The nature and dynamics of social menaces within the educational system have frustrated and held its development hostage. The fundamental issues underlying this trend are value erosion and moral ...decadence, which have paved way for the distortion of the behavioural and attitudinal dispositions of the operators of the system. The blatant exhibition of discrimination, injustice, prejudice, envy, jealousy and conflict incidents within the educational system not only calls for, but necessitates the domestication of peace education as a panacea to these social menaces and a way to enhance the productivity of the system. Therefore, this study addressed the questions of why, where, when, and how peace education should be domesticated in the educational system in Nigeria. Thus, these questions underscore the focus of discussion in order to promote understanding and learning of the subject.
Abstract
Practices of the leaders of religious institutes are fundamental in promoting peace education as their practices leave an immense impact not only on the perceptions and practices of teachers ...but also of the students regarding peace education. The beliefs, interests, inclinations, moral values, and competency of institutional leaders are reflected in policies they make and are presented in the practices of teachers. Owing to the importance of their practices aimed to promote peace education, there is a need to identify the extent of these practices as they are perceived by direct stakeholders, that is, teachers, which makes the aim of the current study. This research is a quantitative survey-based research. The population of this research includes the teachers of religious education institutes of Lahore. Cluster sampling method was used for the selection of sample. Data was collected from the teachers teaching to final year students and a total of 292 teachers participated in the study. A self-developed instrument was used to collect data. The instrument was based on the factors of peace education and practices used to promote them from the literature. The instrument was pilot tested and the validity and reliability of the instrument was established that was 0.87. The data was analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistics. The results indicated that teachers were satisfied with the practices of the leaders of religious institutes aimed to promote peace education. This study may help the academicians, practitioners, and policymakers to promote peace education in all schools of Pakistan.
The protracted conflict in Aceh has inflicted significant damage upon the region's social and educational infrastructure, engendering an urgent imperative for the integration of peace education ...within educational institutions. This article aims to discuss the urgency of peace education in Aceh's educational institutions. A qualitative research methodology, employing a literature study approach, was adopted, gathering and analyzing data from various relevant sources to gain a comprehensive understanding. This study showed that peace education is not only critical for post-conflict recovery but also essential in shaping the attitudes of tolerance and conflict understanding among the youth. This need is underscored by Aceh's conflict history and its enduring impact on society. The article concludes that peace education is an urgent requirement in Aceh's schools, with the potential to equip students with knowledge and attitudes supportive of sustained peace and future violence prevention. Investment in peace education in Aceh is vital for regional stability and serves as a potential global model for post-conflict peacebuilding.
The world has many problems, economic interests, chaos, and wars. Man needs a binder to prevent man (countries) from being able to do something that only benefits himself and harms others. Thus, ...global ethics as a minimalist ethic is needed in this world. The goal is that there be peace and order. This article aims to construct an idea of creating peaceful education through Islamic Religious Education with a global ethical perspective. This research confirms that the main points of global ethics are relevant to Islamic religious education in Indonesia regarding Islamic teachings and Government Regulations. The integration of global ethics in Islamic Religious Education can be implemented in Indonesia. On the other hand, there are challenges to integrating global ethics in learning; how can teachers provide students with an understanding of the universal values of global ethics in Indonesia context of a plural society? The leading global ethics precepts must be included in the Islamic religious education curriculum at the basic, secondary, and higher levels. This study is devoted to developing a rudimentary idea of Islamic religious education from a global ethical standpoint. As a result, additional research on Islamic religious education from a global ethical viewpoint is required.
Since its establishment, Al Qodiri Islamic Boarding School has set itself as a peace boarding school with moderate character. When radicalism, extremism, and terrorism threaten world peace, the ...schools consistently campaign for peaceful movement. Therefore, this study focuses on peace education in planning, implementing, and its implication on students’ behavior and attitude in Al Qodiri Islamic Boarding School Jember to find a learning model of planning, implementing, and implication of peace education. This study used a qualitative research design using a multiple case study approach. The informants were chosen using a purposive sampling technique. The findings of the research are: first, peace education planning in al Qodiri Islamic Boarding School Jember refers to vision, mission, institutional philosophy, Islam washatiyah, started with the need analysis of an era, society, and students and by considering the suggestion of education users formulated by an educational institution. Second, peace education implementation employs an adaptation of religious text material using a moderation approach, Islamic method, and universal method, a website supporting media containing digital washatiyah literacy and digital sufism literacy implemented in formal institution integrated with ahlussunnah waljama’ah teaching through class-based-extracurricular activities and intensive and doctrinal extracurricular activities. Third, the peace education implication in Islamic boarding schools builds students’ polite and tolerant behavior, moderate and contextual perspective, sufistic behavior, and positive image for the local, national, and regional society and supports Islamic boarding schools' continuous transformation.
