The rise of ecological awareness in recent decades corresponds to the emergence of the increasingly reputable and significant field of ecocritical studies, which has resulted in the publication of ...many valuable literary discussions devoted to the study of the relationship between humanity and the environment. In this context, a visible shift has been made towards the study of earlier periods in literature, so scholars prone to an ecocritical approach in recent years have been discovering great potential in the corpus of older literary texts. Renaissance literature, both European and Croatian, the latter following the literary trends of the time, combined with certain national characteristics conditioned by the socio-political situation of the time, proves to be very fruitful for this type of analysis. This article therefore addresses the Croatian Renaissance text of Petar Zoranić’s
to analyze: 1. problems of source and originality, 2. the historical and allegorical potentials of the text, 3. nature as a place of consolation as well as a source of cognition, and for the acquisition of various types of knowledge that were sought after by the people of the Renaissance, 4. the relationships between different types and levels of authority (mythological, folk, ancient, religious, contemporary, esoteric). Also, the author's position is examined, since it changed significantly at that time, especially regarding the writer's anxiety in relation to the authorities, the task and position of literature itself, and the right/yearning for knowledge. All this makes
an interesting early modern discourse, very amenable to an ecocritical analytical approach.
The Moračke Planine Mountains, situated in the central part of Montenegro, were the center of intensive Pleistocene glaciation. Specific type of moraines - hummocky ones, which have not been recorded ...in the southeastern Dinarides up to now, were recently identified and investigated in western part of the Moračke Planine Mts. Moraine material accumulated on limestone basement, where several tens of irregularly distributed hummocks and similar number of bowl-shaped dolines have been carved already. The hummocky moraines formed in the glaciokarst landscape where the well-developed karst morphology has been shaped before glaciation. Pre-glacial karst morphology determined the direction of glacier movement as well as its main morphological characteristics (thickness and width). During the most intensive glaciation phase (МIS 12) the Lukavičko-lukovski Glacier, spread out from the central part of mountain towards west, reaching a length of 16.5 km. Due to uneven glacier thickness, the deglaciation process led to its breaking and separation of the lower and shorter part from the rest of the icy mass. Stagnant state of the icy mass led to specific accumulation of moraine material in a form of numerous hummocks, whose melting produced a bowl-shaped dolinas in-between. The paleogeographic significance of hummocky moraines lies in the possibilities of more detailed studies of the Pleistocene glaciers specifics that arise from their evolution in glacio-karst conditions.
Cilj je ovog istraživanja predstaviti komparativnu analizu etničke strukture stanovništva u planinama Apuseni (u Rumunjskoj) tijekom triju popisa stanovništva: 1880., 1930. i 2011. godine. U njemu se ...ističu etnički kontinuiteti i diskontinuiteti, kao i povijesni trenutci koji su utjecali na te promjene. Obrada statističkih podataka rezultirala je izradom tablica s prikazom etničke strukture Apusena koje uključuju apsolutne i relativne (postotne) vrijednosti za svaku etničku skupinu. Podaci su obrađeni i s pomoću alata ArcGIS 10.3 te su izrađene karte teritorijalne raspodjele etničkih skupina za svaku administrativno-teritorijalnu jedinicu. Rezultati pokazuju da su Rumunji održali kontinuitet u planinskom području, dok su se druge etničke skupine znatno promijenile u pogledu broja i postotka ukupnog stanovništva. Židovska je zajednica podvrgnuta progonu tijekom Drugog svjetskog rata, a na popisu stanovništva 2011. našla se na rubu nestanka. Na zajednice Nijemaca negativno su utjecale socijalističke politike deportacije u Sovjetski Savez i druge države. Pod znatnim utjecajem industrijskog restrukturiranja Slovaci su se počeli iseljavati nakon pada komunizma 1989. Najdinamičnija su etnička skupina Romi čiji je broj i postotak neprestano rastao u popisima stanovništva.
The species belonging to the trechine genus Adriaphaenops Noesske, 1928 are studied. As a result, seven currently known and five newly described species are recognized. Morphological characters of ...the habitus (especially the shape of head and pronotum) as well as male genitalia are widely used to delimit the species. The following new species are described: A. albanicus sp. nov. (Albania, Shkodër, Boga, Thatë Mts.), A. jasminkoi sp. nov. (Bosnia & Hercegovina, Nevesinje, Novakova pećina cave), A. mlejneki sp. nov. (Montenegro, Gornje Stravče, Kučke planine Mts.), A. njegosiensis sp. nov. (Montenegro, Cetinje, Cetinjska pećina cave) and A.rumijaensis sp. nov. (Montenegro, Virpazar, Rumija Mts.). Lectotype for A. stirni (Pretner, 1959) is designated. Data on the distribution and ecology of new taxa, complemented with descriptions of the type localities are provided. Key to the identification of all twelve Adriaphaenops species, as well as a key of all hitherto known aphaenopsoid Trechini genera from Dinarides are also given.
Applying the standard Central-European method we phytosociologically studied the sites of Pulsatilla vernalis, a rare and protected species of Slovenian flora, in the frost hollows on mountain ...pastures Ovčarija and Za Grivo in the Fužina pasturelands (the Triglav mountains, the Julian Alps). We established that it grows in a unique community of swards and heaths which usually extends over small surfaces (4-10 m2) and is dominated by herbaceous perennial species (hemicryptophytes) and dwarf shrubs (chamaephytes) with mostly arcticalpine and south-European montane distribution. This community is explicitly (floristically and ecologically) different from the communities of swards and heaths described in the Julian Alps so far, so we classified it into a new association Pulsatillo vernalis-Dryadetum octopetalae ass. nova (order Rhododendro hirsuti-Ericetalia carneae) and subdivided it into two, floristically and ecologically clearly distinguished subassociations -ericetosum carneae subass. nova and -vaccinietosum subass. nova.
