This study aims to comprehend the suitability of both traditional and modern motivational theories and managerial methods in non-Western nation’s former colonies of the West like African countries. ...This study employed an exploratory research strategy to deepen our comprehension of the subject. This study only used third-party sources for its data. The application of motivational theories and managerial techniques may be limited by cultural contexts. Social norms have shaped the formation and maintenance of organizations within society that have a particular structure and way of functioning. Western motivational theories do not work in non-Western nations because indigenous people are rooted in their own culture and find it difficult to accept and let go of a foreign culture. This study contributes to the body of knowledge by analysing the applicability of motivational theories and managerial methods in non-Western countries. According to this study, local and international organizations specifically Western multinational organizations manage and motivate their workforce in non-Western nations by fusing management techniques with Western notions of motivation.
Motivational theories have been extensively studied in a wide range of fields, such as medical sciences, business, management, physiology, sociology, and particularly in the natural sciences. These ...theories are regarded as crucial in motivating online workers to engage in crowdsourcing. Nevertheless, there is a dearth of research on an overarching review of these theories. We performed a systematic literature review of peer-reviewed published studies focusing on motivational theories to identify popular theories and risks associated with nascent theories presented over the last decade in crowdsourcing. Based on a review of 91 papers from the domain of the natural sciences, we identified 35 motivational theories. The long tail theory helped us to identify the contribution of major influencing theories in a crowdsourcing environment. The results justify the long tail theory based on the Pareto principle of 80/20, which underlines the 20% of the popular motivation theories, namely self-determination, expectancy-value, game, gamification, behavior change, and incentive theory, as a cause of 80%. Similarly, we discussed the risks associated with 10 theories presented over the long tail, which have a frequency equal to 2. Understanding the significant impact, approximately 80%, of widely recognized motivational theories and their role in risk identification is crucial. This understanding can assist researchers in optimizing their results by effectively integrating these theories.
The COVID-19 outbreak changed dramatically and altered the attitudes, intentions and purchasing patterns of consumers. This global crisis was particularly notable because of globalization - the ...interconnection of markets and countries-and its unprecedented coverage by traditional and digital media. This research queried the impact of the COVID-19 crisis on consumers' motivation and behavior. The present paper was based on the results of mixed methods - qualitative and quantitative analyses - conducted in more than 55 countries and collectively engaging 1,015 participants. The studies were performed by the end of March 2020, at which time the pandemic was at its first peak, allowing data to be collected in real time, recording the actual behaviors of consumers and not simply what they could recall after the fact. As a result of the COVID-19 crisis, many changes took place in consumer behavior related to products, channels, and motivations. These changes proved to be more related to consumers' perceptions of the crisis than to its practical effects. Several managerial and theoretical implications are provided, as well as compelling future research avenues.
Abstract
Background
Endometriosis is a chronic disease characterized by growth of endometrial tissue outside the uterine cavity which could affect 200 million women (The term “woman” is used for ...convenience. Individuals gendered as man or as nonbinary can also suffer from this disease) worldwide. One of the most common symptoms of endometriosis is pelvic chronic pain associated with fatigue. This pain can cause psychological distress and interpersonal difficulties. As for several chronic diseases, adapted physical activity could help to manage the physical and psychological symptoms. The present study will investigate the effects of a videoconference-based adapted physical activity combined with endometriosis-based education program on quality of life, pain, fatigue, and other psychological symptoms and on physical activity.
Methods
This multicentric randomized-controlled trial will propose to 200 patients with endometriosis to be part of a trial which includes a 6-month program with 45 min to more than 120 min a week of adapted physical activity and/or 12 sessions of endometriosis-based education program. Effects of the program will be compared to a control group in which patients will be placed on a waiting list. All participants will be followed up 3 and 6 months after the intervention. None of the participants will be blind to the allocated trial arm. The primary outcome measure will be quality of life. Secondary outcomes will include endometriosis-related perceived pain, fatigue, physical activity, and also self-image, stereotypes, motivational variables, perceived support, kinesiophobia, basic psychological need related to physical activity, and physical activity barriers. General linear models and multilevel models will be performed. Predictor, moderator, and mediator variables will be investigated.
Discussion
This study is one of the first trials to test the effects of a combined adapted physical activity and education program for improving endometriosis symptoms and physical activity. The results will help to improve care for patients with endometriosis.

