U članku se obrađuju i prezentiraju ilustracije češkog slikara Karela Svobode (1824.– 1870.) nastale za nikad objavljeno djelo Ljudevita Gaja Dogodovština Ilirije Velike. Analiza Svobodinih drvoreza ...i crteža, sačuvanih u Zbirci rukopisa i starih knjiga Nacionalne i sveučilišne knjižnice u Zagrebu, uključuje ikonografsko određivanje i tumačenje prizora, njihovo postavljanje u kontekst kulturnopolitičkih zbivanja 1840-ih godina te početaka historijskog slikarstva u Hrvatskoj i na širem području Habsburške Monarhije.
The study is the first to examine Anglo-Czechoslovak relations during the second world war from the perspective of discourse analysis. It reconstructs the evolution of the Czechoslovak exiles' ...Anglophilia through articles published in three major exile newspapers - Čechoslovák, Mladé/Nové Československo and Nová svoboda - between October 1939 and May 1945. It claims that the new significant Other, whose image included numerous idealizations as well as objective reflections, liberated exiled Czechs and served as an important guide in the quest for a better future for their own country. The study also demonstrates how quickly favourable conditions can create fruitful transcultural space between nations that had, hitherto, been separated by geography, culture and language.
This collection surveys the translator training landscape in international organizations on a global scale, offering a state-of-the-art view on institutional translator training research and ...practical takeaways for stakeholders. The volume’s focus on training brings a unique perspective to existing research on institutional translation, which has tended to single out such themes as agency, professionalism, and quality. The book is divided into three sections, with the first outlining the competences required of institutional translators, the second exploring training practices at the university level and "on the job", for novices and professionals, across a range of settings, and the third providing a synthesis of the above. Contributions draw on findings from studies in both institutional desiderata and existing training programmes from diverse geographic contexts towards situating the discussion through a global lens. In linking together competences and training practices, the book enhances collective knowledge of institutional translation and provides valuable insights for universities and institutions that work with translators on both international and national scales. This book will be key reading for scholars in translation studies, particularly those interested in institutional translation and translator training, as well as active professionals. The Open Access version of this book, available at http://www.taylorfrancis.com, has been made available under a Creative Commons Attribution-Non Commercial-No Derivatives (CC-BY-NC-ND) 4.0 license.
Purpose of Review
Exosomes are membrane vesicles that are released by most cell types into the extracellular environment. The purpose of this article is to discuss the main morphological features and ...contents of bone-derived exosomes, as well as their major isolation and physical characterization techniques. Furthermore, we present various scenarios and discuss potential clinical applications of bone-derived exosomes in bone repair and regeneration.
Recent Findings
Exosomes were believed to be nanosized vesicles derived from the multivesicular body. Reports now suggest that nanovesicles could bud directly from the plasma membrane. However, the exosome cargo is cell-type specific and is derived from the parent cell. In the bone matrix, several intracellular proteins lacking a signal peptide are transported to the ECM by exosomes. Besides proteins, several mRNA, miRNA, and lipids are exported to the ECM by bone cells and bone marrow stromal cells. Recent evidence suggests that several of the functional components in the cargo could regulate processes of bone formation, inhibit osteoclast activity, and promote fracture repair.
Summary
Exosomes are powerful cellular molecular machines produced without human intervention and packaged with physiological cargo that could be utilized for molecular therapy in several skeletal disorders such as osteoporosis, osteogenesis imperfecta, and fracture healing. Although much work has been done, there is a lot of information that is still unknown, as exosomes contain a multitude of molecules whose identity and function have yet to be identified.

Can libertarians care about social justice? In Free Market Fairness, John Tomasi argues that they can and should. Drawing simultaneously on moral insights from defenders of economic liberty such as ...F. A. Hayek and advocates of social justice such as John Rawls, Tomasi presents a new theory of liberal justice. This theory, free market fairness, is committed to both limited government and the material betterment of the poor. Unlike traditional libertarians, Tomasi argues that property rights are best defended not in terms of self-ownership or economic efficiency but as requirements of democratic legitimacy.

Článek se zabývá ochranou náboženského cítění v České republice v kontextu ojedinělého případu sporu kardinála Duky s brněnskou divadelní scénou ohledně divadelních her s blasfemickými prvky. Autorka ...provádí kontextuální analýzu rozhodnutí vydaných v tomto sporu, a to zejména rozsudku Nejvyššího soudu a nálezu Ústavního soudu a poukazuje na problematické aspekty odůvodnění obou rozhodnutí.
