Creating the cinematic mind of the cinematic world with its cars, buildings, streets and people is relatively unhelpful for the spectator's experience in most films because he experiences it in ...reality better, of course. But a coherent and comprehensive concept of cinematic being must be able to explain the film's objects and the film's style. In order to ultimately help the spectator to understand flexible cinematic thinking.The idea resides inside the head of the spectator, and settles there until a particular film merges into cinematic thinking that recreates the real world of the spectator in an interesting narrative way in displaying and arranging events through the use of visual and audio effects.Stylistic analysis concepts help us get close acquaintance with the constituent elements of cinematic form and thus our ability to know the preferences of spectators and the characteristics of the cinematic elements that influence their emotional response. In comparison between the descriptive analysis and the functional analysis, job analysis will be concerned with fewer relationships between the elements of the film, as they belong to the shape or style of the film, as it is not always that all the possible relationships between the elements contribute to the achievement of the goal of the film. Of course, if all relationships do, the functional explanation will care about them all. But that will be the exception and not the rule. This type of analysis is not only a description of the film, but an explanation of the way the film took, so this analysis increases our understanding and understanding of the work we are dealing with.The research also discusses recent studies in cinematic music by applying two models to explain the ways in which cinematic music interacts with the spectator's psychological world, which are interpretations similar to the ones built through studies that explain visual stimuli and images in cinema.To define the semantic functions and narrative functions of the influence of cinematic music on spectator response in light of psychoanalytic theory and cognitive science.
Authorship style transfer aims to modify the style of neutral text to match the unique speaking or writing style of a particular individual. While Large Language Models (LLMs) present promising ...solutions, their effectiveness is limited by the small number of in-context learning demonstrations, particularly for authorship styles not frequently seen during pre-training. In response, this paper proposes an inverse transfer data augmentation (ITDA) method, leveraging LLMs to create (neutral text, stylized text) pairs. This method involves removing the existing styles from stylized texts, a process made more feasible due to the prevalence of neutral texts in pre-training. We use this augmented dataset to train a compact model that is efficient for deployment and adept at replicating the targeted style. Our experimental results, conducted across four datasets with distinct authorship styles, establish the effectiveness of ITDA over traditional style transfer methods and forward transfer using GPT-3.5. Over the last few decades, Internet-based communication has become an increasingly dominant form of information exchange. Not surprisingly, the development and use of social media have led to ...language change. At the same time, opportunities have arisen for linguists to explore and analyze the linguo-stylistic characteristics of social media usage. Therefore, this paper deals with the dilemmas and comments posted by the members of the Facebook and Instagram communities Jezičke nedoumice (Eng. Linguistic Dilemmas) and Dnevna doza pravopisa (Eng. A Daily Dose of Standard Serbian), as well as the Krstarica forum Jezik (Eng. Language). These communities were formed with the aim of solving linguistic issues and improving the linguistic knowledge of their users. Our research will focus on the nature of posts and comments on the popular social media websites, in terms of their linguistic and stylistic features. Its aim is to identify and classify these features by examining the rhetorical devices used. The collection of the corpus material relied on the presence of the following stylemes in the social media discussions on linguistic topics: (1) phonostylemes, (2) semantostylemes, (3) syntaxostylemes, and (4) graphostylemes.
Epistolary "Novel and Discursive Ethos": Stylistic interpretation of La voie de ma rue by Sylvain Kean Zoh The aim of this article is to conduct a stylistic analysis of the discursive ethos presented ...in the epistolary novel "La voie de ma rue" by Ivorian writer Sylvain Kean Zoh. Specifically, it examines how the main character constructs a nuanced ethos through a letter that raises awareness about street children. This analysis focuses on the interplay between fragility and resilience within the character's discourse. Here, ethos refers to the image crafted by a speaker to be perceived and understood through their speech. This study employs stylistics as a literary approach to scrutinise and interpret the linguistic resources exploited by the writer. The central question addressed is how linguistic and enunciative-discursive elements serve to shape ethos, inviting stylistic interpretation within the framework of the epistolary novel. The article argues that discursive ethos, a concept rooted in ancient rhetoric, is richly explored and invested in La voie de ma rue. The ethos portrayed in this work is distinctive, rooted in the protagonist's challenging life experiences as a self-described wanderer. The construction of ethos is notably influenced by the specific spatio-temporal contexts in which the subject evolves. For instance, the childhood locales evoke an ethos of fragility, whereas the character’s experiences in the capital city foster an ethos of resilience. In the familiar places of his childhood, the character articulates a discourse amidst an ethos of fragility. However, upon unexpectedly finding himself in the capital, he begins to develop a narrative of resilience within his discourse. This analysis posits that the stylistic examination of ethos in the epistolary novel is facilitated by various literary devices. Among these, deixis, rhetorical questions, axiological lexis, and affective modalisation are identified as particularly significant in shaping and conveying the ethos of the protagonist's narrative. The findings revealed that the stylistic analysis of discursive ethos in Sylvain Kean Zoh's "La voie de ma rue" reveals how the protagonist, through his wandering journey, shapes the notions of ethos regarding fragility and resilience. The text explores various linguistic and enunciative techniques such as personal deixis, rhetorical questions, negations, and evaluative terms, all playing crucial roles as textual dominants. The influence of spatio-temporal context on ethos construction is notable, transforming childhood places into foundations of fragility ethos, and the capital city into a catalyst for resilience ethos. Through life's trials, the narrator-character, an early orphan, evolves from initial fragility to affirmed resilience, shaped by his urban environment. "La voie de ma rue" thus demonstrates how the epistolary novel can be effectively studied through a stylistic analysis focused on discursive ethos.
