“No one is born a policeman” – wrote Miklós Réde(i)y at the beginning of the 20th century, who did a lot to ensure that through his books and articles on police and law enforcement well-prepared ...police officers were performing their duties in Hungary. Just as many 19th- and 20th-century law enforcement experts picked up pens to make literature available for the education of police officers, inspectors, detectives, and investigators. The textbooks required for the specialized law enforcement courses were drawn first from the books on police subjects already published and after 1922 from works written by eminent legal experts and scholars researching police science who were the teachers of the course and were available to both students of the specialized courses and the officers performing enforcement in practice.

Objective To analyze the course design and training outcomes of cochlear implant special training course, and to explore the training methods for otology microsurgeons to master cochlear implant ...technology. Methods Among the 24 students, 33% are senior (8/24), 17% are deputy senior (4/24), 50% are intermediate(12/24), In terms of Degree distribution,58% are PhD, 25% are master and 17% are bachelor. Totally 92%(22/24) of the trainees believed that the training was very helpful for surgery, and but 8%(2/24) of them thought the outcome of the training was not so helpful. The most helpful part of the training is the facial nerve recess approach technology. The highest score for participating in the class was the training method of cochlear implant surgery, which could be improved constantly in accordance with the training method when back to their own hospitals. As for the organization and course setting, the teaching method of step by step scored the highest for the, followed by the course setting including the
Under the framework of Directed Motivational Currents (DMCs), the present study aimed to explore the motivational dynamics of Chinese tertiary-level EFL learners' English learning and to identify the ...possible parameters that influence Chinese EFL learners' DMC-typed motivational states in their English learning. Data were collected from 10 focal Chinese tertiary-level EFL learners through reflective journal, trajectory equivalent modeling and semi-structured interview over a two-semester-long IELTS training course. The collected data were examined with thematic analysis and the findings indicated that: (1) Chinese tertiary-level EFL learners experienced the clear DMC-typed motivational surges during their journey of English learning; (2) Chinese tertiary-level EFL learners' DMCs states were affected by various contextual factors which could be examined under three major themes, namely important others, instructional elements, and the exam pressure. The findings not only add to the literature on the validity of DMCs construct in the Chinese EFL context, but offer implications about how to facilitate the DMC-typed motivations in the classroom language instruction.
Background: In recent years, virtual education has emerged as one of the important applications of new information and communication technologies in the world. This study was conducted to determine ...the effect of the virtual training course of nutrition programs in the Health System Evolution Plan on the knowledge and practice of primary health workers in Mashhad, Iran based on the Kirkpatrick Model. Methods: This cross-sectional study was performed on 94 primary health workers in Health Center No. 1 in Mashhad. The sample size was calculated at 45 subjects and the samples were selected using a random number table. According to the staff training criteria, the training course with special conditions was held virtually based on the approved lesson plan. During the course, based on the Kirkptrick Model, a researcher-made questionnaire included four levels (reaction, learning, behavior, and results) was completed and scored based on a Likert scale. The data were analyzed in SPSS software (version 21).Results: The mean score of the content quality of the course was 4.61±0.45; it means that the participants were very satisfied with the quality of the course content. The mean score of the presentation of the course was 4.5±0.6 indicatings the presentation of the course was very good. The mean score obtained from the course exam was 85.9±10.3. Besides, the mean score of skills acquired by the subjects was 4.75±0.34 which is considered a very good level. The mean score of the job performance of subjects was 4.55±0.54 which is also a very good level. Conclusion: The in-service training course of nutrition programs in the Health System Evolution Plan was effective on the knowledge and performance of primary health workers in Mashhad.
PIPAC is a novel mode of intraperitoneal drug delivery for patients with peritoneal cancer (PC). PIPAC is a safe treatment with promising oncological results. Therefore, a structured training program ...is needed to maintain high standards and to guarantee safe implementation.
An international panel of PIPAC experts created by means of a consensus meeting a structured 2-day training course including essential theoretical content and practical exercises. For every module, learning objectives were defined and structured presentations were elaborated. This structured PIPAC training program was then tested in five courses.
The panel consisted of 12 experts from 11 different centres totalling a cumulative experience of 23 PIPAC courses and 1880 PIPAC procedures. The final program was approved by all members of the panel and includes 12 theoretical units (45 min each) and 6 practical units including dry-lab and live surgeries. The panel finalized and approved 21 structured presentations including the latest evidence on PIPAC and covering all mandatory topics. These were organized in 8 modules with clear learning objectives to be tested by 12 multiple-choice questions. Lastly, a structured quantifiable (Likert scale 1–5) course evaluation was created.
The new course was successfully tested in five courses with 85 participants. Mean overall satisfaction with the content was rated at 4.79 (±0.5) with at 4.71 (±0.5) and at 4.61 (±0.7), respectively for course length and the balance between theory and practice.
The proposed PIPAC training program contains essential theoretical background and practical training enabling the participants to safely implement PIPAC.
The literature on the appropriate education criteria for training young emergency responders in developing countries is scarce. A gap exists between general education and emergency responder ...education regarding the criteria used for designing education courses and evaluating students. This study reviewed the criteria used at the University of Fire Prevention and Fighting in Vietnam. Although the university had used Bloom’s taxonomy, one of the well-known evaluation criteria for general education programs, in addition to the professional criteria for emergency management, only the bottom three levels of the taxonomy were considered. The authors designed a new training course to prepare and conduct landslide rescue exercises, and applied all six levels of Bloom’s taxonomy to evaluate students’ performance and responses. The course included lectures, an exercise, and a hot debriefing session for 52 third-year students. Consideration of all levels of Bloom’s taxonomy enabled the identification of differences in learning performance between exercise participants and observers among the students. The evaluation results based on the general and professional education criteria differed regarding the performance of students with work experience. This study showed that the full use of Bloom’s taxonomy could help improve firefighters’ training courses. Assessing students from different perspectives using both general and professional education evaluation criteria is important for measuring students’ diverse abilities.
The 2nd China Vaccinology Integrated Innovation & Teaching Development Conference was held in Sun Yat-sen University, Shenzhen, 18-19, November 2023. Over 200 participants in the field of Vaccinology ...gathered together to address challenges and issues relevant to vaccine education and training courses, research, and public health programs in China. The conference themed "Promoting the Integrated and Innovative Development of Vaccinology through Collective Efforts." The conference was organized by the China Association of Vaccine (CAV) and hosted by Vaccinology Education Professional Committee of CAV, and School of Public Health (Shenzhen), Sun Yat-sen University. The study is focused on revealing and analysis of external influences that affect the process of teaching the Russian language for specific purposes - business/professional communication to bilingual ...learners. The analysis is correlated with the description of external factors that cause a shift of emphasis from teaching the language of profession to teaching business communication. This comprehensive analysis makes it possible to build a uniform teaching course model based on a holistic approach. The study defines the general strategy of training, formulates tasks and outlines approaches to their solution, as well as delineates the contours of a branched out multi-component practical training course.

Strain elastography as used in EUS (EUS-real-time tissue elastography RTE) is a qualitative technique and provides information on the relative stiffness between one tissue and another. This article ...reviews the principles, technique, and interpretation of EUS-RTE in various organs. It includes information on how to optimize the technique as well as a discussion on pitfalls and artifacts. We also refer to the article describing RTE using conventional ultrasound transducers.
