Aunque existen publicaciones significativas sobre este tema, desde el volumen pionero de Rozsika Parker titulado The Subversive Stitch: Embroidery and the Making of the Feminine (1984), hasta la ...reciente publicación de Julia Bryan-Wilson: Fray: Art and Textile Politics (2017), el objetivo de este dossier de H-ART es profundizar en la reflexión sobre casos específicos que abarcan un universo geográfico y cultural más amplio; se busca así lograr una mayor reflexión sobre las implicaciones y aportaciones de obras representativas de estas “intervenciones suaves" en la construcción de nuevos discursos en los campos del arte y la historia del arte, y su papel en el desmontaje y reconfiguración de categorías, dicotomías y cartografías constitutivas del canon histórico-artístico. Lamento que, por circunstancias ajenas a nuestra voluntad, hay poca presencia en el dossier de estudios relativos a épocas anteriores al siglo XX; pero confío en que algunas de las contribuciones que nos llegaron y que abordaron estos periodos podrán incluirse —con mayor tiempo— en futuros números de la revista H-ART. A partir de algunos interrogantes que nos llegaron, vimos el interés de incluir tanto artículos de investigación más extensos sobre el tema del dossier, que hagan aportaciones pormenorizadas en lo teórico e histórico-artístico, así como estudios de caso más breves sobre obras y proyectos artísticos específicos donde se privilegia mayormente el material visual y una descripción analítica más sucinta del mismo, ya sea por quien haya producido el material plástico u otro comentarista. This book provides basic knowledge about the principles, roles, types and evaluation methods of antistatic and conductive textile materials, which are used for protection against charge dissipation, ...incendiary discharge, intense electrostatic fields and electromagnetic interference (EMI). It also discusses the basic properties of different types of conductive fibers and filaments and the manufacturing processes of conductive textile products. The immobilization of biocatalysts or other bioactive components often means their transformation from a soluble to an insoluble state by attaching them to a solid support material. Various types of ...fibrous textiles from both natural and synthetic sources have been studied as suitable support material for biocatalysts immobilization. Strength, inexpensiveness, high surface area, high porosity, pore size, availability in various forms, and simple preparation/functionalization techniques have made textiles a primary choice for various applications. This led to the concept of a new domain called-biocatalysts immobilization on textiles. By addressing the growing advancement in biocatalysts immobilization on textile, this study provides the first detailed overview on this topic based on the terms of preparation, progress, and application in wastewater treatment. The fundamental reason behind the necessity of biocatalysts immobilized textile as well as the potential preparation methods has been identified and discussed. The overall progress and performances of biocatalysts immobilized textile have been scrutinized and summarized based on the form of textile, catalytic activity, and various influencing factors. This review also highlighted the potential challenges and future considerations that can enhance the pervasive use of such immobilized biocatalysts in various sustainable and green chemistry applications.

Archaeologists and textile historians bring together 16 papers to investigate the production, trade and consumption of textiles in Scandinavia and across parts of northern and Mediterranean Europe ...throughout the medieval period. Archaeological evidence is used to demonstrate the existence or otherwise of international trade and to examine the physical characteristics of textiles and their distribution in order to understand who was producing, using and trading them and what they were being used for. Historical evidence, mainly textual, is employed to link textile names to places, numbers and prices and thus provide an appreciation of changing economics, patterns of distribution and the organisation of trade.
