This article is an exhibition about changing models of thought intended for Decolonial thinkers, questioning and provoking the massificator system that Latin American societies have lived since the ...Colonial process. The text is a part of research on development of models based on the promotion of communities and their protagonism, decreasing exogenous interference and promoters of simple speculative profit. Through what is called “Decolonial Turn” we sought to identify how the influence of the metropolis supplanted and replaced ways of being, thinking and doing traditional populations and those who were brought forcibly, characterizing the European pattern of development by capital and accumulation of goods, making them exclusive means of developing. Thus, it points to the proposition that the existence of the figure of the other is underlying the perception of the self, making mutual ontological dependence of these entities for the formation of social being. Finally, the concept of interculturalism brings to the Latin American the reflection of the need for the development by difference, giving voice to the silent, making them visible and protagonist of their journey towards the Good Living.
The present article analyses how cultivation of creativity underpins the possibility of rational dialogue with people who have
different cultural origins by confirming the
essentially productive ...character of human beings and contemplating creativity as a human
dimension with intrinsic value, linked to the
full realisation of the individual’s personality.
The phenomenon of creativity is examined as
an event that —sometimes dramatically— extracts the subject from the cultural world of
mediations formulated within her own tradition that she usually inhabits, thus revealing
to her a transcultural reality that manifests
itself clearly. Recognising this original reality
—which goes beyond the signifies constructed by different cultural traditions and from
which creative action occurs— is the starting
point for a true dialogue between cultures that
enables a process of cultural critique, in other
words, an examination of the validity of the
products or objectivities of one’s own culture
and the cultures of others
Switzerland is known for its multilingualism, yet not all languages are represented equally in society. The situation is exacerbated by the influx of heritage languages and English through migration ...and globalization processes which challenge the traditional education system. This study is the first to investigate how schools in Grisons, Fribourg, and Zurich negotiate neoliberal forces leading to a growing necessity of English, a romanticized view on national languages, and the social justice perspective of institutionalizing heritage languages. It uncovers power and legitimacy issues and showcases students' and teachers' complex identities to advocate equitable multilingual education.
“Digital Thrace: Mapping the History and Culture to Enhance the Tourist Economy” is a three-year (2021–2023) research project conducted by the Democritus University of Thrace. “Thrace,” a ...geographical rather than a regional or political designation, is divided into three nation-states (Greece, Bulgaria, and Turkey). Despite historical nationalist conflicts and ethnic stereotypes, Thrace maintains its multicultural character. This article shows that the Digital Thrace Project not only generates research but also transforms it into knowledge and cultural experiences for visitors. It bridges the gap between academic historiography and cultural studies on one side and the public space on the other. This multidisciplinary and interdisciplinary project employs cutting-edge technologies to provide two main components to its users: a digital platform primarily aimed at researchers and educators, and a digital tour application for the general public. Special attention is devoted to the project’s pedagogical section. Based on the principles and methodologies of intercultural and democratic education, over 30 educational projects have been designed for primary and secondary school classes. These projects aim to engage students in exploring not only the history and culture of their own communities but also those of the others.

The project Journey To The Stars (VALE), is a study that aims to provide students of the Educational Institution (IE) La Libertad in Medellin - Colombia, new learning spaces to recognize and learn ...about other worldviews of the universe from the scientific discourse and the ancestral legacy obtained by native cultures. The articulation between the topics addressed, the curricular transformation of the IE, the recognition of the gender gap in the vocational tendencies of girls and young women, are the most relevant aspects that emerged from the study, enabling interculturality from the ancestral knowledge in astronomy from the legacy that endures in our culture.
The main purpose of this article is to formulate a defence of the emerging intercultural policy paradigm for the benefit of those who are still somewhat reluctant to accept its proper place within ...the current migration-related diversity policy debate. My defence will take two main lines of argumentation:
Firstly, I will state that the increasing intensity of the intercultural policy paradigm must be placed in the present-day post-multicultural period, which recognizes the strengths of the multicultural policy paradigm but also the limits to its process for recognizing differences. The role played by the emerging national civic policy paradigm (a renovated version of assimilation), prioritizing duties before rights, will also be considered crucial to better contextualize interculturalism.
Secondly, I will try to identify the main distinctive features of interculturalism, which legitimize its proper place within the diversity debate today. Without rejecting rights-based and duties-based policy approaches, interculturalism places more emphasis on a contacts-based policy approach, aimed at fostering communication and relationships among people from different backgrounds, including national citizens. This approach focuses on common bonds rather than differences. It also views diversity as an advantage and a resource, and centres its policy goals on community cohesion and reframing a common public culture that places diversity within rather than outside the so-called Unity. In reviewing the current literature and the origins of the intercultural policy paradigm, I restate its contribution towards resolving current trends in transnationalism, changing identities, superdiversity and the rise of populist anti-immigrant parties. These are issues the old multicultural project has struggled to deal with, which has provoked the current disillusionment. Lastly, I will propose a research avenue to further consolidate interculturalism as a distinctive and legitimate policy approach.
The study analyzes interculturalism and its contributions to the teaching practices in elementary schools in Brazil. Its aim was to identify, within the practices described in the reports of the ...Programa Institucional de Bolsa de Iniciação à Docência - Pibid, didactic doings that demonstrate particular commitment to learning situations that have focused on dialogue, polyphony and originality of insights on the topics under study. The conclusion brings some possibilities, understood as being intercultural, for teaching practices at school.
