Abstract
Firms screen graduates using grade thresholds, which can turn into students’ targeted learning outcomes or reference points in the model of study effort choice. Variability in the usage of ...grade thresholds implies students’ uncertainty about the value of grades. Work experience from internships can reduce this uncertainty and, in turn, affect the choice of study effort. We theoretically show that a reduction in uncertainty induces more effort from less able students but, in contrast, less effort from more able students. Consistent with the theory, we empirically find that students returning from year-long internships have a flatter grade-ability profile.

Ministry of Education and Culture of Indonesia allowed the distance learning method due the ...prevention of transmission COVID-19. Institut Teknologi Sumatera ordered the implementation of distance learning method by accessing the online courses since 18th March 2020 to 29th May 2020. One of the obstacle for implementation the distance learning in Departement of Chemistry is the achievement of practical skill competencies. This study describes the implementation of alternative laboratory practice in home at one of biochemistry topic using daily chemical and been adjusted with Department of Chemistry learning outcomes and curriculum. Design of this study is one-shot case study and subjects were the 92 of second year college students at Department of Chemistry, Institut Teknologi Sumatera. Instruments of this study are quesioner guideline and student practicum report. The result of implementation the alternative laboratory practice in home were 71.7% of students well-understood the instruction in handbook, 82.6% of students agreed that the topic of distance laboratory practice been accordance with the curriculum, and 80.4% of students were able to elaborate other useful topic of implementation laboratory practice in daily life. Around 86.9% of students could make the good practicum report. Implementation of chemistry laboratory practice using daily chemical in home could be considered as one of alternative distance laboratory practice to achieve the practical skill competencies.
Dalam kegiatan praktikum mahasiswa mengalami kesulitan yang berbeda-beda. Kesulitan ini terkait pengenalan alat-alat praktikum serta cara penggunaan alat-alat tersebut. Oleh karena itu, analisis ...pengetahuan awal mahasiswa dilakukan sebagai analisis kebutuhan, agar kegiatan praktikum dapat terlaksana dengan baik dan sesuai tujuan praktikum. Jenis penelitian ini adalah deskriptif kuantitatif yang bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan pengetahuan awal mahasiswa teknik mengenai jenis, fungsi, bahan dan cara menggunakan alat praktikum materi koloid dalam perkuliahan kimia dasar mahasiswa teknik. Teknik pengumpul data yang digunakan dalam penelitian adalah teknik nontes berupa kuesioner dan pengamatan. Sampel penelitian ini adalah mahasiswa tingkat I FT Universitas Ekasakti dalam perkuliahan Kimia Dasar semester ganjil 2019/2020. Pengambilan sampel menggunakan teknik simple random sampling berjumlah 70 orang. Data hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa rata-rata persentase pengetahuan awal mahasiswa untuk pipet tetes 73,57%, gelas kimia 85,01%, tabung reaksi 86,49%, penjepit kayu 88,21%, serta corong pisah 56,78%. Dari data persentase dapat disimpulkan bahwa pengetahuan awal mahasiswa teknik terkait pipet tetes termasuk kategori cukup, pengetahuan mahasiswa terhadap gelas kimia, tabung reaksi, dan penjepit tabung termasuk kategori sangat baik, dan pengetahuan mahasiswa mengenai corong pisah termasuk kategori kurang. Dengan demikian, instruktur perlu membimbing mahasiswa untuk tetap berhati-hati menggunakan peralatan praktikum, terutama dalam menggunakan corong pisah.
Hasil belajar dalam pembelajaran kimia tidak hanya sebatas pada aspek kognitif tetapi harus melihat aspek afektif dan psikomotorik. Ketiga aspek tersebut dapat terukur dari kegiatan praktikum dan ...dapat mengetahui kemampuan keterampilan proses sains. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui dan mendeskripsikan keterampilan proses sains mahasiswa pada praktikum dasar-dasar kimia analitik. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian deskriptif yang dilakukam pada mahasiswa pendidikan kimia. Data hasil penelitian dianalisis secara kuantitatif dan kualitatif. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa presentase indikator keterampilan proses sains yang tertinggi adalah merencanakan percobaan yaitu 76.33 % kategori baik sedangkan indikator terendah adalah menerapkan konsep yaitu 52.00% kategori cukup. Sehingga, secara keseluruhan keterampilan proses sains mahasiswa berdasarkan hasil observasi adalah 63.43% dengan kategori baik. Dengan demikian, dapat dinyatakan keterampilan proses sains mahasiswa pada praktikum dasar dasar kimia analitik adalah baik.

