This study is part of the Africa Infrastructure Country Diagnostic (AICD), a project designed to expand the world's knowledge of physical infrastructure in Africa. The AICD will provide a baseline ...against which future improvements in infrastructure services can be measured, making it possible to monitor the results achieved from donor support. It should also provide a more solid empirical foundation for prioritizing investments and designing policy reforms in the infrastructure sectors in Africa. The AICD is based on an unprecedented effort to collect detailed economic and technical data on the infrastructure sectors in Africa. The project has produced a series of original reports on public expenditure, spending needs, and sector performance in each of the main infrastructure sectors, including energy, information and communication technologies, irrigation, transport, and water and sanitation. The first phase of the AICD focused on 24 countries that together account for 85 percent of the gross domestic product, population, and infrastructure aid flows of Sub- Saharan Africa. Under a second phase of the project, coverage is expanding to include as many of the additional African countries as possible.

Mineral filer is an important component of the asphalt mixture, which plays a major role in ensuring the quality of asphalt mixtures. The specific surface area of mineral filler is about 90 % of the specific surface area of mineral materials in the asphalt mix. Mineral filler plays two roles in the asphalt mixture: it fills the pores between fine and coarse aggregates and structures the bitumen.

In such circumstances, it is important to have methodological approaches to determining the amount of damage caused by hostilities and further economic assessment of the damage. Problem Statement. Consideration of this topic is the need to clearly define methodological approaches to determining the amount of damage and losses caused to roads as a result of active hostilities. Purpose. To formulate methodological approaches to determining the amount of damage caused by hostilities and further economic assessment of the damage caused. The accuracy and validity of the methodological approach determines the admissibility of the reliability of the calculation and determination of the amount of funds. To accomplish this task, it is necessary to establish definitions of the concepts of "damage" and "losses", since these are different concepts and should be clearly understood by all professionals who will assess the amount of damage.

Purpose. To find solutions to clarify the condition of the existing pavement and to determine in more detail the factors of deterioration. Research methods. Analytical and experimental with the use of computer modeling. Conclusions. Based on the results of the research, an algorithm for conducting the survey was developed, which consists of two consecutive stages. This algorithm is based on the results of the first stage of the survey that provides that not only data are collected, but also envisages that a program for the second stage of the survey is drawn up. Based on the results of the second stage of the survey, a plan diagram of the same type of road sections is formed, the need for additional preparatory work to eliminate local areas with deterioration is determined, and constructive and technological solutions for the repair of pavement using cold recycling technology are developed with the determination of the depth of milling, the amount and composition of stone materials that are additionally added to the mixture, the composition of the binder, etc.

DSTU EN 13108-1 establishes requirements for asphalt mixtures used for the arrangement of pavement layers of roads, airfields, etc. These asphalt mixtures are used for arranging the ...base layer, binding layer, and a surface layer. Problem statement. A special feature of DSTU EN 13108-1 is that it establishes general requirements for all indicators, in particular for grading. That is there are no specific requirements for the grading of asphalt mixtures depending on the road category, traffic loading and the location of the asphalt concrete layer in the road pavement structure. Therefore, it is advisable to consider in detail the requirements for the grading of asphalt mixtures, compare them with the requirements of national standards and propose appropriate national requirements. Purpose. Establishment of national requirements for the grading of asphalt mixtures according to DSTU EN 13108-1.

However, the challenges of global changes in the field of transport, which determine the need for constant modernization and development of infrastructure, call into question the competitiveness of countries and regions that cannot provide high-quality and efficient infrastructure. The requirements for tools that are designed to ensure the ...implementation of this process in airports are constantly growing, which requires their constant addition and improvement. It is obvious that environmental monitoring is becoming an integral part of ensuring the strategic development of the airport and is defined by government institutions, investors and all stakeholders as mandatory. Problem Statement. International airports that are interested in their own development should try to implement the best quality tools to improve environmental efficiency. One of them is to be an adequate criterion-based assessment according to the relevant schemes and plans, which will become part of the airport's strategy for the coming decades. Purpose. Based on the defined criteria for assessing the environmental performance of international airports, to finalize and clarify the importance coefficients of these criteria, as well as to propose an effective scheme for implementing environmental measures at international airports, supporting it with appropriate calculations. Materials and Methods. The article uses expert assessment methods to clarify the importance coefficients of the criteria for assessing the environmental performance of international airports, as well as mathematical modelling methods to assess the effectiveness of environmental management. In addition, the methodological basis for ensuring environmental monitoring at airports was analyzed, and it was found that the most active researchers, in solving the tasks, used factor analysis methods and a number of mathematical modelling methods. Results. The use of the refined coefficients of the criteria importance for assessing the environmental performance of international airports proposed in this paper allowed us to assess the effectiveness of environmental management for a number of European airports and to assert that the level of environmental performance is above average, but each of them, based on a review of the proposed criteria, can refine their environmental plans for the future by minimizing emissions.
Introduction. Ensuring road safety is one of the foremost tasks in any country with vehicular traffic. Despite significant efforts made to improve road safety in Ukraine and globally, the issue of ...traffic accidents is still relevant. Problem statement. Given the relatively high level of mortality due to accidents, Ukraine needs to ensure highly qualified management of road safety, which requires an integrated approach and consideration of various aspects, including legislation, infrastructure, vehicles and road user’s behavior. Purpose. Ensuring road safety, reducing the severity of the consequences of traffic accidents and providing comfortable travel conditions for road users. Materials and methods. Current legislative acts and regulatory documents regarding the identification of places (areas) of concentration of traffic accidents, as well as statistical information on the number of such places (areas) were analyzed. Results. It has been established that the implementation of a new criterion for identifying the places (areas) of the concentration of traffic accidents is justified and indicates a systematic approach to road safety management.
