Purpose. The logistics system is considered an integral component of the development of modern society. Logistics of supply, storage and production are components of the logistics support of the ...agricultural sector of the economy. The efficiency of commodity flows and the development of individual industries as a whole depends on the work of transport and logistics support. Advances in technology and management principles are improving the movement of goods, speed of delivery, quality of service, operating costs, use of facilities, and energy savings. The importance of the impact of transport and infrastructure facilities for product storage on the logistics support system is identified, which causes the problem of maintaining an appropriate level of storage quality. Methodology. The research is based on the methods of analysis, synthesis and comparison. Causal analysis was used to determine the key indicators of the methodology for assessing the effectiveness of logistics support of the agricultural sector. The purpose of the work is to study the characteristics and systematization of the characteristics of logistics support of the agrarian sector of the economy of Ukraine. Practical implications. The practical value of the work lies in the substantiation and highlighting of system characteristics of logistics support of the agricultural sector of Ukraine. Agro-industrial complex is one of the main levers of influence on the formation of export potential of Ukraine. The largest volume of sales, in particular export deliveries, is determined by the branch of crop production, where the largest share is taken by grain and oil-bearing crops. The specifics of the organization of supply chains and logistics determine the complexity of the construction and operation of logistics infrastructure. The hidden impact of logistics costs both on the supply chain as a whole and on its individual sections is reflected in the profitability and profitability of enterprises and the industry. In this regard, the systematization of indicators and their use in the real assessment of the functioning of logistics infrastructure allows to identify bottlenecks in the organization of integrated supply chains of the agricultural sector. Value/originality. The specifics of this study are manifested in the identification of the peculiarities of the functioning of logistics infrastructure, which allow to define indicators for its assessment as an integral system that adapts to changes in the domestic and foreign markets.
Among the missions carried out by the Air Force there are those of supporting the RSOM process with specialized forces of all forces involved in conducting combat joint operations, which leads to ...considerable effort on their part and related support needs, mainly concerning the transport of forces by air. The involvement of the Air Force, in particular through the use of strategic transport aircraft but also through the provision of aerodrome infrastructure and cargo and passenger processing capabilities, makes the deployment of forces a key element in the economy and the success of joint operations. The RSOM process is mainly characterized as complex and the involvement of the air force through the use of specialized forces and means in the transport of forces can be considered in some operational situations as the best option, in some cases the only choice within the deployment stage of the joint operation.
•The safety and economic risk model is presented for the marine support system.•A risk-based cost-benefit analysis to evaluate the feasibility of the offshore Resource Centre is provided.•The novel ...probabilistic loss function models are proposed to assess the impact of potential accident and response time.•The effectiveness of the proposed models is demonstrated through a real case study.
Marine Logistics support during regular and emergency operations in remote North Atlantic regions is risky due to longer helicopter flying distances and extreme environmental conditions. In this paper, the safety and economic aspects of the previously introduced concept of an intermediate offshore resource centre (ORC) are evaluated. The ORC goals are to provide an intermediate helicopter landing station and a forward staging area for emergency response. Among many advantages, an ORC mitigates the logistical risk associated with the extended distance from shore support by reducing the response time in the case of accidents. This paper presents a risk-based cost-benefit analysis of the ORC. A probabilistic loss function model is developed based on the costs of historical offshore blowout incidents and their corresponding response times. The cost and benefit model is simulated in a probabilistic framework using a Monte Carlo simulation. The developed methodology and model help to assess the financial viability of an ORC in order to assist in informed decision-making regarding risk reduction measures.
In view of increasing attention focused on patient safety and the need to reduce laboratory errors, it is important that clinical laboratories collect statistics on error occurrence rates over the ...whole testing cycle, including pre-, intra-, and postanalytical phases.
The present study was conducted in 2006 according to the design we previously used in 1996 to monitor the error rates for laboratory testing in 4 different departments (internal medicine, nephrology, surgery, and intensive care). For 3 months, physicians and nurses were asked to pay careful attention to all test results. Any suspected laboratory error was recorded with associated pertinent clinical information. Every day, a laboratory physician visited the 4 departments and a critical appraisal was made of any suspect results.
