V trenutku odhoda Janeza Stanovnika (1922–2020), očeta naroda, ki je izšel iz krščanskega socializma, v večnost je pred menoj obsežno delo Primoža Reparja Dar osebe: Kocbek, Gosar, Krek: Via Nova ...pravda. Že začetek tega dela (v nadaljevanju Dar osebe) z uvodno formulacijo Krščanski socializem na Slovenskem via nova pravda (9) takoj pritegne. Tu so imena, ki jih povezujemo z idejo organizirane solidarnosti, imenovane socializem, in takoj se postavi vprašanje, kako misliti nekaj, kar je ta trenutek demonizirano, velja za psovko, komunajzarstvo, totalitarizem. Podnaslov tega izjemnega dela bi se lahko glasil Filozofija družabnosti in pojem družabnost je v Daru osebe eden najbolj nosilnih in tudi temeljito razložen. Gre za pot, ki ostaja spodbuda, torej duhovna popotnica v smislu »možnosti tudi za novo ubranost politične skupnosti na Slovenskem« (11), tej poti pa vsekakor velja prisluhniti.

The turn of the twentieth century in Slovenian culture was marked by a movement, later dubbed “political Catholicism.” The cultural and economic narrative which arose from the movement was in the ...long term of much greater importance than the political objectives of the Catholic movement itself. The aim of this article is to describe the narrative from the point of view of its most prominent representative, Janez Evangelist Krek (1865–1917).
Doctor Krek’s conservative social reforms were able to become one of the pillars of the Slovenian collective consciousness solely because they could be bent to conform to the recurring cultural templates used by the Slovenian society to accept and reshape changes since as early as the beginning of nineteenth century. The imagery constituted by these templates is termed domestic in the article. This is to mean that it is based upon pre-modern cultural capital and traditional survival strategies. Doctor Krek’s work is proof of the ease with which domestic imagery “swallowed” modernity and “spat it out” onto the fringe of society, into the sphere of technical developments, which was then used to protect conservative values and institutions. Paradoxically, it was only in this form that the domestic imagery allowed for the relatively easy acceptance of socialism after World War II.
Članek skuša razrešiti slogovna vprašanja, ki nastanejo ob preučevanju opusa Uroša Kreka. Navidezno neskladje med visoko estetsko vrednostjo del in njihovo neinovativnostjo je razrešeno s pomočjo ...oznake »klasik slovenske glasbe 20. stoletja«, kar je recepcijska oznaka, ki prevzema tako vrednostne kot tudi zgodovinske in lokalne determinante. Kot osnova razpravi služijo analize štirih skladateljevih del za godala.
Ciril Žebot je bil član Akademskega kluba Straža in tesen sodelavec prof. Lamberta Ehrlicha. Zavzemal se je za zedinjeno in suvereno Slovenijo. VOS je pripravljal njegovo »likvidacijo«, medtem ko ga ...je Gestapo zasledoval že od leta 1941, zato se je po italijanski kapitulaciji 1943 pred Nemci umaknil v Rim. Bil je tajnik Intermaria in ustanovil je Akcijski odbor za zedinjeno Slovenijo. Bil je profesor primerjalnih gospodarskih sistemov na univerzah v Pittsburgu in Washingtonu. Veljal je za voditelja gibanja za osamosvojitev Slovenije. V Kanadi in ZDA je organiziral »Gibanje za samostojno slovensko državo« in pomagal ustanoviti list Slovenska država. Ciril Žebot je imel prijateljske odnose s senatorjem Lauschetom, ki je bil slovenskega porekla. Posredoval je številne spomenice v Belo hišo, na zunanje ministrstvo in v kongres. Leta 1968 je bil na povabilo Staneta Kavčiča prvič v Sloveniji. Po cestni aferi je bil deležen hudega napada s strani Edvarda Kardelja. Žebot je Kardeljeve napade prepričljivo zavrnil v brošuri Odgovor Edvardu Kardelju. Udba je vse do padca komunističnega režima budno spremljala politične emigrante, prav posebno pa Cirila Žebota, ki je veljav za enega največjih nasprotnikov režima. Zapustil je precej obsežno publicistično delo, številne strokovne knjige ter politične in gospodarske prispevke. Izdal je dve knjigi z naslovom Slovenija včeraj, danes in jutri 1967 in 1969 in leta 1988 monografijo Neminljiva Slovenija. Žebotove knjige so bile v Sloveniji prepovedane.
