This paper aims at presenting a scope of pattern making teaching under the notions of Sensible Knowledge Pedagogy. Taking into consideration that the principle of current teaching methodologies are a ...reflection of the Cartesian Logics of the knowledge construction, the aim of the present study is to explore the limits and possibilities of the teaching and learning process of pattern making, aiming at encouraging the students of the area to establish various connections that might arouse from the dialogue between a garment and the human body. More specifically, it starts from the reports and concerns of the researchers as students and teachers of this course, as well as the bibliographic reference of this theme, attempted to trace an overview on the pattern making teaching as an experience, its relationships with the teaching and learning process and with the knowledge construction by the professionals of the Fashion Design College Degree. The study points to the remarkable presence of the instructional character of the teaching practices in regards to the tradicional pattern making, enhanced by methodologies and instructional materials that concentrate on the establishment orders and pre-determined models. Finally, some paths are outlined less rectilinear for the teaching and knowledge of this subject that can be confronted, in an educational context, not only as a step for the productive process, but also from the capability of building a territory within esthetic experimentation.
The present study displays the result of the application of the methodological phases of the MODThink model by Emídio (2018), in the context of an academic project of the first year of the Fashion ...Design course at the State University of Londrina. Through the application of the bionic creativity tool, it demonstrates how it was possible to include the concept of the project in product modeling, in addition to contributing to aspects of addressed to sustainability.
This paper describes the results achieved through an integrated assignment performed during the 2nd semester of 2019 in the undergraduate course of Fashion Design at the State University of Londrina ...(UEL, in the Portuguese acronym), whose pedagogical project is grounded on the Project-Based Learning (PjBL) and on an interdisciplinary approach.Conducted with the first-year students, this study intends to analyze the pedagogical efforts performed to promote the development of their ability with the formal syntax in fashion design and the garment pattern making as parts that combine to build the project thinking. In order to do so, we applied a methodological approach based on a collection of imagery boards and the organization of the MODThink model (EMÍDIO, 2018).
In Fashion Design, modeling requires professional knowledge of measurements, fabrics, sewing and sewing technologies, as well as knowing how to interpret basic mathematics data, shapes, trends and ...calculations. Therefore, mathematical concepts are relevant aspects in the processes of flat and three-dimensional modeling. This article aims to analyze, interdisciplinarily, from the student perspective, the relationship between knowledge of mathematics and modeling, in the teaching-learning process of a higher education course in Fashion Design Technology. To this end, a case study, exploratory-comparative, of a qualitative and quantitative nature was carried out in the Higher Technology Course in Fashion Design, at a private college in Recife-PE. It was found that students have a gap in relation to basic mathematical knowledge, recognize their difficulty and see interdisciplinarity as an alternative to solve this problem, because the low knowledge of Fashion Design students on mathematics interferes negatively in the adequate development of knowledge about modeling.

This article reflects on the importance of collaborative design methodologies in the construction of new configurations for teaching flat clothing modeling. Within the field of teaching fashion and ...clothing, but specifically in the disciplines of flat modeling, several problems can be identified regarding teaching-learning. Silva and França (2018) state that there is little perceived ability to understand the execution of the molds on the part of the students, which cause the discipline to be seen with a high degree of complexity, causing dissatisfaction, both on the part of the students and by part of the teachers who teach it. This article is based on data, four surveys carried out in fashion and clothing courses in Brazil regarding teaching-learning of the flat modeling technique and from the gaps identified in its results, we will substantiate the paths taken by this research.Based on the assumption that the understanding of the reasons and the difficulties present in the contexts of the researches carried out on teaching and learning of flat modeling in recent years, are not due to individual and solitary actions, but to collective constructions of all the authors involved. In this work, concepts of collaborative design methodologies are explored, as innovative and effective methods of this construction. Understanding that, through collaborative means, it is possible to contribute with activities and solutions from different fields, starting from a new perspective when conceiving formal concepts and solutions. Thus, the question that guides this study and which will be answered is: how can collaborative design methodologies contribute to the flat modeling of clothing? The article is structured in four topics, which aims to clarify points and difficulties raised in research that were carried out in recent years on teaching and learning of flat modeling through a systematic literature review that points out data on the state of the art of flat modeling and its relationship with collaborative methodologies.
This work proposes a debate on the concept of authorial fashion, a way of think-ing about the fashion product that is not based on trend forecasts, but adds subjective ref-erences and connects with ...local culture. To this end, we present the genesis of the notion of authorship in fashion, going back to the birth of Haute Couture and conjecturing about the internationalisation of fashion trends with the advent of prêt-à-porter and the consoli-dation of global fashion in the last decades of the 20th century. We also demonstrate that authorial fashion has its origins in the apparent paradox between globality and locality and reflect on its strategic, narrative and identity representation potential.
