Prikazujući osnovne makroekonomske indikatore, kao i strukturu izvoza i uvoza Albanije, Bosne i Hercegovine, Crne Gore, Severne Makedonije i Srbije, odnosno njihove najznačajnije spoljnotrgovinske partnere, autor daje uporednu analizu stanja privreda država Zapadnog Balkana i obrazlaže dominantnu ulogu Srbije u ovom regionu.

Uz dobru diverzifikaciju svog investicijskog portfelja, investitori mogu ostvariti zadovoljavajuće prinose uz smanjenu izloženost riziku.
The high volatility of the capital market and the cryptocurrency market, along with the omnipresent inflation, creates an everyday uncertainty for investors regarding returns on their investments. The purpose of this paper was to research returns on investing in cryptocurrencies as a high-risk investment, compared to investing in the S&P 500 index fund, or the European equivalent, the Vanguard 500 index fund, as a relatively low-risk investment. The research showed that, regardless of the high market volatility, the cryptocurrency portfolio showed a higher return on invested USD 10,000.00 in relation to the Vanguard 500 by 2,368.66% from 2017 to 2021, i.e., by 1,150.75% from 2017 to 2022. Investors should have a good knowledge of the characteristics of their investments, the risks, and potential returns. With a good diversification of their investment portfolio, investors can generate satisfying returns with decreased risk exposure
Focusing on human capital, social investments provide an answer to the social challenges facing social development in recent decades. In the context of human capital, investing in health has multiple ...channels of influence especially if it is present from an early age: a person will stay active longer, be more productive and contribute to the economy and society. The paper aims to gain an insight into the extent to which Croatia’s health policy is in line with the concept of social investment presented through the European Commission’s document Investing in Health, which builds on the basic document on social investment: Towards Social Investment for Growth and Cohesion. For this purpose, the analysis of strategic health policy documents and the comparative analysis of data on investments in the health system from both the Eurostat database and domestic data sources are used. There is also a detailed comparative analysis of (in) equality of access to health services in Croatia in the EU context, and of the importance of individual components of health care from the perspective of social investment. It is noticed that the Croatian health policy follows the idea of social investment described in the document Investing in Health with certain shortcomings, but there is a shift towards overcoming some shortcomings such as, for example, a serious lack of evaluation in the implementation of certain measures and programs adopted. Key words: health investment, social investments, human capital, health policy
The issue of human capital in the present-day industrially and technologically driven society is becoming an increasingly hot topic. For enterprises in Slovakia thus it presents achallenge to respond ...to the current trends such as gradual robotization that will lead to the replacement of less qualified jobs by technology in the nearest years. For these reasons also, countries, enterprises or individuals must invest more in the development of human capital but at the same time take into account the return on this investment from the enterprises‘perspective. The purpose of this paper is to find out how and how much time enterprises in Slovakia devote to the issue of the relationship between the development of human resources and investment in human capital. We also aim to explore whether enterprises assess this investment in human capital at all and in which way they do it. In this paper, we used quantitative research, namely a questionnaire method, which showed that enterprises in Slovakia do not largely invest in the development of their employees. Most companies invest in the development of employees by providing work-related training courses or by offering lectures, workshops and seminars. The results suggest that enterprises most frequently calculate remuneration costs and annual staffing costs that can be considered as traditional methods which, however, represent employees as companies‘humanresources being their liability not an asset they need to develop and invest into.
The goal of this paper is to discuss the heterogeneity of Croatian Diaspora based on a number of factors which could be used to potentially formulate and implement the politics directed toward Croats ...outside the Republic of Croatia. The paper is based on an analysis of 28 interviews and 11 focus groups, which altogether included 87 members of Croatian diaspora communities and repatriates and immigrants in Croatia. They provided us with a deeper insight into the current state of Croatian communities in the US, Canada, Argentina, Chile, Venezuela, Paraguay, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Denmark, Norway, Sweden and Australia. From these perspectives, we have analyzed the main provisions of the Act on the Relations of the Republic of Croatia with the Croats Abroad, which is the main legislative act in terms of providing a framework for the diaspora politics of Croatia.
No nisu ostvareni željeni ciljevi povećanja razvoja, posebno gospodarskoga razvoja ruralnih i slabije naseljenih područja te zadržavanja i povećanja broja stanovnika.

Small and medium sized-enterprises (SMEs) are often seen as a sector important for job creation. About 2/3 of the overall employment is provided by this sector, both in the EU and in the Republic of ...Serbia. There is evidence that SMEs are responsible for the most part of the net employment growth. The SMEs sector in Serbia is identified as sector which can absorb a part of the unemployment generated by the large scale enterprises’ (LSEs) restructuring and privatization. Today, the unemployment rate in Serbia is high above the average unemployment rate in the EU. The question is whether the SMEs sector can absorb that unemployment, or is this sector more influenced by the crisis, relative to the LSEs. The aim of this paper is to examine the employment contribution of the SMEs in the Republic of Serbia. Furthermore, the paper will deal with the impact of the crisis on the SMEs’ employment, efficiency and their investment activities. The problems that are identified by SMEs, and that lead to rising unemployment in this sector over the past few years will be considered and analyzed.