The article provides a historical overview of the presence of the Catholic Church in social and political life from the first encyclical Rerum Novarum until today, with particular reference to the ...Slovenian geographical space. From the very definition of the Church's social doctrine as a special theological discipline, it is clear that this sphere of research has been subject to historical changes, as presented in the first chapter of this articles. The diversity of views on the relationship between religion, society and politics has resonated visibly across Slovenian social circles. Between the two world wars, Slovenia was wholly comparable to the neighboring, especially Western European countries in terms of the Slovenians’ active role as Christians in the society. The most important actors in this were Janez Evangelist Krek, Andrej Gosar and Edvard Kocbek, whose socially active role is presented in the following two chapters. The progress of this process was blocked for half a century with the communist revolution in the period during and after the second world war, which is presented in the fourth chapter. After the Second Vatican Council, the Church's social doctrine was subject to some significant changes, and Slovenians adapted to them fairly well. Due to the powerful pressures exerted by the laicist and secularist culture in the Slovenian environment, both society and the state lag significantly behind other European countries in terms of relations between faith and reason, between the laymen and the Christian culture, between the church and the state. The Catholic Church's vision of the presence of Christians in modern society is relatively clear and has been reshaped under the last few popes, which is the subject of the final chapter of the article.
Prispevek prinaša pogled na ustvarjalna izhodišča in rešitve letos preminulega akademika, skladatelja, profesorja kompozicije na ljubljanski Akademiji za glasbo, etnomuzikologoga in radijskega ...glasbenega urednika Uroša Kreka. Obravnava opus, ki je z vzvišeno preprostostjo že zarana postal in z vsakim novim delom ostajal deležen iskrene hvaležnosti tako izvajalcev kot poslušalcev. Krekov opus se izmika togosti glasboslovnih značnic in ga vezem s preteklostjo navkljub prežema čar nekakšne neminljive igre. Zaradi obojega je še posebej umetniško privlačen v obdobju, ko ustvarjalci skušajo združiti za 20. stoletje tako značilno hrepenenje po novem, ki so ga mnogi ustvarjalci skušali najti v temeljitem odstopanju od minulega in uveljavljenega, z ustvarjalnim zanosom, ki ohranja in spodbuja pristnost dialoga s preteklostjo in uveljavljenimi umetniškimi merniki.
In memoriam Urošu Kreku (1922-2008), klasiku novejše slovenske glasbe, avtorju obsežnega in dragocenega orkestralnega, komornega, klavirskega in zborovskega opusa ponuja v premislek oporne točke in ...premise njegovega skladateljevanja. Analizira njegovo duhovno osišče, temeljni odnos do glasbe in vrsto strateških odločitev, ki pogojujejo fiziognomijo njegove kompozicijske tehnike. Umešča ga pogojno v področje neoklasicističnega ludizma in avtonomije glasbe ter obravnava avtorjev odnos do modernizma, novega in tradicije, do zgodovinskega in ljudskega glazbenega izročila.
The article describes the creative views and solutions of Uroš Krek, a prominent Slovenian musician composer, professor of composition at the Academy of Music in Ljubljana, ethnomusicologist and ...chief broadcasting music editor, academician of the Slovenian, Croatian and European Academies of Sciences and Arts, who passed away on 3. May 2008. The article presents an oeuvre that was crowned with genuine gratitude by performers and audiences thanks to its sublime simplicity from the very beginning of the composer’s career. One can seldom find a composer’s output in which - despite its deep rootedness in the past, especially in neoclassicism and in folk music - the role of spiritual creativity is so distinctive as not to allow to compare the music with past futures, because it somehow resists ageing.
