AbstractCities as a living environment play a significant role in creating satisfaction, they indeed shape human's lifestyle and determine their life quality. Regarding the quality of man-made ...environments not only encourages them to cooperate, but also induces a sense of satisfaction among individuals. Urban growth and rapid urban expansion have caused various crises in terms of urban life including environmental challenges and declining the quality of urban environs. Following increased urbanization in our country and rapid changing space for several reasons in terms of urban texture, the quality of urban environs has seriously declined. When it comes to environmental quality, the emphasis is still over construction and physical shape. The paper tends to measure and zone the physical environment quality of the middle texture of Tabriz city based on recent statistics and data. The research method is based on the objectives applying descriptive- analytical in terms of its methodology. During first steps of sample collection, we initially measure the quality of urban environment through field studies preparing and filling out some questionnaires. And in the second step, we apply softwares including: EXCEL, CHOICE, EXPERT to measure the data and finally apply ARC GIS to display the research findings. However the yields of central tissue zoning of Tabriz reflect that 5.77% of regional area is in an unfavorable condition, 19.38% favorable condition and 74.83% is in moderate utility status.

Climate change and the high proportion of private motorised transport leads to a high exposure of the urban population to environmental stressors such as particulate matter, nitrogen oxides, noise, ...and heat. The few fixed measuring stations for these stressors do not provide information on how they are distributed throughout the urban area and what influence the local urban structure has on hot and cold spots of pollution. In the measurement campaign “UmweltTracker” with 95 participants (cyclists, pedestrians), data on the stressors were collected
via
mobile sensors. The aim was to design and implement an application to analyse the heterogeneous data sets. In this paper we present a prototype of a visualisation and analysis application based on the Unity Game Engine, which allowed us to explore and analyse the collected data sets and to present them on a PC as well as in a VR environment. With the application we were able to show the influence of local urban structures as well as the impact of the time of day on the measured values. With the help of the application, outliers could be identified and the underlying causes could be investigated. The application was used in analysis sessions as well as a workshop with stakeholders.
This review describes the changes produced by the invasión of the
urban environment into the natural habitat of triatomines, especially
Panstrongylus geniculatus , known vectors of Chagas' disease.
...Changes in habitat are described and the colonization of domestic
environments by triatomines, as well as the importance of these changes
and their impact on transmission of Chagas' disease. Some
measures are proposed to limit the presence of triatomines in urban
dwellings
The author describes the theme of how great fires were instrumental in the creation of new urban developments in the early modern period. In Zagreb, for instance, very few buildings were made of ...fireproof materials. Most of the city’s buildings were made of timber and rooftops with wooden frames covered with wooden planks, tiles, or straw. The greatest fires in Zagreb communities occurred in the years 1624, 1645, 1674, 1706, and 1731. Threat of fire affected the spatial dispersion of the population and the construction of new streets with canals, which provided water for extinguishing fires. Due to a new building style which sought to use fireproof materials, cities established municipal brickyards. In order to have a fire alert system, cities also hired night watchmen, who appear in historical records as early as the seventeenth century.
The variability of surface heat flux depends strongly on the materials heat absorption and storage rates. During summer days, the temperature in the materials and long-wave radiation from the surface ...were measured together with surface long-wave radiation. atmospheric and solar radiation etc. Among materials, asphalt slabs absorb highest radiation energy, and increase their temperature. Eventually, they radiate heat as high as 700W/m2 higher than that of concrete slabs. In addition, the heat absorbed during daytime is released into the atmosphere. And the radiation energy is almost absorbed by absorber (e. g. water vaper and carbon dioxide) at lower atmosphere.
