The article analyzes the relationship between the measures of the new economic policy and social processes in the Crimean ASSR. The NEP of 1920 was supposed not only to destroy economy, but also to ...form a national proletariat in the republic. The Crimean Tatars were supposed to become a social base for supporting the transformations of the Bolshevics. In the Crimean cities, unlike the industrial regions of the RSFSR, there was no proletariat. NEP formed it. Despite of the beginning of the industrialization policy, a radical change in the methods of economic regulation, this task was embodied in the 1990s as well.
In their Manifesto of the Communist Party, Karl Marx and Friedrich Engels write: The proletariat will use its political supremacy to wrest, by degree, all capital from the bourgeoisie, to centralise ...all instruments of production in the hands of the State, i.e., of the proletariat organised as the ruling class; and to increase the total productive forces as rapidly as possible. Of course, in the beginning, this cannot be effected except by means of despotic inroads despotischer Eingriffe on the rights of property, and on the conditions of bourgeois production. It is a striking passage that puts especially sharply a point they drive home over the course of their preceding dialogue with an imagined bourgeois interlocutor. That interlocutor repeatedly challenges communism on the...

This article evaluates the book dedicated to the work of Nikolai Korolkov. The authors of the review point out the necessity to expand the database of the sources with the help of the Moscow ...archives, they also suggest that the references to many available sources could help create a more holistic impression of the personality of the writer. Thus, the review of the work The city of roofs, deposited in the Russian State Archive of Literature and Art, has not been mentioned. The same archive holds other documents relevant for this topic. Since Saratov Association of Proletariat Writers (SAPP) was not validated in 1924 due to the lack of charter, the filing documents of its members are in Moscow, in the place where the funds of the principal organization – All-Union Association of Proletariat Writers (VAPP) – are deposited. The record card of the VAPP member was not used, although it could have helped to compile a more thorough biographical reference about the writer, since the record cards of this type always contained profession and the place of work or study of the member of the organization. The bibliography does not mention the already arranged chronicle of SAPP activity, the works of P. A. Bugaenko, A. K. Zhuikova, A. A. Demchenko, I. Yu. Ivanyushina, E. G. Elina, A. N. Donin and many others are not touched upon either. The most recent article by A. S. Kasovich is not cited (2022). Nevertheless, it is highlighted that the authors have delivered significant material for further research. Saratov school of philology is urged to render bibliographic help to the authors for the comprehensive augmentation of knowledge.
There is no doubt that Zimbabwe's Fast Track Land Reform Program resulted in repeasantization. As several studies point out, it also resulted in accumulation from below by a majority of the resettled ...peasantry. Our study focuses on an area where counter-agrarian reform is in motion and accumulation from below is constrained. In this location, we argue that repeasantization is severely being contested as indicated by the re-emergence of a dual-mode of production and the subsequent 'virtual' dispossession and proletarianization of the land reform beneficiaries. Our findings shed more light on the dynamics of capitalism and agrarian politics in a context where land reforms are implemented under neoliberalism. In this enclave, peasants after accessing land through the land reform collectivized their land and parceled it to the downsized and nearby capitalist farming system. The capitalist farming system engages in spatio-temporal fix by moving from one rural site to another as it follows the dictates of accumulation. While the possibility of full-scale land dispossession exists, the current state ownership of land and the peasantry's resistance provided some brakes to full-scale land dispossession. At the same time, the state's limited support to land reform beneficiaries fuels this localized land dispossession. The peasantry's exploitation in this enclave ranges from corvee labor to coercion into the mini-land enclosures; these are implemented by village heads, who are local state functionaries. This study also recasts the relevance of the Marxist framework in understanding rural dynamics more specifically; it revisits Karl Kautsky's arguments on the coexistence thesis of the peasantry and capitalist farming and illustrates the Zimbabwean state's ambivalence with regards to the conditions of peasant and capitalist farming.
As the present history reminds us, the idea of the people is as dangerous as it is problematic. Lawrence was of his generation and rather exhibits than solves the problems of thinking of human beings ...in collective terms. This is especially evident when it involves thinking in terms of race. I propose to look at a number of essays and fictions in the light of this question: Preface to Touch and Go, “Education of the People,” The Plumed Serpent, “England, my England,” and “The Woman who Rode Away.” I suggest that the understanding of collective experience may be taken as a matter of literal, causal psychology or as what Fredric Jameson calls “national allegory” and which he finds exemplified in a number of late twentieth-century novelists from around the world. Whatever Lawrence’s own understanding, these later writers provide a model for how we could now read his work.
Having as a time frame the Brazil of the Provisional Government of 1930 to the National Liberating Insurrection of 1935, this article seeks to situate the insertion of communists in the labor and ...trade union movement and in broader movements, as well as proletarian participation in the governing bodies of the party, bases on documentation from the Third Communist International and the archives of Brazilian repression, respectively researched by the authors in the collections of the Edgar Leuenroth Archive (AEL) of UNICAMP ant the Public Archive of the State of Rio de Janeiro (APERJ), among Other sources, in dialogue with part of historiography.
