Romania is among the European countries with a remarkable spa fund what made the Romanian spa tourism have an old tradition and know a great deal development. Of all the tourism segments in Romania, ...the spa tourism is the only one form of tourism that is based on a permanent, highly complex, practical potential inexhaustible and independent of atmospheric conditions. In line with the increasing development of information technology, in parallel with the isolation of man of nature, it is increasingly evident from the point of view of the body-mind-spirit relationship the importance of tourism products, with an emphasis on health, meeting global needs, aggregates, by extending the concept of health to achieving well-being. Well-being, superior to happiness, means having a clear direction to be followed in life, a sense of belonging, a coherent and positive vision of life, and a sense of affiliation, and is more and more common in the literature, other needs on different stages of Maslow's pyramid. Considering the complexity of health tourism with its forms, it can be said that it has become a form of tourism "of the senses".
Natural resources are recognized among the key determinants for the improvement of wellness, and thus the development and sustainability of health tourism destinations. This study applied a ...systematic review to investigate the contributions mapping and analyzing under different perspectives the value of the natural resources of a destination and related activities for health tourism. The main research topics identified from a review of 52 papers include the analysis and exploitation of natural resources in health tourism, the nature-based factors considered in clustering of tourists and their motivations, the development of value offer and marketing, as well as the cultural issues. Research gaps and future directions are summarized in a research agenda laying the foundations for the development of a multidisciplinary research stream focused on nature-based health tourism. Results also represent a key reference for managers and policy makers to identify key issues, areas of intervention and practices for industry development in the health tourism destinations through an effective and sustainable exploitation of natural resources.
Despite the popularity of spa tourism worldwide and the size of the labour force, there is a paucity of research about these employees. The casual, often low paid, workforce is largely comprised of ...women, and there are challenges associated with body work - touching another person's naked body in intimate settings - and its association with "dirty work" in a moral sense. The potential for experiencing sexual harassment from clients and the emotional demands this can place on employees has negative implications for the social and economic sustainability of the industry, including employee wellbeing, and may contribute to staff turnover. A qualitative phenomenological study based on interviews with spa therapists in Victoria, Australia explored these women's experiences of sexual harassment, with emotional labour used as a theoretical lens. Findings suggest that some therapists feel obliged to hide their true feelings when experiencing sexual harassment by their clients, which results in emotional dissonance and exacts an emotional toll. Participants discussed strategies to cope with the emotional dimension of their experiences, and to address the perceived taint arising from occupational stigma. Implications of these findings for gendered practices, decent work and sustainable employment within the spa tourism industry are discussed.
The purpose of the article is to substantiate the directions of health tourism development in Czechia. The purpose of the study is the subjects of health tourism: well-known rehabilitation centers in ...Czechia, medical institutions, health resorts. The methodological basis was formed by the following methods: abstract-logical; statistical; expert evaluation; cluster analysis; piecewise linear approximation. Among the most popular regions of Czechia for health tourism, the main places are Prague, Moravian-Silesia, Olomouc, Plzeň, South Moravian and South Bohemian. The increase in the number of patients among residents of the country and foreigners who use health tourism services is studied. The five leaders among the countries that used the services are identified. The main problems and advantages of health tourism in Czechia are identified. The Czech tourism development strategy for 2021–2030 is analyzed and directions for its implementation are proposed. Originality / value : the originality of the study lies in forecasting the directions of health tourism development in Czechia using the method of piecewise linear approximation in the following areas: adults with health insurance; adults at their own expense, children and teenagers, which will increase the volume of income for health tourism institutions in Czechia. According to the forecasting results, the demand for health services will increase by 3% annually. The results of this study can be useful for substantiating the directions of further health tourism development in the country, which will ensure the competitiveness and investment attractiveness of the country.
The paper explores how colours can underpin critical research in people's well-being and life. Following a brief introduction to the principles of colours and Colour Mirrors system, the paper ...elaborates on how the coloured oils and essences' principles can drive healing and well-being in a spa, wellness, and life. We used EMADEL (emission-absorption near-electric field detection of biofield) in the experiments. This method measures the organisms' response to near-field exposure markedly different from the expected behaviour. As the second method, we used Bio-resonance, where the researcher uses a device to analyse the person's electromagnetic waves and alter them before returning them to the body.
Serbian spas, with their abundant geothermal springs and air qualities, are a significant natural resource for the country. Nowadays, tourism industry has become a predominant beneficiary attracting ...both leisure- and health-related visits. Nonetheless, the literature on current consumer behavior is devoid of a model that incorporates both motivating and constraining factors in the spa and wellness industry’s decision-making process. Serbia’s spa industry is still adjusting to the needs of the modern wellness visitor as a result of the country’s unique transitional path. The purpose of this study is to ascertain the role of incentive and restrictions in the destination selection process of spa visitors in Serbia, to gain insight into the development of wellness tourism in a particular sociocultural environment. The analytical hierarchy process was used to determine the relative relevance of the consumer behavior elements evaluated. The findings indicate that non-medical motivations are becoming more important, implying that demand is finally shifting toward the wellness idea, which was initially disrupted by the country’s delayed transformation. The findings have administrative ramifications, the most significant of which were price strategies and product diversification.

Purpose
The purpose of this study is to assess the level of adjustment of the activities of health tourism and hospitality enterprises to the sustainable development criteria developed by the global ...sustainable tourism council.
Design/methodology/approach
The main research method used in this study was a diagnostic survey – an in-depth interview. This research was conducted among managers of 18 of the largest enterprises that conduct tourism and wellness activities in Polish health resorts.
Findings
The analysis of the research results indicated that only every other surveyed health resort entity implemented a sustainable development system or program. Most health resort entities undertook initiatives to support the local community in the field of education, health, sanitary safety and mitigating the negative effects of climate change. The respondents also unequivocally stated that they used good practices in promoting cultural heritage among health resort guests. Almost all of the analyzed enterprises applied solutions aimed at saving natural resources, i.e. reducing unnecessary purchases and saving electricity and water. Participation in programs to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and means of transport usage was very rarely declared.
Practical implications
It is recommended to include environmental issues in the business models of health tourism entities, e.g. by including them in the strategy, including mission, communicating pro-environmental goals and actions to stakeholders, and applying environmental management systems and concepts.
Originality/value
The research problem is a strong point of the work, as the issue of sustainable development of tourist organizations has rarely been discussed so far. Health resorts were also not considered the subject of research in this area. In this research, the authors assessed the degree of compliance of health tourism enterprises with the requirements of sustainable development, which is a contribution to the science system.
Geothermal waters are very important as a natural resource and represent hot water rich in minerals, which is the basis for the development of health tourism. In this paper, the research was ...conducted with the aim of pointing out the real state of the Selters Spa in Mladenovac, the City of Belgrade, Serbia, as a tourist destination, with a focus on the attitudes of visitors. A quantitative comparative analysis of tourist traffic in this spa in relation to other spas in Serbia was performed using official statistical data. Empirical research was conducted through interviews and surveys, and then, based on the obtained results, a qualitative analysis of the current situation in Selters Spa was performed. The obtained results indicate that the development of tourism in the Selters Spa is stagnating. The data analysis suggested that the most significant reasons for this are the concept that mainly relies on visitors who come for rehabilitation treatments, the elderly and almost mostly domestic tourists.