The present paper examines the affective practices of teachers engaged in peace education in a conflict-affected society, focusing on teachers’ affective dilemmas while confronting difficult ...histories. This exploration is conducted through a qualitative study of Greek-Cypriot primary and secondary school teachers who participated in a peace education program. The findings highlight how affective complexities, dilemmas and tensions are productive of subjectivities and relations that could either reinforce or disrupt power relations inherent in demands from teachers. The study suggests it is important that the role and impact of teachers’ affective practices on peace education initiatives are ever more recognized.

African countries experience a lot of recurring conflicts because the underlying causes of most conflicts on the continent have either been unresolved or tackled at the surface level. This situation ...leads to the loss of lives and property. Ghana's National Peace Council (NPC) is one of the existing peace infrastructures whose mandate is to educate the public on peace and conflict management. However, there is a paucity of literature on how this peace council educates the Ghanaian population on peacebuilding. The study, therefore, sought to uncover strategies employed by Ghana's NPC in educating the public on peacebuilding. Data was gathered through interviews and focused group discussions with participants who work with the NPC. The study also relied on secondary data, which consisted of recordings of peace education programmes through mass media such as TV and radio. The findings revealed that two main strategies are employed by the NPC of Ghana, namely, the use of media platforms (TV and radio) and socio-entertaining strategies. In addition to traditional media, this study argues that the NPC should utilise modern media, such as social media and the Internet, for peace education. If utilised, these two media forms would reach a much larger audience and could be used to prevent conflict in Ghana.
This research aimed to determine the implementation of peace education through history subjects and the development of historical materials for the development of national unity and peace. The ...research used the descriptive qualitative research method. The research subjects were teachers of history and students of class XII IPA 2 MAN 1 Banda Aceh. The research informants were teachers of non-history subjects and the principal of MAN 1 Banda Aceh. The validity of this research data used triangulation. The data analysis used the Miles and Huberman model: data reduction, data display, and conclusion verification data. The results showed that peace education through history learning was not carried out in classrooms but made use of the Aceh Peace Memorial Room. This room made it easier for students to directly access the events of the Aceh conflict and the peace process. This condition made it easier for students to directly understand the material on Overcoming the Threat of National Disintegration and its relation to peace in Aceh. In the early stages, the students toured the Aceh peace memorial room. They saw photos of Aceh's conflict and peace journey. After the tour, they continued to see two movies about ‘Weaving Peace in Aceh’ and ‘Sustainability and Example of Aceh Peace’. Students reflected on these three activities by writing articles themed Aceh Peace Strengthens National Integration. The results of this paper were recorded as student work entitled ‘Aceh Peace Strengthens National Integration’ in which there were subtitles from student groups.

It provides a brief history of the concept of the culture of peace, discusses the basic aspects of the concept, and reflects on its relationship with everyday life. It then outlines the various actions undertaken by UNESCO during 1992–8 to promote a culture of peace, and lists declarations for a culture of peace and non-violence.
Background: Self-efficacy and resilience are among the most important concepts related to psychological capital that consists of various dimensions and considering the multidimensional nature of ...peace education, examining its impact on increasing self-efficacy and resilience is the main issue of the present study. Aims: The aim of this study was to determine the efficacy of peace education on self-efficacy and resilience of junior high school students. Methods: The present study was conducted as a quasi-experimental method with a pretest-posttest design and considering three experimental and control groups with a two-month follow-up. The statistical population of the study consists of first grade high school students in District 3 of Tehran. 60 samples were selected by multi-stage cluster sampling method. The data collection tool was a psychological capital questionnaire that was used to test the two items of self-efficacy and resilience. After performing the pre-test, the experimental group received peace training in 8 sessions of 120 minutes in 8 consecutive weeks and the control group did not receive any training in this field. At the end of the experimental group, post-test and after two months, follow-up test was performed. Mixed analysis of variance in SPSS-22 software was used to analyze the data. Results: The results showed that the effect of peace education on the components of self-efficacy and resiliency, is significant at the level of 0.01. Also, peace education compared to the control group has led to an increase in the mean scores of the components of self-efficacy and resiliency in the post-test and follow-up stages. Conclusion: Due to the significant effect of peace education on students' self-efficacy and resiliency, this method can be used in their academic success.
