This paper aims to reflect on internationalisation in social work education in a collaborative context. The research question addressed is how collaborative online international learning (COIL) ...supports the concept of Internationalisation at Home (IaH) to promote glocal knowledge in innovative social work education. The study is case-based, in which a thematic webinar on human rights issues connected students of social work from various countries in an international classroom. It discusses how the concept of Internationalisation at Home can be used effectively in practice through participatory design and participant feedback. The main conclusion of this case-based paper is that social work education should promote innovative learning scenarios that support the glocal approach, so that students are able to ‘act locally and think globally’, supported by a blended learning design.
Globalizacija je proces, ki zaznamuje praktično vse sfere družbenega življenja, tudi izobraževanje oziroma konkretneje univerzo, z njenim izrednim študijem pa tudi izobraževanje odraslih. ...Internacionalizacija je bistvena konstitutivna lastnost univerze (poleg akademske svobode, avtonomije, kolegialnega vodenja in elitnosti), ki je skozi čas, predvsem v obdobju nacionalne zaprtosti, zbledela. Vsako zgodovinsko obdobje je univerzi in njeni internacionalizaciji dalo neizbrisan pečat, zato moramo novodobni proces ponovne internacionalizacije univerze razumeti v kontekstu današnjih neoliberalnih motivov. Univerza si mora prizadevati, da obdrži svoj konstitutivni člen – internacionalizacijo, pri čemer pa bo morala braniti svoje akademske korenine nasproti neoliberalnim tržnim vplivom (na primer GATS), ki poleg vprašljive kakovosti prinašajo tudi skrb vzbujajoči akademski imperializem.

Daugelyje pasaulio šalių ...internacionalizacija laikoma prioritetine aukštojo mokslo plėtros kryptimi, tačiau jos padariniai nėra vien teigiami. Didžiausią finansinę naudą iš tarptautinio bendradarbiavimo gauna palyginti nedaug labiausiai išsivysčiusių šalių, įdiegusių rinkos santykius savo aukštojo mokslo sistemose ir įvedusių mokamas studijas. O mažesnėms šalims ir jų gimtosioms kalboms švietimo internacionalizacija gali būti ne tik naudinga, bet ir žalinga. Lietuva taip pat susidūria tiek su teigiamais, tiek su neigiamais aukštojo mokslo internacionalizacijos padariniais. Geresnis internacionalizacijos keliamų iššūkių pažinimas leistų Lietuvai sėkmingiau formuoti savo aukštojo mokslo politiką.
S ubrzanim razvojem i velikim rastom popularnosti video igara, u posljednjih nekoliko godina industrija video igara doživjela je značajan proces globalizacije. Video igre danas su bitan faktor u ...industriji digitalne zabave i privlače mnoge igrače, bez obzira na spol, dob, društveni, politički ili ekonomski status. Ta popularnost i brz razvoj video igara dovode do sve veće potrebe da tvrtke svoje video igre učine dostupnim što većem broju ljudi kako bi se postigao visok povrat financijskih ulaganja. Stoga je očita želja i potreba da se video igre ciljano prilagode svim potencijalnim korisnicima, ma gdje god se oni nalazili. To je iznimno važan čimbenik zadovoljstva igrača, i kao takav vrlo je važan u savladavanju jezične barijere, promociji međunarodnog imidža tvrtke te postizanju dobrih poslovnih rezultata. No, to znači da je video igru potrebno prilagoditi velikom broju jezika, kulturnim razlikama, načinima govora i razmišljanja, a ujedno kako bi se uklonilo sve ono što nije prikladno za ciljano tržište. Jedno od mogućih rješenja za prilagodbu međunarodnom tržištu svakako je lokalizacija, čijom se primjenom nastoje zadovoljiti potrebe svih igrača i tržišta. Video igre, međutim, imaju specifične značajke koje ih razlikuju od ostalih medija, budući da su u središtu interakcija igrača i grafički elementi igre, što je jedinstveno u odnosu na prevođenje romana ili igranog filma. Ovaj rad daje pregled strategija za prilagodbu video igara te karakteristike tijeka prilagodbe, s posebnim osvrtom na pristup lokalizacije kao i probleme i otvorena pitanja u procesu prilagodbe video igara međunarodnom tržištu.
With the rapid development and great growth in popularity of video games, the video game industry has undergone a significant process of globalization in recent years. Video games are an essential factor in the digital entertainment industry today and attract many players, regardless of gender, age, social, political or economic status. This popularity and rapid development of video games is leading to the growing need for companies to make their video games available to as many people as possible in order to achieve a high return on fi nancial investments. Therefore, there is an obvious desire and need for video games to be tailored to all potential users, wherever they are. This is an extremely important factor in player satisfaction, and as such is very important in overcoming the language barrier, promoting the company’s international image and achieving good business results. But this means that the video game needs to be adapted to a large number of languages, cultural diff erences, ways of speaking and thinking, and at the same time to remove everything that is not suitable for the target market. One of the possible solutions for adapting to the international market is certainly localization, the application of which seeks to meet the needs of all players and markets. Video games, however, have specific features that distinguish them from other media, as they focus on player interactions and graphic elements of a game, which is unique compared to translating a novel or film. This paper provides an overview of video game adaptation strategies and the characteristics of the adaptation flow, with special emphasis on the localization approach as well as problems and open issues in the process of adapting video games to the international market.
