Manj odklonilen odnos imajo le do zelenjave. Osnovnošolci v zahodni Sloveniji imajo manjši odpor do tovrstne hrane.

Confrontations between the powerless and powerful are laden with deception-the powerless feign deference and the powerful subtly assert their ...mastery. Peasants, serfs, untouchables, slaves, laborers, and prisoners are not free to speak their minds in the presence of power. These subordinate groups instead create a secret discourse that represents a critique of power spoken behind the backs of the dominant. At the same time, the powerful also develop a private dialogue about practices and goals of their rule that cannot be openly avowed. In this book, renowned social scientist James C. Scott offers a penetrating discussion both of the public roles played by the powerful and powerless and the mocking, vengeful tone they display off stage-what he terms their public and hidden transcripts. Using examples from the literature, history, and politics of cultures around the world, Scott examines the many guises this interaction has taken throughout history and the tensions and contradictions it reflects.
Scott describes the ideological resistance of subordinate groups-their gossip, folktales, songs, jokes, and theater-their use of anonymity and ambiguity. He also analyzes how ruling elites attempt to convey an impression of hegemony through such devices as parades, state ceremony, and rituals of subordination and apology. Finally, he identifies-with quotations that range from the recollections of American slaves to those of Russian citizens during the beginnings of Gorbachev'sglasnostcampaign-the political electricity generated among oppressed groups when, for the first time, the hidden transcript is spoken directly and publicly in the face of power. His landmark work will revise our understanding of subordination, resistance, hegemony, folk culture, and the ideas behind revolt.
This sensitive picture of the constant and circumspect struggle waged by peasants materially and ideologically against their oppressors shows that techniques of evasion and resistance may represent ...the most significant and effective means of class struggle in the long run.
"A major contribution to peasant studies, Malaysian studies, and the literature on revolutions and class consciousness."--Benedict R. Anderson, Cornell University"The book is a splendid achievement. Because Scott listens closely to the villagers of Malaysia, he enormously expands our understanding of popular ideology and therefore of popular politics. And because he is also a brilliant analyst, he draws upon this concrete experience to develop a new critique of classical theories of ideology."-Frances Fox Piven, Graduate Center of the City University of New York"An impressive work which may well become a classic."-Terence J. Byres,Times Literary Supplement"A highly readable, contextually sensitive, theoretically astute ethnography of a moral system in change….Weapons of the Weakis a brilliant book, combining a sure feel for the subjective side of struggle with a deft handling of economic and political trends."-John R. Bown,Journal of Peasant Studies"A splendid book, a worthy addition to the classic studies of Malay society and of the peasantry at large…. Combines the readability ofAkenfieldorPig Earthwith an accessible and illuminating theoretical commentary."-A.F. Robertson,Times Higher Education Supplement"No one who wants to understand peasant society, in or out of Southeast Asia, or theories of change, should fail to read this book."-Daniel S. Lev,Journal of Asian Studies"A moving account of the poor's refusal to accept the terms of their subordination…. Disposes of the belief that theoretical sophistication and intelligible prose are somehow at odds."-Ramachandra Guha,Economic and Political Weekly"A seminally important commentary on the state of peasant studies and the global literature…. This enormously rich work in Asian and comparative studies is… an essential contribution to participatory development theory and practice."-Guy Gran,World DevelopmentJames C. A film celebrates the first anniversary of the end of the WWII. It shows documentary scenes of the WWII fights in Prague, while concentrating on the building of the Old Town Hall.
Animals represent prioritised stimuli for humans, they are given more attention than inanimate objects, and this attention is accompanied by not only positive emotions, but also negative ones, such as fear and disgust. Both of these emotions play an important adaptive role in potentially dangerous situations. Fear represents human reaction to the presence of a predator or another fear-inducing stimulus posing an immediate threat, while disgust has evolved as a protection against diseases and infections. These emotions were significant during human evolutionary history, but they continue to influence us to this day, despite humans coming into contact with animals in the wild with increasing rarity. Fear and disgust are also a substantial part of animal phobias. This work summarises our findings so far regarding negative emotions caused by animals. It deals with differences between the function of fear and disgust, their relation to each other, and their psychopathologies. Last but not least, it also discusses which specific features of animals influence their prioritized perception and experiencing of fear and disgust evoked by distinct animal groups.
Prvý z týchto ...významov slova „odpor“ spájame s Derridovým neografizmom „restance“, a tým vlastne navrhujeme preklad tohto neografizmu do slovenčiny (odporovanie). Toto odporovanie súvisí s odolávaním voči pojmovosti, voči transparentnému prenosu významu. V závere hovoríme o istej radikálnosti takto poňatého odporu, ktorým sa kniha O gramatológii vyznačuje.
This paper aims to highlight “ugliness”, of which the book Of Grammatology is certainly not devoid. This ugliness is identified here with a resistance to critique (in the Slovak language the words meaning “ugliness” and “resistance” share a common root – “odpor” and “odpornosť”). It is resistance referring to a “rester”, to something that rests in its place without being penetrated by conceptuality, a transparent transport of the meaning. We propose a translation of Derrida’s term “restance” to Slovak. Contrary to what is often believed, we claim that Of Gramatology is more radically resistant – more silent.
An analytical solution for the creeping flow of an inelastic fluid past a solid sphere has been obtained using an empirical 3-parameter fluid model. The governing equations of motion have been solved aproximately using a perturbation approach. Expressions have been obtained for the Stokes stream function and the drag experienced by the stationary sphere. It is shown that the drag for the non-Newtonian fluid is greater than the one predicted by the classical Stokes formula.

We investigated non-invasively cardiac contractility and autonomic nervous activity during presyncopal orthostatic stress ...induced in healthy humans. A graded orthostatic stress (GOS) paradigm, consisting of head-up tilt (HUT) combined with lower body negative pressure (LBNP) of increasing magnitude, was used to reach a presyncopal end-point in 15 healthy adults. Continuous beat-to-beat hemodynamic and autonomic parameters were recorded. From supine control (C1) to presyncope (PS), total peripheral resistance index (TPRI) decreased from 2300±500 to 1910±320 dyne*s*m²/cm^5 (p=0.004), index of contractility (IC) from 59±14 to 27±6 1000/s (p<0.0001), left ventricular working index (LVWI) from 5.2±1.3 vs. 3.6±0.6 mmHg*L/(min*m²) (p=0.0001) and acceleration index (ACI) from 65±18 vs. 54±15 100/s² (p=0.04). Low frequency variation of diastolic blood pressure (LFnudBP) increased from 51±14 to 67±11 % (p=0.0006) and of systolic blood pressure (LFnusBP) from 50±6 vs. 67±8 % (p<0.0001). High frequency variation of RR-interval (HFms²RRI) decreased from 385±320 to 38±43 ms² (p=0.001). From late GOS (G3) to PS, TPRI decreased from 2540±640 to 1910±320 dyne*s*m²/cm^5 (p=0.003), IC from 35±6 to 27±6 1000/s (p=0.003), LVWI from 4.6±0.9 to 3.6±0.6 mmHg*L/(min/m²) (p=0.003), LFnusBP from 71±8 to 67±8 % (p=0.03), LFmmHg²dBP from 6.6±4.0 to 4.8±2.9 mmHg² (p=0.0001), LFmmHg²sBP from 9.7±7.8 to 7.4±4.8 mmHg² (p=0.01). HFnuRRI increased from 19±8 to 28±13 % (p=0.008). Myocardial contractility indices and parameters of sympathetic activity were reduced in the presyncopal state, while parasympathic activity was increased. This suggests a decrease in cardiac contractility during orthostatically induced presyncope in healthy subjects.
