every individual. The starting point is to identify if a woman is likely to have a normal, poor or a hyper response and choose the ideal treatment protocol tailored to this prediction. The objective of this review is to summarize the predictive ability of ovarian reserve markers, such as antral follicle count (AFC) and anti-Mullerian hormone (AMH), and the therapeutic strategies that have been proposed in IVF after this prediction.
A systematic review of the existing literature was performed by searching Medline, EMBASE, Cochrane library and Web of Science for publications in the English language related to AFC, AMH and their incorporation into controlled ovarian stimulation (COS) protocols in IVF. Literature available to May 2013 was included.
The search generated 305 citations of which 41 and 25 studies, respectively, reporting the ability of AMH and AFC to predict response to COS were included in this review. The literature review demonstrated that AFC and AMH, the most sensitive markers of ovarian reserve identified to date, are ideal in planning personalized COS protocols. These sensitive markers permit prediction of the whole spectrum of ovarian response with reliable accuracy and clinicians may use either of the two markers as they can be considered interchangeable. Following the categorization of expected ovarian response to stimulation clinicians can adopt tailored therapeutic strategies for each patient. Current scientific trend suggests the elective use of the GnRH antagonist based regimen for hyper-responders, and probably also poor responders, as likely to be beneficial. The selection of the appropriate and individualized gonadotrophin dose is also of paramount importance for effective COS and subsequent IVF outcomes.
Personalized IVF offers several benefits; it enables clinicians to give women more accurate information on their prognosis thus facilitating counselling especially in cases of extremes of ovarian response. The deployment of therapeutic strategies based on selective use of GnRH analogues and the fine tuning of the gonadotrophin dose on the basis of potential ovarian response in every single woman can allow for a safer and more effective IVF practice.
A classic approach in medical image registration is to formulate an optimization problem based on the image pair of interest, and seek a deformation vector field (DVF) to minimize the corresponding ...objective, often iteratively. It has a clear focus on the targeted pair, but is typically slow. In contrast, more recent deep-learning-based registration offers a much faster alternative and can benefit from data-driven regularization. However, learning is a process to "fit" the training cohort, whose image or motion characteristics or both may differ from the pair of images to be tested, which is the ultimate goal of registration. Therefore, generalization gap poses a high risk with direct inference alone.
In this study, we propose an individualized adaptation to improve test sample targeting, to achieve a synergy of efficiency and performance in registration.
Using a previously developed network with an integrated motion representation prior module as the implementation backbone, we propose to adapt the trained registration network further for image pairs at test time to optimize the individualized performance. The adaptation method was tested against various characteristics shifts caused by cross-protocol, cross-platform, and cross-modality, with test evaluation performed on lung CBCT, cardiac MRI, and lung MRI, respectively.
Landmark-based registration errors and motion-compensated image enhancement results demonstrated significantly improved test registration performance from our method, compared to tuned classic B-spline registration and network solutions without adaptation.

Wearables quantify the activity in team sports and indicate that players experience peak physical loads during competitions. Accordingly, players with limited court time in competitions will miss ...important training stimuli. The present study aimed to quantify these gaps in physical load in professional handball players. Activity of all players competing in the 2021/2022 Bundesliga (Germany) was tracked using Kinexon LPS sensors. Gaps in physical load were quantified comparing the 25% of appearances with the highest (HIGH; 51.8 ± 5.2 mins) and lowest court times (LOW; 10.1 ± 4.3 mins). Distances, accumulated acceleration, jumps, sprints, impacts, accelerations, and decelerations were analysed as absolute and relative (per minute) outcomes. Players were grouped into wings, backcourts, and pivots. Unpaired t-tests between HIGH and LOW were performed (p < .05), and effect sizes were calculated (Cohen´s d). Analyses revealed significant effects of court time on activity. While absolute activity increased for HIGH, relative activity increased for LOW (p < .05). In addition, effect sizes revealed position-specific gaps in physical load, particularly for acyclic activities (jumps, accelerations). Gaps in physical load resulting from limited court time are highly position-specific. Our observations may provide benchmarks for the position-specific calibration of compensatory training.