U radu se nudi povijesni pregled razvoja izučavanja hrvatske politike na Fakultetu političkih znanosti od osnivanja institucije do danas. Razdoblje prije demokratskih promjena bilo je obilježeno ...relativno nepovoljnim uvjetima za razvoj izučavanja nacionalne politike, kako zbog dominantne koncepcije studija koja je poricala samostalnost politologije tako i zbog političkoga i društvenog konteksta. Pa ipak, već u 1960-im i 1970-im godinama nastaju prve studije koje se bave biračkim ponašanjem i funkcioniranjem predstavničkih tijela. Višestruka tranzicija na prijelazu iz 1980-ih u 1990-e godine donijela je i otvaranje novih tema u izučavanju hrvatske politike, a započela je i emancipacija domaće politologije kao samostalne znanstvene discipline. Nakon 2000. godine proučavanje hrvatske politike doživjet će puni procvat istraživanja te tematsku i metodološku raznorodnost. U recentnim godinama primjetno je i osjetno povećanje broja radova objavljenih u vrhunskim međunarodnim publikacijama, što dovodi do povećanja vidljivosti i internacionalizacije ne samo proučavanja hrvatske politike već i hrvatske politologije u cjelini.
The paper offers a historical overview of the development of the study of Croatian politics at the Faculty of Political Science. The pre-democratic period was marked by relatively unfavorable conditions for the study of national politics, due both to the dominant conception of the curriculum that denied the independence of political science, as well as the political and social context. Yet, already in the 1960s and 1970s, first studies dealing with voter behavior and the functioning of representative bodies were conducted. The multiple transition in late 1980s and early 1990s introduced new topics and led to the emancipation of national political science. After 2000, the study of Croatian politics experienced new diversity in method and scope. Recently, there has been a significant increase in papers published in top international journals, leading to greater visibility and internationalization of the study of Croatian politics, but also of Croatian political science in general.
Globalization, surely one of the most used and abused buzzwords of recent decades, describes a phenomenon that is typically considered to be a neutral and inevitable expansion of market forces across ...the planet. Nearly all economists, politicians, business leaders, and mainstream journalists view globalization as the natural result of economic development, and a beneficial one at that. But, as noted economist Martin Hart-Landsberg argues, this perception does not match the reality of globalization. The rise of transnational corporations and their global production chains was the result of intentional and political acts, decisions made at the highest levels of power. Their aim - to increase profits by seeking the cheapest sources of labor and raw materials - was facilitated through policy-making at the national and international levels, and was largely successful. But workers in every nation have paid the costs, in the form of increased inequality and poverty, the destruction of social welfare provisions and labor unions, and an erratic global economy prone to bubbles, busts, and crises. This book examines the historical record of globalization and restores agency to the capitalists, policy-makers, and politicians who worked to craft a regime of world-wide exploitation. It demolishes their neoliberal ideology - already on shaky ground after the 2008 financial crisis - and picks apart the record of trade agreements like NAFTA and institutions like the WTO. But, crucially, Hart- Landsberg also discusses alternatives to capitalist globalization, looking to examples such as South America's Bolivarian Alliance for the Americas (ALBA) for clues on how to build an international economy based on solidarity, social development, and shared prosperity.
„Nedoumice“ između višejezičnosti u teoriji i engleskoga kao lingue france u praksi tiču se poslijebolonjskoga europskoga visokog obrazovanja u cjelini. Ovaj rad prikazuje primjer Slovenije putem ...analize sličnih izazova prisutnih u slovenskoj (visokoobrazovnoj) jezičnoj politici. Stanje se stvari sagledava s aspekta prihvaćanja statusa slovenskoga jezika kao službenoga jezika Republike Slovenije, kao i prihvaćanja potrebe za većom uključenosti stranih studenata i nastavnika i daljnjeg unapređenja kvalitete visokoga obrazovanja. U radu se predstavljaju rezultati ispitivanja koja su provedena u listopadu 2012. godine među najvažnijim dionicima slovenskoga visokog obrazovanja s ciljem istraživanja stajališta o uporabi jezika poučavanja u visokome obrazovanje. Rezultati su analizirani s pogledom na izraženo stajalište u vezi s uporabom jezika u visokome obrazovanju, što je dovelo do uspostavljanja triju skupina mišljenja unutar uzorka studenata i nastavnika Sveučilišta u Ljubljani. Na temelju analize dostupnih izvora, rasprava, mišljenja, ispitivanja i intervjua donose se određene preporuke o regulaciji uporabe jezika u visokome obrazovanju u Sloveniji.

Pagrindinė monografijoje keliamų problemų ašis – religijos vieta ir vaidmuo nacijų raidoje, nacionalinių santykių struktūroje. Autorius kritikuojamas dėl griežtokų ar menkiau motyvuotų teiginių, minties pasikartojimų.
