Ultrasound is an imaging modality that is highly operator dependent. This article reviews the challenges in learning how to perform obstetric sonography, as well as the processes necessary to acquire ...expert performance skills in sonography. Simulation-based education and learning, and the value of medical simulation are also discussed. Ultrasound simulators are an effective means of teaching obstetric sonography, because it provides training, deliberate practice, and performance evaluation/feedback which allows continuous and critical self-evaluation. We review evidence that simulation can improve performance in obstetric ultrasound examination, review current simulators, and discuss the current problems/gaps in ultrasound simulation. Optical positioning ultrasound simulation is a novel high-fidelity simulation learning system, which addresses many of these problems/gaps and is introduced for the first time here.
In the light of the most recent research into the unpublished writings of St. Josemaría Escrivá, hypotheses are presented regarding the chronology, working method and literary style of his Letters.
Kant's Transition Project and Late Philosophy is the first study to provide a close reading of the connection between texts written by Kant during 1796 and 1798. Connecting Kant's unfinished book ...project, the Opus postumum, with the Metaphysics of Morals, it identifies and clarifies issues at the forefront of Kant's focus towards the end of his life. Labelled by Kant as the "Transition Project", the Opus postumum generates debate among commentators as to why Kant describes the project as filling a "gap" within his system of critical philosophy. This study argues for a pervasive transition project that can be traced through Kant's entire critical philosophy and is the key to addressing current debates in the scholarship. By showing that there is not only a Transition Project in Kant's theoretical philosophy but also a Transition Project in his practical philosophy, it reveals why an accurate assessment of Kant's critical philosophy requires a new understanding of the Opus postumum and Kant's parallel late writings on practical philosophy. Rather than seeing Kant's late thoughts on a Transition as afterthoughts, they must be seen at the centre of his critical philosophy.

ENGLISH: This paper analyzes the lime mortar pavement with marble inlays that sole the north, south and west porticoed galleries of the peristyle from the Demetrio de los Ríos House at Italica. This pavement is of great interest because of its own configuration and the marble materials it contains, because of its rarity as it is included in the wide catalog of opera sectilia and traditional mosaics from the second century Italica, previously much more luxurious, and because of its own chronology, framed from the last third of the second century.
Chicago, Madison, Milwaukee y St. Louis.
Opus Dei
began its apostolic activities in the United States in 1949 but in November 1957
a new chapter in the history of Opus Dei in the United States commenced with
the establishment of two distinct circumscriptions: the Chicago region and the
Washington region. This article covers the early years of the Chicago region, from
the point of view of the male members of Opus Dei, from 1957 to 1961. The timeline, geography, demographics and some institutional dimensions are presented.
Special attention is given to the relationship with the American hierarchy. During
these four years, Opus Dei grew from approximately sixty-five members in 1957
to two hundred in 1961, in the Chicago region alone. The article also discusses the
establishment of two new centers, one in Gary, In. and the other, alongside the University of Notre Dame, which were added to those already existing in Chicago,
Madison, Milwaukee and St. Louis. And finally, the article outlines the first steps
that would lead to the launch of the Shellbourne Conference Center in 1962.
