This study ...uses the R & D method (research and development). The results of this study indicate that practicality in the use of application products is really good, practical, and efficient. The findings obtained from this study are in the form of an athlete’s physical test data processing application that makes it easier for the trainer to process the results of physical test data performed by the athlete, this application uses Microsoft visual basic 6.0 programming. The implications of the results of this study are to assist trainers in processing data from the physical tests conducted by the trainers to their athletes, so that the trainers can be helped in processing data in a practical and efficient manne.
Interpretive Structural Modeling (ISM) is a technique to establish the interrelationships between elements of interest in a specific domain through experts’ knowledge of the context of the elements. ...This technique has been applied in numerous domains and the list continues to grow due to its simplistic concept, while sustainability has taken the lead. The partially automated or manual application of this technique has been prone to errors as witnessed in the literature due to a series of mathematical steps of higher-order computing complexity. Therefore, this work proposes to develop an end-to-end graphical software, SmartISM, to implement ISM technique and MICMAC (Matrice d’Impacts Croisés Multiplication Appliquée á un Classement (cross-impact matrix multiplication applied to classification)), generally applied along with ISM to classify variables. Further, a scoping review has been conducted to study the applications of ISM in the previous studies using Denyer and Tranfield’s (2009) framework and newly developed SmartISM. For the development of SmartISM, Microsoft Excel software has been used, and relevant algorithms and VBA (Visual Basic for Applications) functions have been illustrated. For the transitivity calculation the Warshall algorithm has been used and a new algorithm reduced conical matrix has been introduced to remove edges while retaining the reachability of variables and structure of digraph in the final model. The scoping review results demonstrate 21 different domains such as sustainability, supply chain and logistics, information technology, energy, human resource, marketing, and operations among others; numerous types of constructs such as enablers, barriers, critical success factors, strategies, practices, among others, and their numbers varied from 5 to 32; number of decision makers ranged between 2 to 120 with a median value of 11, and belong to academia, industry, and/or government; and usage of multiple techniques of discourse and survey for decision making and data collection. Furthermore, the SmartISM reproduced results show that only 29 out of 77 studies selected have a correct application of ISM after discounting the generalized transitivity incorporation. The outcome of this work will help in more informed applications of this technique in newer domains and utilization of SmartISM to efficiently model the interrelationships among variables.

The test method used is the Black Box Method, the results of the execution are through testing and checking the functionality of the software. the design of the goods management information system is operated by processing goods data by inputting, editing, deleting and displaying reports (reports) based on the Visual Basic 10 application. Test results The interface-based goods management application system helps the admin in inputting incoming and outgoing goods data and managing and regulate the release and entry of goods.
The Kainji hydropower station is a seven turbo-alternator station that for many years served as the base load supply for the Nigerian power grid. Over 200,000 pieces of data about the performance of ...the machines were used to estimate values of the failure and repair rates for each machine and a Markov steady-state model of the plant was constructed to determine the probability output of the turbines. This result showed that Kaplan turbine (KT) 12 is prone to failure compared to any other KT unit in the hydropower plant. Also, the clusters of probability that define the system state due to the different output capacities of the units show that the hydropower plant has not performed to its maximum capacity, further evaluation shows that 60% of the KT machine units are operating which is consistent with the observed robustness of the output. The model not only conforms to observations but reasonably provide a means of studying the effects of different actions that may be taken to improve the performance of hydropower plant.

Os sistemas de drenagem urbanos sustentáveis incorporam ...técnicas de infiltração, evaporação e retenção do escoamento superficial com o objetivo de mimetizar o ciclo hidrológico pré-urbanização. Este trabalho adapta e aplica a metodologia de eventos de chuva característicos (ECC) a partir de uma série histórica de dados pluviométricos para simulação do comportamento hidrológico de poços de infiltração no município de São Carlos/SP. O método ECC busca auxiliar os profissionais que trabalham com dispositivos de drenagem a melhor entender o comportamento desses em um cenário de chuva real. Foram determinados ECC para seis categorias de tempo de retorno, utilizando os dados da estação automática do Instituto Nacional de Meteorologia (INMET) através de rotina de cálculos programados em Visual Basic for Applications (VBA). Os ECC são uma forma matematicamente confiável de escolha de um evento pluviométrico histórico para simulação do comportamento de dispositivos de drenagem urbana mais sustentável.
Purpose. This study aims to develop a new teaching module to illustrate the arithmetic systems of Elliptic Curve Cryptography, a powerful yet simple algorithm for information security, by exploring ...the capability of the Visual Basic Applications of Microsoft Excel in user friendly way. Methodology. The research is performed using research and development approach, which is divided into five steps utilizing VBA features of Microsoft Excel. It starts with modeling arithmetic in Microsoft Excel spreadsheet, then testing the validity through calculation and setup of the actual arithmetic of Elliptic Curve Cryptography using VBA Excel, before performing the test of the VBA application and finally visualizes the results in graphical mode. Findings. Novel teaching software based on of Microsoft Excel Visual Basic Applications is produced that is able to simulate arithmetic system behind Elliptic Curve Cryptography in an easy way for students. Originality. To the best of the authors’ knowledge, this is the first simulation based on Excel VBA to illustrate the arithmetic systems of Elliptic Curve Cryptography for teaching purposes. Practical value. In general, mastering cryptography will need a steep learning curve; however, using Microsoft Excel as a simulation platform will accelerate learning. The main practical value is the ease of Microsoft Excel, which will turn cryptography learning which was commonly very difficult for student to become easier and user friendly.
In the evolving landscape of cybersecurity, the prevalence of malicious Visual Basic for Applications (VBA) macros embedded in Office documents presents a formidable challenge. These macros, while ...integral to automation, have become potent vehicles for cyber-attacks, necessitating advanced detection techniques. This study introduces a comprehensive framework employing P-Code Analysis and XGBoost, a leading-edge machine learning algorithm, to address this issue. The proposed solution synergizes static analysis of VBA source code with dynamic P-Code structural analysis, enhanced by Natural Language Processing (NLP) techniques for effective feature extraction. By integrating these methodologies, our model adeptly distinguishes between benign and malicious macros, achieving an unprecedented detection accuracy of 98.70% and an F1-score of 98.81% in rigorous testing environments. The core contribution of this research lies in its innovative approach to malicious macro detection, offering a robust framework that significantly improves upon existing methods. Additionally, the utilization of XGBoost for machine learning analysis introduces a novel application in cybersecurity defenses against macro-based threats. The results underscore the efficacy of combining P-Code analysis with machine learning for cybersecurity, marking a significant stride in the detection of sophisticated cyber threats. This study not only advances the domain of cybersecurity but also lays the groundwork for future research, advocating for the exploration of further optimizations and the adaptation of our model to combat evolving attack vectors. Solar energy is the resource used by off grid photovoltaic generation systems, which are used exclusively in rural areas because the installation of the electrical grid is costly or technically complex.
In the Matlab/Simulink environment, off grid photovoltaic systems have been designed, which are composed of an array of photovoltaic modules, charge controllers, storage systems and single-phase inverters that together will allow knowing the behavior of electric power generation through solar photovoltaic energy. In addition, a maximum power point tracking (MPPT) algorithm was developed to obtain the peak power of the photovoltaic array and a discrete integral proportional control was incorporated for the charging and discharging of the batteries. Finally, a sizing tool was designed and developed through Excel Macros and Visual Basic, which facilitated the input of the different parameters and the obtaining of the results for the implementation of the photovoltaic systems.
