Population aging is a trend of the 21st century. Correctly administered, physical exercise is believed to significantly influence and modify the aging process, and remarkably decrease deterioration ...of the psycho-physical condition. The aim of this study was to verify if (and how) competitive sports practiced by women in their youth have influence on their physical fitness and life-quality in adulthood and old age. The study included 94 women who declared leading or having lead a physically active lifestyle (49 women did sports in the past, while 45 of them were physically non-active in their youth). Physical fitness resulting from former sport activity was analyzed with the Rikli&Jones test. Significantly better results were obtained by the group of former competitors in the bending forward and walking test. There is a close correspondence between doing sport in the past and mineral bone density, good subjective health evaluation and motor organ diseases. The approach to subjective health evaluation was much better in women who did sport in the past despite their significantly higher prevalence to motor organ diseases. Osteoarticular and muscle disorders may be the negative results of sport performance in the past.
Using the 1992-1996's irrigation results, 15 different physical, economic and institutional efficiency indicators were applied to the Bursa groundwater irrigation project to evaluate the performance ...of the system. A water supply ratio of 0.6-1.09, an irrigation ratio of 57-81%, a realized crop pattern ratio of 71-96.6%, a benefit-cost ratio of 2.5-10.0, a planned water supply ratio of 61-115.3%, a water-use per unit area of 5917.3-8701.3 m3 ha-1, a water fee collection ratio of 71-100%, a sustainable irrigated area ratio of 1.71, an output per unit command of 2628.7 ha-1 and output per cropped area of 4198.5 ha-1 were found. For efficient irrigation management, irrigation plannin must be appropriate for the farmers, market and water resource conditions.
Within the modern economy, the role of labour acquires primary coordinates, so that the most general and synthetical marker which characterizes the company's efficiency should be measured by labour ...productivity. The most important role among the multitude of productivity expressions is hold by labour productivity, due to the priority role of labour resource within the range of production factors. The reflection of labour efficiency within rates of return characterizes clearly describes the expression of usage and combination of production factors and of modalities to obtain maximum efficiency.
Physical efficiency identification and quantization of power transmission and transformation is the importance to economic evaluation and post-evaluation for projects of benefit analysis. According ...to kinds of project features and its position and action in the network, this paper has identified correlative physics efficiency separately. According to the main physical efficiency index of different projects, this paper has supplied the corresponding quantization calculation method based on the network features of power transmission and transformation projects, using the power system balance analysis method and looking the projects which in the power network as the study object. This method has been better applied into the economic benefit analysis of San-Xia project post-evaluation and others projects.
The paper aims to analyse the interaction between economic system and environmental system through multi-sectoral models of production and price distribution and to examine in this theoretical ...context the effects of environmental regulations. Two devices are introduced in the matrix in order to examine the interaction between economic system and environmental system: new technology in the production process to abate pollution and pollution generated by productive processes. The analysis emphasises the importance to examine the physical efficiency not only in relation to different technologies but also to the deterioration of the environment. Accordingly, the evaluation of profitability requires a re-formulation of price system through the introduction of the estimation of the environmental damage.
The paper aims to examine the interaction between economic system and environmental system in an input-output model in order to define the regulation to limit the impact of productive processes on ...environment and to assure a sustainable development. The analysis points out that both direct and indirect regulations lead to the adoption of efficient technology. Yet, only the indirect regulations can determine a price system which reflects the total cost of pollution, while direct regulations have to be supplemented by indirect regulations to determine an efficient price system. In particular, direct regulations concerning the adoption of processes to abate pollution should be completed by taxes which impose the burden of the damage that can not be eliminable to the polluters and direct regulations on productive processes with low impact on environment should be completed by taxes which imposes the burden of unforeseeable damage to the polluters.