A comienzos del siglo xv, con la expansión del Imperio inka en el Noroeste Argentino se inicia un proceso de creciente complejidad económica, social y política. En Antofagasta de la Sierra ...(Catamarca, Argentina) su presencia es evidente en la infraestructura productiva y vial, y son muy escasos los hallazgos de otras materialidades. Recientemente, se ha excavado el contexto funerario Casa Eladio Reales i (cer i) que aporta un conjunto de evidencias, en particular cerámicos, para una primera aproximación al nuevo paisaje social definido por lo inka. En este trabajo abordamos el análisis morfoestilístico del conjunto alfarero recuperado en cer i, entendiendo las piezas no solo como una expresión material, sino también como elementos simbólicos que participan en procesos de socialización, en los que se construyen formas de mirar, creencias y significados, tanto de los nuevos participantes como de los habitantes originarios. De esta manera, las cerámicas de este entierro múltiple dan cuenta de la convivencia de objetos que evocan lugares distantes y conforman el entramado social al sur del Tawantinsuyu.
As a part of a stylistic analysis of Hemingway’s short stories, this paper focuses on “Hills Like White Elephants” from his short story collection Men Without Women. The author extracted high ...frequency content words and word clusters（ 5-gram） repeated in the story by using some methods of corpus linguistics and examined them in context. As a result, it is revealed that Hemingway skillfully uses the three main content words want, know, and looked in a work of only about 1500 words and effectively depicts the differences in perception and friction between the male and female protagonists regarding the new life conceived by her.
The article discusses the comparative hermeneutic analysis of the semantic-derivational worldview of the translators who render the classical poetic text in different historical periods. The ...relevance of the study is stipulated by the increased attention to the sociocultural determination of meaning generation within the framework of the cognitive-and-discursive paradigm that dominates in the modern community of linguists and translators. Cossack Cradle Song and its five translations into German carried out in different periods served as the practical material. The article aims to establish the features of multi-temporal Russian-German translations of the poem and the source text as a single semantic space that reflects the worldview of the author of the original text, variably explicated by different translators through the language of the target text. According to the research hypothesis, poetic translation reflects the translator's hermeneutic interaction with the original text, which generates the personal meaning of the translated text. The findings of the linguo-stylistic analysis of the Cossack Cradle Song at the semantic, meta-semiotic, and meta-metasemiotic levels, reveal that the compensation technique plays the leading role in the process of translating the poetic text studied in this article, contributing to the achievement of expressive and impressive equivalence of the original and the translation in the process of explication of invariant content-factual and content-conceptual meanings, as well as the subjective-personal determinism of translation decisions, which does not contradict the intentions implied by the author of the source text.
This volume examines the stylistic characteristics of threatening and abusive letters by right-wing extremists as well as left-wing extremist position papers and claims to responsibility. It applies ...qualitative and quantitative analytical methods to identify and describe the differences and similarities between these text types. The findings facilitate understanding of these text types and provide new perspectives for forensic author analysis.
Stylistic analysis implies analyzing a poem from the linguistic as well as critical point of view. While the former leads to a better understanding of the devices used and the construction of the ...poem, the latter enables one to look at the poem from a critical angle. Together, one gets a complete and comprehensive picture of the poem. In stylistics, it is possible to look at a poem from the point of view of graphology, morphology, phonology and lexico-syntactic level. In this paper, the poem “the Snake’ by D. H. Lawrence has been analysed stylistically. It helps the reader to notice the unique features of the poem that may be otherwise missed and leads to a better understanding of the poem.
While there has been a sustained interest in conducting stylistic studies on fiction, specifically novels and short stories, the literature about stylistic analysis of flash fiction as a literary ...genre remains scant. Thus, the present study attempts to conduct a lexical and syntactic analysis of Ian Rosales Casocot’s “There Are Other Things Beside Brightness And Light.” The analysis was anchored in two of the four linguistic and stylistic categories proposed by Leech and Short (2007), namely lexical and grammatical. To communicate the narrator’s traumatic experience, the following lexical categories were found: words that evoke the main character’s recollected sensations, particularly visual; a Latin expression, and slang words; concrete nouns providing access to the feelings of the main character; abstract nouns connoting psychological or emotional processes; and adjectives depicting sensory imageries and representing, along with some verbs, psychological states that carry negative connotations. Stative verbs vis-à-vis dynamic ones echo the impressions of attachment and detachment, and memory in the story, which link to the adverbs of manner in the text. On the other hand, these grammatical features contributed to text interpretation: cumulative or loose sentences depicting a series of rapid thoughts of the narrator who recalls a traumatic experience; mini-paragraphs, i.e., text fragmentation, foregrounding the theme of the narrative; a verb-tense shift from past to future, and the demonstrative pronouns that and this representing the struggle of the narrator to escape from the vexatious memory of pain and trauma; and the em dash paving the way for the narrator’s emotional rumination. The stylistic analysis, particularly lexical and syntactic, provides a more objective and profound understanding of the underlying meanings of the FF under study.
