Considered are Eocene sea urchins from Pla~e near Ajdov{~ina. Nine specimens were found and eight distinct genera determined: Conoclypus, Echinolampas, Rhyncholampas, Ditremaster, Schizaster, ...Linthia, Cyclaster and Macropneustes. The species of listed generaindicate Middle Eocene – Lutetian age of beds. The sea urchin assemblage is of mixed character, recorded were forms typical for shallow environments, and others typical for deeper marine environments. The entire assemblage from Pla~e is comparable with Eocene assemblages of sea urchins of the Tethys sedimentation region.
In this paper we analyze the determinants of real wages in Macedonia's manufacturing sector. We emphasize the macroeconomic aspects involved, and use econometric panel data techniques to model the ...behaviour of real wages for the period 2005-2010, using monthly data. We find non-negligible persistence of real wages. We further find a role for overall unemployment, real exchange rate and the tariff index in determining real wages.

For twenty years, social scientists have used place concepts to understand energy infrastructure siting. Much of this research stemmed from attempts to provide theoretical explanations that avoid ...pejorative NIMBY (Not in My Back Yard) assumptions about community objections. Despite a burgeoning literature, a comprehensive review of place-related energy infrastructure research is lacking. This paper addresses this gap for the first time by collating and systematically reviewing a corpus of 190 articles published between January 1999 and March 2022, using search terms combining ‘energy’ and five place concepts (place attachment, sense of place, place identity, identity of a place, place-technology fit). Content analysis revealed the application of place concepts most frequently to wind energy, as well as nuclear power, fossil-fuel extraction and energy distribution; a high number of journal outlets (n = 76); a prevalence of single case study and survey methods; geographical concentration in developed countries, and a high prevalence of female authors. Bibliometric analysis of key words indicated a hub and spoke structure centered on the term place attachment, with low levels of coherence. 8 research clusters were identified comprising disparate technologies, geographical contexts, concepts and methods. Two of the search terms (identity of a place, place-technology fit) had low prevalence. Analysis revealed the application of place concepts to be highly varied, with 15 place concepts identified that are often not the primary focus of research, and sometimes used superficially. To improve coherence, cumulative learning and rigour in future studies, a lexicon of place definitions and specific recommendations are provided.
•A corpus of 190 articles draws on place concepts to research energy infrastructure.•This literature spans diverse technology sectors, countries and numerous journals.•Studies on renewable energy, in particular wind energy, are most prevalent.•Eight clusters with weak coherence are identified, indicating a fragmented literature.•Recommendations to improve coherence, cumulative learning and rigour are provided.
Ecotourism's destination management has been focused on the place identity built by public authorities and centered on place promotion, marketing, and branding without a match between place identity ...and place image perceived by the place visitors and tourists and impact on their place satisfaction. This study uses the Melgaço council in the Portuguese Peneda-Gerês National Park to measure these relationships. We used two questionnaires for tourist operators and City Hall and external stakeholders (tourists and visitors). Results show that it is possible to measure place identity and place image with the same adapted items. Place quality and place branding have a positive impact on place satisfaction. Still, the effect of place promotion and marketing is negative, revealing that the gap between place identity and place image is negatively associated with perceived place satisfaction, moderated by psychological attraction, travelling experience, and visiting experience. There are presented several practical and theoretical implications.

The concept of "funds of knowledge" is based on a simple premise: people are competent and have knowledge, and their life experiences have given them that knowledge. The claim in this book is that ...first-hand research experiences with families allow one to document this competence and knowledge, and that such engagement provides many possibilities for positive pedagogical actions. Drawing from both Vygotskian and neo-sociocultural perspectives in designing a methodology that views the everyday practices of language and action as constructing knowledge, the funds of knowledge approach facilitates a systematic and powerful way to represent communities in terms of the resources they possess and how to harness them for classroom teaching. This book accomplishes three objectives: It gives readers the basic methodology and techniques followed in the contributors' funds of knowledge research; it extends the boundaries of what these researchers have done; and it explores the applications to classroom practice that can result from teachers knowing the communities in which they work. In a time when national educational discourses focus on system reform and wholesale replicability across school sites, this book offers a counter-perspective stating that instruction must be linked to students' lives, and that details of effective pedagogy should be linked to local histories and community contexts. This approach should not be confused with parent participation programs, although that is often a fortuitous consequence of the work described. It is also not an attempt to teach parents "how to do school" although that could certainly be an outcome if the parents so desired. Instead, the funds of knowledge approach attempts to accomplish something that may be even more challenging: to alter the perceptions of working-class or poor communities by viewing their households primarily in terms of their strengths and resources, their defining pedagogical characteristi
The literature and practice of place promotion, place marketing and place branding lack a common understanding of what these three concepts mean and through what kind of policies they can be ...implemented. Although scholars have provided several theoretical frameworks and definitions, both scholars and practitioners (advisors, civil servants, public and private stakeholders, and politicians) often use them synonymously. This paper argues that recent developments in both theory and practice – with respect to place promotion, place marketing and place branding – provide an opportunity to address this conceptual confusion. In the academic debate, a common understanding is slowly emerging and in practice, a more integral approach is gaining ground. To contribute to these advances, we present the outline of a framework to help distinguish between place promotion, place marketing and place branding, along with a discussion on why we believe these differences (should) matter to practitioners.
•A classification of place promotion, place marketing, and place branding respectively as instruments for urban policy;•A conceptual reframing, highlighting and incorporating the differences between these three instruments;•Insights into how the current conceptual confusion causes asymmetries in both theory and practice.