And then, we focus on the theoretical framework of the school-enterprise joint training model. Finally, combining computer technology, the paper puts forward the basic strategy of building the school-enterprise joint mode.
We use experimental data from a résumé audit to estimate the impact of particular college majors and internship experience on employment prospects. Despite applying exclusively to business-related ...job openings, we find no evidence that business degrees improve employment prospects. By contrast, internship experience increases the interview rate by 14%. The returns to internship experience are larger for (a) nonbusiness majors and (b) applicants with high academic ability. Our data support signaling as the most likely explanation regarding the effect of internships on employment opportunities.
•We present estimates from experimental data on the labor market for college graduates.•Fictitious resumes are submitted to jobs in business-related categories.•We find no evidence that business degrees improve job prospects.•Internships improve employment prospects substantially.•Internships appear to be signals of unobservables valued by employers.
Abstract
Blended Learning is a learning that combines face-to-face and online learning. In nursing practice courses, learning media about basic skills action procedures in nursing that can be ...accessed online is needed. Thus, it is necessary to design an instructional media containing action instructions for basic skills in nursing. The purpose of this research was to make video-based learning media as a guide to nursing procedures and to find out the results of the video-based learning media test. There were eight (8) stages in designing instructional media, namely: (1) writing video scripts, (2) taking video images, (3) editing videos, (4) validating, (5) revising, (6) uploading videos, (7) presenting videos to students, and (8) evaluating. This research was expected to produce teaching materials in the form of instructional video to support the lecturing process. The result of this study showed that the videos are very worthy.
Era globalisasi menuntut mahasiswa untuk memiliki jiwa kewirausahaan sehingga dengan kemampuan kreativitas, inovasi, kepemimpinan, dan manajerial mampu mendaya gunakan pengetahuannya. Konsep-konsep ...yang dipelajari pada mata kuliah Praktikum Kimia sangat dekat dengan kehidupan dunia mahasiswa. Perlu dikembangkan buku penuntun Praktikum Kimia yang dapat meningkatkan keaktifan, kreativitas, inovasi dan jiwa kewirausahaan mahasiswa. Salah satunya melalui pengembangan buku penuntun berbasis chemoentrepreunership (CEP). Pendekatan CEP mengandung nilai-nilai seperti mengejar peluang, melakukan pembaruan berani mengambil resiko, berani berbeda, menarik perhatian, dan pro pertumbuhan agar mahasiswa menjadi sosok yang logis, kreatif, perspektif ke depan dan berorientasi hasil. Penelitian ini bertujuan: 1) Mengetahui pengembangan buku penuntun kimia berbasis chemoentrepreunership. 2) Untuk mengetahui uji kelayakan buku penuntun kimia berbasis chemoentrepreunership sudah sesuai standart BSNP. Pengembangan menggunakan pendekatan Research and Development yang dimodifikasi dari model Borg & Gall. Instrumen pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah lembar validasi dan angket minat wirausaha mahasiswa. Penilaian dosen terhadap produk menghasilkan rata-rata skor 3,6 dengan kategori valid, sedangkan minat mahasiswa terhadap wirausaha sebelum dan setelah menggunakan produk mengalami peningkatan dari rata-rata skor 32 menjadi 59. Hal ini juga menunjukkan bahwa buku penuntun praktikum kimia berbasis CEP yang dikembangkan termasuk dalam kategori baik dan layak digunakan sebagai sumber belajar bagi mahasiswa kimia di UMTS
Multilayered 3D vascular replicas incorporating the complementary advantages of elastomers and hydrogels can serve as a training platform to realistically simulate endovascular intervention, the ...preferred therapeutic procedure for cardio‐cerebrovascular disease. However, the fabrication process is challenging because of the difficulty in uniformly coating a thin hydrogel layer only on the inner surface of tortuous 3D vascular replicas composed of an elastomer monolayer. This study proposes an effective strategy to design and produce high‐fidelity 3D vascular replicas composed of elastomer–hydrogel multilayers by coating hydrogel polymers with robust interfaces only on the inner surface of the elastomer monolayer. The thin hydrogel layer can impart soft surface elasticity, lubricity, and superaerophobicity to the elastomer monolayer with high bulk elasticity, with deionized water alone as the circulating liquid, without the aid of additional lubricants. Owing to the complementary properties of the elastomers and hydrogels, multilayered 3D vascular replicas facilitate the control of medical devices and internal circulation of fluids, enabling realistic simulations of endovascular intervention under optical images in addition to X‐ray angiography. Furthermore, through practice courses, neurosurgeons demonstrated that the multilayered 3D vascular replicas are a reasonable platform for developing hand–eye coordination with pre‐procedure simulations and case‐specific training on demanding surgical sites.

In order to improve the quality of information-based teaching in colleges and universities, promote the penetration of information technology into the classroom, and improve the teaching effect, ...based on the TPACK framework, this paper designs the information-based teaching cloud space in colleges and universities, and constructs the system framework by combining the learning theory and teaching needs with the characteristics of the cloud space. Teaching cloud space is to carry out research from four dimensions: technology dimension, teaching dimension, discipline dimension and deep learning dimension, to realize the integration of technology and education and teaching ideas, and to build a personalized teaching cloud space. The research results show that the information-based teaching cloud space based on TPACK theory can improve the teaching of practical courses and stimulate students' curiosity and enthusiasm for learning.