Po standardni srednjeevropski metodi smo v mraziščnih kotanjah na pl. Ovčarija in Za Grivo v Fužinskih planinah (Triglavsko pogorje, Julijske Alpe) fitocenološko preučili rastišča redke in zavarovane vrste slovenske flore, Pulsatilla vernalis. Ugotovili smo, da raste v svojevrstni, navadno na majhnih površinah (4-10 m2) razširjeni združbi rušnatih trav in resav, v kateri prevladujejo zelnate trajnice (hemikriptofiti) ter polgrmi in nizki grmiči (hamefiti) predvsem z arktično-alpinsko in južnoevropsko gorsko razširjenostjo. Ker se ta združba floristično in ekološko očitno razlikuje od doslej v Julijskih Alpah opisanih združb rušnatih trav in resav, jo uvrščamo v novo asociacijo Pulsatillo vernalis-Dryadetum octopetalae ass. nova (red Rhododendro hirsuti-Ericetalia carneae) in jo členimo na dve floristično in ekološko dobro prepoznavni subasociaciji -ericetosum carneae subass. nova in -vaccinietosum subass. nova.

Posljednjih godina u suvremenom svjetskom kontekstu primjetna je ponovna aktualizacija planinskog ratovanja kroz ustrojavanje specijaliziranih planinskih postrojbi i pokretanje inicijative NATO ...saveza (osnivanje centra izvrsnosti planinskog ratovanja) te Europske unije (EU Mountain Training Initiative). Aktualizacija je potaknuta iskustvima mirovnih misija u Narodnoj Republici Afganistanu. Međutim, definicija planinskog ratovanja i pripadajuće terminologije još nije jasno utvrđena, pogotovo u kontekstu vojne doktrine. U radu je izvedena definicija planinskog ratovanja i najvažnijih pojmova vezanih uz planinsko ratovanje kako bi ono bilo razjašnjeno te kao svojevrsno upoznavanje i temelj za ostale radove o ovoj temi. Potom je dan kratki pregled povijesti planinskog ratovanja u svjetskom kontekstu, ali i u kontekstu Republike Hrvatske, uz četiri studije slučaja koje trebaju poslužiti kao uvod u specifičnosti rata i operacija u planinskim područjima, a koje nude bitne lekcije za budućnost.
Hrvatska književna historiografija (Matić, Kombol, Georgijević, Bogišić i dr.) Vida Došena uglavnom opisuje kao vjerskog pisca, koji se kritikom narodnog života i običaja u osamnaestostoljetnoj ...Slavoniji (u Jeci planine i u Aždaji sedmoglavoj) pridružuje prosvjetiteljskim nastojanjima, čiji je slavonski predvodnik tada bio Matija Antun Relković. Došenov prosvjetiteljski rad, na tragu prvog izdanja Relkovićeva Satira iliti divjeg čovika (1762.), ostaje međutim nedovoljno precizno pojašnjen. U radu sam stoga nastojala Došenova djela sagledati i s aspekta katoličke obnove kao procesa dugog trajanja, ali i s aspekta katoličkog prosvjetiteljstva, čije se naznake mogu uočiti u oba Došenova djela, što je ponajprije vidljivo u isticanju važnosti korisnog djelovanja koje pridonosi javnom dobru, tj. koristi općini. Te posljednje, katoličkoprosvjetiteljske elemente smatram vrlo važnima jer se upravo na temelju njih može nešto preciznije objasniti i definirati značenje Došenova prosvjetiteljskog rada kojemu su, kao svjetovnom svećeniku, jozefinske reformne ideje mogle biti bliske i prihvatljive.
The present paper is dedicated to 16th-century Croatian author Petar Zoranić’s (Zadar / Zara, 1508 – 1569?) direct and mediated echoing of Dante’s oeuvre. Zoranić’s pastoral novel Planine (Mountains) ...belongs to the consistent tradition of reuse, quotation and translation that the Italian poet’s legacy has enjoyed in Croatia from the 14th century to the present day. Building on the work of the humanist writer Marko Marulić (Marcus Marulus Spalatensis, Split / Spalato, 1450-1524), who aspired to do for the Croatian vernacular what Dante did for the Italian volgare, Zoranić adapted Dante’s example to his own purposes not only in the promotion of the Croatian language and literature, but also in the celebration of the beauty, history and cultural heritage of his homeland. A true connoisseur of Dante’s original, the author from Zadar was also competent in the art of appropriation and creative reemployment of the Commedia’s various aspects, an exercise inaugurated by Boccaccio, and practiced by 15th and 16th-century men and women of letters. My contribution will focus on the modalities through which the text of Planine transforms the materials derived from Dante by mixing them with elements from other prestigious literary sources, in their turn heirs or precursors of Dante, such as works by Virgil, Ovid, the Church doctors, the Roman de la rose, Petrarch’s Trionfi, the Decameron and the early narrative production by Boccaccio, Arcadia by Sannazaro and, according to my hypothesis, the Hypnerotomachia Poliphili (Polifilo’s Dream) by Francesco Colonna.