Among a total of 51 746 analyses, clinicians notified us of 393 questionable findings, 160 of which were confirmed as laboratory errors. The overall frequency of errors, 3092 ppm, was significantly lower (P <0.05) than in 1996 (4700 ppm). Of the 160 confirmed errors, 61.9% were preanalytical errors, 15% were analytical, and 23.1% were postanalytical.
During the last decade the error rates in our stat laboratory have been reduced significantly. As demonstrated by the distribution pattern, the pre- and postanalytical steps still have the highest error prevalences, but changes have occurred in the types and frequencies of errors in these phases of testing.
Conceptual changes in the last period of time in terms of normative regulation of logistical support in post-conflict operations, highlights the fact that most often the conceptual plan takes place ...before The normative plan and the distances existing between the time of occurrence and implementation of concepts, definitions, summaries, deadlines and regulatory regulation, are becoming larger in particular because of the fluid way in which The aforementioned military actions and due to the involvement or non-involvement of NATO (EU) member States in the efforts of the two organisations.
The fundamental objective of the military units’ logistic system during peacetime is ensuring necessary logistic support for the military personnel to properly carry out the training and instruction ...activities in order to fulfill the missions assigned to the military units at every hierachical level. Concurrently, the logistic system of the military units during peacetime tracks the supply of material assets for emergency situations, crisis, mobilization and war. Achieving logistic support for military units during peacetime depends on a number of principles that underpin the provision of high-quality logistic support necessary for the fulfillment of the basic mission and the fundamental objectives of each military structure.
Objectives With the rapid development of naval equipment and its increasing use frequency and failure rate, the traditional repair mode has limitations. This paper puts forward a rapid prototyping ...manufacturing (RPM) and equipment design method used in ship maintenance support. Methods Based on the hardware, software, technology and materials, the integration technology of rapid prototyping equipment is researched according to the actual situation of the ship. The design method of quick removal and combination using the equipment movement mechanism is adopted, achieving rapid prototyping repair with nitrogen as the shielding gas. The key technologies and methods of rapid prototyping repair are then studied, including technology, shape coordination and control, and post-repair treatment. Results The results of this study show that mobile rapid prototyping repair equipment with quick removal and combination can help to settle the problems of the online repair of real ships; marine nitrogen can be used as the shielding gas, which is convenient and affordable; and the dust collection system module greatly reduces the pollution of equipment in prototyping repairing process. Conclusions The developed quick removal and combination equipment for prototyping repair, which helps to realize "repair in case of damage" for ships under on-site conditions, can help to meet the requirements of accompanying support for spare ship equipment parts under actual combat conditions.
Increased demand for U.S. electricity generation will require the construction of hundreds of new power plants in the coming decades. We examine attitudinal data from the 2008 MIT Energy Survey to ...measure public support for and opposition to the local siting of power plants. Substantial majorities of Americans oppose the location of coal, natural gas, and nuclear power plants in their area, although a majority supports local siting of wind facilities. We find that attitudes about plant siting depend heavily on perceptions of the environmental harm and costs of specific facilities; the effects of these attributes are similar across different types of fuel sources, suggesting that there is a common underlying structure to an individual's attitude. That is, people view all power sources in the same framework and differentiate them on perceived endowments, the most important of which is environmental harm.
Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) applied in the world-class shipbuilding industry has set significant trends in the processes and life cycles of the products and/or systems developed. COTECMAR as a ...Countrywide pioneer company in this sector, with specific strengths in naval prototypes, has been developing actions together with the National Navy to integrate concepts related to ILS, in its processes. Therefore, a detailed analysis of how these processes are facing the requirements of such support, has become necessary, starting from the initial basis of the possible advantages and opportunities for improvement that this could bring to the corporation and the sector. This is based on the theoretical and conceptual foundations in the ILS framework and how these are developed in the company under analysis.