Psychologists often use the name of the protagonist of the fairy tale “Cinderella”, which is famous thanks to the brothers Grimm and Charles Perrault, for a sacrificial girl prone to dissociation, ...illusions, and waiting for a prince. This is typical for psychoanalysis. However, such an idea of Cinderella’s character does not fully reflect the essence of the matter. Moreover, it is generally not true. From the perspective of C.G. Jung’s analytical psychology, Cinderella is not a victim or an infantile dreamer and is not a real girl at all. Any tale represents an archetypal process of individuation. This is a collective natural constant of the psyche that excludes individual problems. Cinderella cultivated in herself what the ancient Greeks called “paideia” – the integrity of the personality and inner strength, influence on others. The purpose of the article is to describe the process of Cinderella’s individualization from the position of C.G. Jung’s archetypal approach based on the amplification method. The most relevant sources of recent years on the archetypal analysis of fairy tales are the works by M.-L. von Franz, H. Dieckmann, and C.P. Estés. The novelty of the study consists in the description and analysis of the archetypal images of the collective unconscious, which underlie the process of Cinderella’s individuation and determine her life path. These archetypal images are Persona, Self, Shadow, Anima/Animus, and the symbolic levels of the individuation process can be represented by such alchemical terms as “separation”, “multiplication”, “calcination”, “initiation”, “transformation”, “conjunction”, “solidification”. The levels testify to the character’s inner transformation and, as a result, lead to a happy woman’s destiny. The result of understanding the deep essence of the tale is a psychologist’s analytical work with modern young women, which will lead to positive changes in thinking and behavior.
AbstractResponsiveness is currently a hot topic in the psychotherapy literature with a large variation in what the term means to colleagues of various orientations. This adds to its popularity but ...limits the scope of whatever is written or said about responsiveness. The fact that the meaning of responsiveness has developed over time within the approaches adds also to the variation, while an understanding of development has the potential of deepening the understanding of each approach. As a fair description and comparison of even just the most important approaches is by far out of reach for a page-limited article, the development of one approach, which may be termed the "Bernese" approach is described here, along with lessons learnt and general comments. The approach includes Plan Analysis case formulations, the concept of complementary or Motive-Oriented Relationship, a description of a combined qualitative and quantitative assessment, and many methodological and conceptual considerations. Personal development is woven in. Overall, it seems fair to say that this approach, at its core developed long before responsiveness became popular, has turned out to still be useful, with a gain in depth as far as concepts and assessment are concerned.
Infochemicals, including hormones, pheromones, and allelochemicals, play a central role in mediating information and shaping interactions within and between individuals. Due to their high plasticity, ...infochemicals are predestined mediators in facilitating individualized niches of organisms. Only recently it has become clear that individual differences are essential to understand how and why individuals realize a tiny subset of the species' niche. Moreover, individual differences have a central role in both ecological adjustment and evolutionary adaptation in a rapidly changing world. Here we highlight that infochemicals act as key signals or cues and empower the realization of the individualized niche through three proposed processes: niche choice, niche conformance, and niche construction.
Individual differences are central in behavior, ecology, and evolution, because they determine which selective factors are relevant for an individual in interaction with its environment; yet ecological niches have rarely been studied on an individual level.The subset of the species’ niche realized by an individual is called its individualized niche and is implemented by three major processes: choice, conformance, and construction.Infochemicals can differ between individuals and empower the realization of the individualized niche. Combining hormones and semiochemicals under the term infochemicals highlights their common function in information transfer within or between organisms.We give several examples how chemical mediators, including hormones, pheromones, and allelochemicals, are essential in the realization of an individualized niche across the animal kingdom.
The enactment of Law Number 22 of 2022 concerning Corrections (Pemasyarakatan), which replaces the previous Law Number 12 of 1995, significantly changes the implementation of Correctional functions, ...mainly the functions carried out by Probation and Parole Offices. If in the 1995 Law Corrections is only referred to as the final part of the Criminal Justice System, the new Law emphasizes the position of Corrections which are more integrated with the entire criminal justice process, so that Correctional functions are carried out at the pre-adjudication, adjudication, and post-adjudication stages. This amendment to the law is also interesting to be studied conceptually, especially to find out what principles are contained in it that form the basis for implementing the functions of Corrections. In line with this, it is also essential to identify what kind of policy changes should be carried out regarding the functions of Probation and Parole Offices in the future with the existence of new principles and differences of provisions in terms of the implementation of corrections functions. By using conceptual analysis methods, particularly policy detection analysis, which is technically carried out in two stages; first, the analysis stage of the content of the law and second, the theoretical coherence analysis stage, this paper comes to two conclusions. First, this paper finds an affirmation of new principles in Law Number 22 of 2022, namely the principle of restorative reintegration, the principle of evidence-based treatments, the principle of individualization, the principle of continuity, and the principle of collaboration. Second, this paper identifies 5 (five) policy changes that need to be made regarding the function of the Probation and Parole Office according to those principles. The policies that must be implemented can be divided into three groups—first, the need for further operationalization of the restorative reintegration concept described by this law. Second, the need for reformulation of various instruments needed in implementing functions, especially social inquiry reports. Third, the need for facilitative strengthening, especially the quantity and quality of probation and parole officers and other facilitative supports.
Individual head-related transfer functions (HRTFs) are critical for binaural spatial audio rendering. In contrast to anthropometric parameters and pinnae images, 3D meshes allow for a more direct and ...comprehensive representation of the anthropometric structure, which provides highly effective inputs for modeling individualized HRTFs. This paper presents a neural network-based method for predicting individualized HRTFs in full space based on 3D meshes. Unlike many previous methods that estimate HRTF spectra at sampling grids or frequencies separately, the proposed model predicts the HRTF spectra of each vertical plane by considering the spectral correlation and continuity across adjacent sampling grids and frequencies. Evaluation results indicate that the proposed method enhances the prominence of peaks and notches in the obtained HRTF spectra and improves the speed and accuracy of HRTF individualization. The log spectral distortion of the proposed method is lower than that of state-of-the-art methods using anthropometric parameters and pinnae images. Further evaluation confirms that the proposed method requires significantly fewer points in 3D meshes when compared to numerical simulation methods. The evaluation based on localization models demonstrates that the HRTFs predicted by the proposed method are perceptually similar to the measured HRTFs.

Various new national advanced manufacturing strategies, such as Industry 4.0, Industrial Internet, and Made in China 2025, are issued to achieve smart manufacturing, resulting in the increasing ...number of newly designed production lines in both developed and developing countries. Under the individualized designing demands, more realistic virtual models mirroring the real worlds of production lines are essential to bridge the gap between design and operation. This paper presents a digital twin-based approach for rapid individualized designing of the hollow glass production line. The digital twin merges physics-based system modeling and distributed real-time process data to generate an authoritative digital design of the system at pre-production phase. A digital twin-based analytical decoupling framework is also developed to provide engineering analysis capabilities and support the decision-making over the system designing and solution evaluation. Three key enabling techniques as well as a case study in hollow glass production line are addressed to validate the proposed approach.
