Background
Several inventories have been developed to assess social problem‐solving. However, these instruments originally developed for adult or adolescence and do not capture the full range of main ...interpersonal relationships over which elementary students resolve daily life interpersonal problems and apply elementary‐age typical responses. Therefore, the development of a valid scale to measure interpersonal problem‐solving ability in elementary school students is warranted.
Aims
This study aimed to develop and perform a preliminary psychometric evaluation of an interpersonal problem‐solving inventory for elementary school students (IPSIE).
Samples and Methods
The IPSIE was administered to elementary student samples that consist of 516 Vietnamese elementary school students in grades 3–5. This study examined the reliabilities of International problem behaviour (IPB) and interpersonal problem‐solving inventory (IPSI) as well as the construct validity of IPSI. The construct validity of IPSI was investigated by using exploratory factor analysis (EFA) to explore the emerging factor structure of the data. The confirmatory factor analysis (CFA) was utilized to fit the data.
Results
The reliabilities of IPB and IPSI were assessed by calculating internal consistencies (Cronbach’s α = 0.79 vs. 0.90, McDonald's ω = 0.79 vs. 0.82). The EFA results suggested that the IPSI has two‐factor structure. The CFA was reexamined to define theory‐driven five‐factor structure of the IPSI’s data. The CFA findings indicated that the scores of IPSI have the five‐factor structure as expected with acceptable global fit indices (CFI: 0.943, TLI: 0.939, RMSEA: 0.030, and RMR: 0.046). The concurrent validity of IPSI was tested by calculating correlations between the IPSI and SPSI‐R scores (r = .667) and the IPSI and SPSTE‐A scores (r = .482).
Conclusions
These finding figures suggest that overall the scales of IPSIE are well‐functioning measures with good psychometric properties. Caution and limitations of IPSIE are discussed. Future study and possible applicability are suggested.

Abstract Inferring gene regulatory network (GRN) is one of the important challenges in systems biology, and many outstanding computational methods have been proposed; however there remains some ...challenges especially in real datasets. In this study, we propose Directed Graph Convolutional neural network-based method for GRN inference (DGCGRN). To better understand and process the directed graph structure data of GRN, a directed graph convolutional neural network is conducted which retains the structural information of the directed graph while also making full use of neighbor node features. The local augmentation strategy is adopted in graph neural network to solve the problem of poor prediction accuracy caused by a large number of low-degree nodes in GRN. In addition, for real data such as E.coli, sequence features are obtained by extracting hidden features using Bi-GRU and calculating the statistical physicochemical characteristics of gene sequence. At the training stage, a dynamic update strategy is used to convert the obtained edge prediction scores into edge weights to guide the subsequent training process of the model. The results on synthetic benchmark datasets and real datasets show that the prediction performance of DGCGRN is significantly better than existing models. Furthermore, the case studies on bladder uroepithelial carcinoma and lung cancer cells also illustrate the performance of the proposed model.
Abstract Non-invasive prenatal testing (NIPT) is a quite popular approach for detecting fetal genomic aneuploidies. However, due to the limitations on sequencing read length and coverage, NIPT ...suffers a bottleneck on further improving performance and conducting earlier detection. The errors mainly come from reference biases and population polymorphism. To break this bottleneck, we proposed NIPT-PG, which enables the NIPT algorithm to learn from population data. A pan-genome model is introduced to incorporate variant and polymorphic loci information from tested population. Subsequently, we proposed a sequence-to-graph alignment method, which considers the read mis-match rates during the mapping process, and an indexing method using hash indexing and adjacency lists to accelerate the read alignment process. Finally, by integrating multi-source aligned read and polymorphic sites across the pan-genome, NIPT-PG obtains a more accurate z-score, thereby improving the accuracy of chromosomal aneuploidy detection. We tested NIPT-PG on two simulated datasets and 745 real-world cell-free DNA sequencing data sets from pregnant women. Results demonstrate that NIPT-PG outperforms the standard z-score test. Furthermore, combining experimental and theoretical analyses, we demonstrate the probably approximately correct learnability of NIPT-PG. In summary, NIPT-PG provides a new perspective for fetal chromosomal aneuploidies detection. NIPT-PG may have broad applications in clinical testing, and its detection results can serve as a reference for false positive samples approaching the critical threshold.
Abstract Structural variation (SV) is an important form of genomic variation that influences gene function and expression by altering the structure of the genome. Although long-read data have been ...proven to better characterize SVs, SVs detected from noisy long-read data still include a considerable portion of false-positive calls. To accurately detect SVs in long-read data, we present SVDF, a method that employs a learning-based noise filtering strategy and an SV signature-adaptive clustering algorithm, for effectively reducing the likelihood of false-positive events. Benchmarking results from multiple orthogonal experiments demonstrate that, across different sequencing platforms and depths, SVDF achieves higher calling accuracy for each sample compared to several existing general SV calling tools. We believe that, with its meticulous and sensitive SV detection capability, SVDF can bring new opportunities and advancements to cutting-edge genomic research.
Abstract Motivation In the past decade, single-cell RNA sequencing (scRNA-seq) has emerged as a pivotal method for transcriptomic profiling in biomedical research. Precise cell-type identification is ...crucial for subsequent analysis of single-cell data. And the integration and refinement of annotated data are essential for building comprehensive databases. However, prevailing annotation techniques often overlook the hierarchical organization of cell types, resulting in inconsistent annotations. Meanwhile, most existing integration approaches fail to integrate datasets with different annotation depths and none of them can enhance the labels of outdated data with lower annotation resolutions using more intricately annotated datasets or novel biological findings. Results Here, we introduce scPLAN, a hierarchical computational framework designed for scRNA-seq data analysis. scPLAN excels in annotating unlabeled scRNA-seq data using a reference dataset structured along a hierarchical cell-type tree. It identifies potential novel cell types in a systematic, layer-by-layer manner. Additionally, scPLAN effectively integrates annotated scRNA-seq datasets with varying levels of annotation depth, ensuring consistent refinement of cell-type labels across datasets with lower resolutions. Through extensive annotation and novel cell detection experiments, scPLAN has demonstrated its efficacy. Two case studies have been conducted to showcase how scPLAN integrates datasets with diverse cell-type label resolutions and refine their cell-type labels.
