En la discusión se detallan los vacíos enlas investigaciones actuales y los retos para el estudio de estas nuevas movilidades humanas.
Background: Weight-related teasing (WRT) is a prevalent and pervasive consequence of weight stigma. Experiences with WRT in childhood contribute to adverse long-term physical and mental health ...outcomes, above and beyond the contributions of body size. However, few studies have examined how WRT is associated with psychological well-being in youth, particularly those living in rural communities. Methods: The purpose of this study was to examine the link between WRT with depressive symptoms and loneliness in rural Oregon youth. It was hypothesized that higher composite scores including both frequency of and distress related to WRT would be significantly and positively associated with depressive symptoms and loneliness in children. Further, it was hypothesized that gender and body appreciation would moderate these associations, such that the association would be exacerbated among girls and buffered among those with high levels of appreciation for their body. Results: 75 children (8-10y; Mage = 8.97 ± 0.82 y, MBMI% = 62.8 +/- 27.6, 84% non-Hispanic white) living in rural Oregon completed fasting anthropometric measurements and surveys measuring demographic information, WRT frequency and distress, depressive symptoms, loneliness, and body appreciation. After adjusting for BMI and gender, multiple regression models suggested that WRT was significantly and positively associated with loneliness (B = 4.29, p < .01) but not with depressive symptoms. Neither gender nor body appreciation moderated these associations. Independently, body appreciation was significantly and inversely related with both depressive (B = -0.38, p < .01) and loneliness (B = -0.86, p < .01). Conclusions: Study findings indicate that WRT in elementary school-aged children is linked with negative psychosocial outcomes, such as loneliness and social dissatisfaction. These data support ongoing efforts to intervene with and reduce instances of WRT, as well as the promotion of body appreciation among young children.
The purpose of the study was to find out how women manage credit in rural district in Ghana and examine the relationship between credit management and age and educational level of women. One hundred ...and eighty-three respondents were randomly selected from four different groups of women engaged in small scale businesses in rural communities in Ghana. Data was collected with structured interview schedule. The results were analyzed and presented in frequency, percentage; mean, standard deviation, correlation and regression tables. Findings revealed that most of the women sourced credit from informal sources such as friends, family members and credited items from wholesalers. The women lacked proper credit management skills and therefore managed credit sourced in their own informal ways such through daily ‘susu’ contribution, kept sales of various items sold in different containers and records of purchases and sales kept in memory and set money aside for replacing equipment. Also, they managed to honour repayment because it was upon regular payments agreement of credit that more credit was given to keep them in business. Based on the findings, it is recommended that the micro-credit financial institutions and the local government who offer credit to such small scale businesses as well as the universities should organize credit management programmes as part of their community service to train the women on skills in record keeping, savings and the application of principles of credit management especially budgeting in order to effectively manage credit sourced.
Previous studies have documented geographic variation in preventable hospitalizations between rural and urban areas, but much less is known about preventable hospitalization patterns between ...heterogeneous rural areas. Unique challenges related to access of care and poverty may put the rural Appalachian Region at risk for higher rates of preventable hospitalizations.
This study examines whether within-rural differences in Kentucky's preventable hospitalization rates exist and how these differences may be changing over time.
Longitudinal and geographic trends in county-level preventable hospitalization rates were examined using Kentucky hospital discharge data from 2016 to 2019. Regression models were run to determine whether changes over time in preventable hospitalization rates led to an increasing or decreasing gap in outcomes between rural Appalachian counties and their urban and rural non- Appalachian counterparts.
Rural Appalachian counties consistently had significantly higher preventable hospitalizations rates compared to their rural non-Appalachian and urban counterparts (
< 0.01). A downward trend in overall preventable hospitalizations was observed for rural Appalachia over time, but trends were relatively stable for rural non-Appalachian and urban counties. Regression results indicate that there was no significant reduction in the "Appalachian gap" over time.
The analyses confirm that rural areas within Kentucky experienced highly heterogeneous rates of preventable hospitalizations. Despite Medicaid expansion, there is little evidence of any narrowing of the "Appalachian gap." Focus on improving access to care alone may be insufficient to improve outcomes. Alternative strategies that leverage population health approaches may improve capacity to address complex health and social needs in rural Appalachia.

The academic research on rural tourism in China has gradually developed from the initial agricultural tourism to the integration of ecological environment, folk cultureand B&B industry. Although the concepts of rural revitalization and rural tourism have different understandings, they have many similarities in the construction and transformation of villages, and both have a positive impact on the economic development of villages. Combining the knowledge of multiple disciplines such as agronomy, tourism, ecology and statistics, a hierarchical structure model of the evaluation index system for the coupled development of rural revitalization and rural tourism is constructed by means of expert opinion solicitation, and the importance values of the evaluation indexes are obtained in comparison with each other. The quantitative evaluation table of rural revitalization and rural tourism development is compiled and formed to provide theoretical suggestions for the development of rural revitalization and rural tourism.

This study investigated the effects of implementing an online instant response system “Kahoot!” in an Earth Science class in a rural area of Taiwan. The study adopted the mixed-methods approach, ...based primarily on a quasi-experimental approach, to investigate the effects. The participants were randomly grouped into two classes, with Kahoot! as the intervention. The seventh-grade junior high school students were instructed by the same teacher. The research questions were whether the mobile technology impacted students' learning motivation and achievement and how the learning processes proceeded. Data were collected through surveys, student assignments, exams, learning journals, and interviews. The results indicated that the implementation of “Kahoot!” can enhance these rural-area students' learning motivation, gain the rural-area students' attention, and create incentives for the students to preview and review learning materials promoting learning efficiency. Moreover, the integration enhanced learning achievement. On the other hand, the teachable moments Kahoot! created may not be sustainable. It is hoped that the research findings can provide teachers with implications and guidelines to successfully integrate mobile technologies to enhance learning in their classrooms.