Leadership is not just about leaders, it is a unitary one, based on balance and which is often the success formula. It is well known that people is the most important resource of an organization. ...They represent a decisive factor in organizational success or failure. Although employers are aware of this, they do not always invest or make changes, ending up with a deadlock and facing serious problems. Motivation constitutes not only an important tool in the process of selfregulation, but also a driving force of psychological and human development. The purpose of the paper is to illustrate the importance of leadership in motivating employees. In order to reach this aim the authors conducted an exploratory research in the milling and bakery industry by using the questionnaire as a tool. The results show that motivation represents a factor of influence at the workplace and leaders should identify and meet employees’ needs.
This study explored the importance of two major theories of Job satisfaction (content and process theories) and their sub domains and how LIS professionals could use these theories in the field of ...librarianship. The study was carried out by a review of the literature to identify the significant contribution of these two related theories in human resource management. Due to its multi-disciplinary nature, the literature on these two theories was wide among scholarly sources such as web-based sources, including Google Scholar, ResearchGate, and subject-specific e-databases namely JSTOR, Emerald, Sage Journals, Taylor &Francis, and ERIC. This study explores several aspects of job satisfaction, job happiness, job ethics, and job conduct in detail. The study elaborates that work productivity, employee engagement, absenteeism, safety and security, stress management, unionization, and all other factors have an impact on employees' job performances. This study also explained several theories of job satisfaction in the context of librarianship, such as Abraham Maslow's hierarchy of needs, Clayton Alderfers' ERG theory, Frederick Herzberg's two-wire theory, Douglas McGregor's theory of X and Y, David's theory of needs McKeland, Porter and Loller's theory of similarity, and goal setting theories with models. The study also guides how to implement the theoretical ideas of job satisfaction in the field of Librarianship.
Being characterized by high numbers of physical and mental health issues, the veterinary sector faces some negative peculiarities compared to other professions. To evaluate and possibly improve ...employees’ well-being and to reward according to individual motivation, managing staff and the profession in general must understand every individual’s motivation. Defining the motivation of veterinary professionals in a multidisciplinary way can be the first step in increasing the well-being of employees. To assemble current theories of work motivation and adapt and extend them to serve the veterinary profession, basic knowledge of the classical general psychological motivational theories and work motivational theories is inevitable. The authors aimed to illustrate the different motivational theories’ key aspects and historical evolution to provide veterinary personnel with broad knowledge. In addition, the availability of already existing literature should be evaluated. A scoping review was performed. Methodological, empirical, review, and theoretical articles were evaluated. Only a minority of the studies (1.3%) evaluated motivational theories in veterinary health care. This reflects that there is a need for research in this field. Still, it is illustrated that the veterinarian profession would benefit from the implementation of general psychological as well as motivational work theories.
Purpose
To understand the unique context forming organizational learning, the current study aims to investigate the antecedents of training and development (TD) practices as an indicator of effective ...organizational learning from the Vietnam hospitality sector, which has not been studied rigorously.
Design/methodology/approach
This study adopts a mixed method of quantitative and qualitative data analysis, including a path analysis partial least squares structural equation modeling (PLS-SEM) based on a sample size of 354 responses and a semi-structured interview of 32 participants to test various paths predicting training effectiveness while exploring contextual differences in the Vietnam hospitality sector.
Findings
The results show that among the variables investigated, extrinsic motivation, team support and job quality were found to be significant to TD, while intrinsic motivation was found to have no significant predictive power. To explore the reasons behind these findings, the interviews indicate that the motivations of employees in the hospitality sector, most of whom are young and have a limited length of service, are highly rooted in the organization’s cultural context.
Originality/value
This study contributes to understanding the complex context of organizational learning through an investigation of an emerging economy from Southeast Asia by adding new insights into the training and motivational theories. It has practical implications for practitioners in the hospitality sector to develop more effective learning organizations during the uncertain period of this unprecedented pandemic.

Economic globalization and the resulting internationalization in higher education have resulted in a proliferation of English-medium programs. The investigation reported here examined the relationship between various measures of motivational orientation toward English language learning and students’ preference for English-medium graduate programs. Data were collected from undergraduate students enrolled in nine different academic programs in Thailand (N=2252, males=31.2% and females=68.8%). The results of mean values in the motivational scales show that instrumental goals occupy the first rank across academic programs but integrative goals were also positive and more significant in association with the idea of undertaking English-medium graduate program, especially for females. Levels of English language classroom anxiety and perceived social support from parents, peers, and teachers were significant to the discrimination between student groups who would prefer to study in English or in Thai. Our findings validate the importance of integrative goals, classroom learning situation and the affective dimensions of motivation in student preference for English-medium instruction.
