Purpose: This study aimed to investigate the impact of social working environment and secured working environment on job satisfaction in Lebanese SMEs, with a particular focus on the mediating effect ...of job satisfaction
Theoretical Framework: A secure working environment is an essential aspect of the workplace that contributes to employee job satisfaction. A secure working environment is free from threats and hazards, and employees feel safe and secure while working. A secure working environment is vital in enhancing job satisfaction among employees.
Design/Methodology/Approach: The study utilized a sample of 350 respondents working in SMEs in Lebanon and employed Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) to test the hypothesized relationships between the variables
Findings: The findings of this study revealed that both social working environment and secured working environment had a significant positive impact on job satisfaction. Specifically, a supportive and friendly social working environment and a secured working environment were found to be associated with higher levels of job satisfaction among employees. Furthermore, the study also found that job satisfaction partially mediated the relationship between social working environment and job satisfaction, as well as the relationship between secured working environment and job satisfaction.
Research, Practical & Social Implications: This suggests that job satisfaction plays a crucial role in explaining the relationship between these variables. These findings have important implications for SMEs in Lebanon and other contexts. For example, employers should prioritize creating a social working environment that fosters teamwork, collaboration, and positive relationships among employees, as well as a secured working environment that prioritizes safety and security. These factors can significantly contribute to employee job satisfaction and overall well-being.
Originality/Value: This research is original and unique and it contributes to the field of Lebanon.

The aim of this study was to examine the interrelation between teachers' proactive strategies and perceived teacher–working environment fit that would be mediated by the socio-contextual burnout ...experience. Altogether 2310 Finnish teachers completed the study's survey. The results indicate that teachers can learn the kinds of strategies that allow them to reduce burnout and construct a better working environment fit. Both the learning and use of the strategies is highly embedded in a school's social interactions.
•Proactive strategies are beneficial in reducing teacher burnout.•Both self- and co-regulation strategies are key to successful problem solving.•The effect of strategies on perceived fit is mediated by burnout experience.
In this paper, a concept of health-promoting leadership is presented that focuses on the interaction between working environment and leadership behavior. Seven key aspects define health-promoting ...leadership: health awareness, low workload, control, reward, community, fairness, and values. The self-assessment version of the questionnaire was used in this study for the first time. Analyzing the data of 299 leaders, the results showed satisfactory reliability and validity coefficients for all dimensions. Structural equation modeling indicates that all dimensions can be assigned on a main factor of health-promoting leadership. The questionnaire offers two main advantages: first, it is possible to measure health-promoting behavior strategies of leaders and thus show their leadership potential. Second, the instrument allows analyzing critical aspects in the working environment and further helps establish basic conditions in the workplace, where a health-promoting workplace can be created.
Sketching on the Social Exchange Theory (SET), the present study aims to investigate the direct relationship between training and development, work environment, and job satisfaction with employee ...retention. The contingent role of transformational leadership was also analysed under the Situational Leadership Theory (SLT). Accordingly, we collected data from 287 employees of SMEs in northern China by employing a convenience sampling approach, exhibiting a response rate of 57.40 percent. The Partial Least Square-Structural Equation Modelling (PLS-SEM) analysis was then run to test the proposed hypotheses. The findings revealed a significant positive impact of training and development, work environment, and job satisfaction on employee retention. However, no moderating effect of transformational leadership was indicated on their direct relationship. This study has enriched the literature on employee retention and the leadership arena. To the best of the authors’ knowledge, there is no prior evidence concerning the study’s integrated relationship of the continuous variables. The implications and limitations were finally expressed at the end of this manuscript.
Background: The fact that quality health care and positive patient outcomes depend largely on good nursing care reveals the importance of improving the working environment of nurses. Objective: This ...study was conducted to investigate the extent to which the healthy working environment standards developed for nurses in Turkey were implemented in healthcare institutions and the perception of nurses concerning the importance and priority of main standards in creating a healthy working environment. Methods: The sample of the study consisted of 550 clinical nurses providing direct patient care in the surgical, internal medicine and intensive care units of three education research hospitals affiliated with the Ministry of Health in Izmir. A total of 309 nurses, who accepted to participate in the study and had worked in their current institution for at least one year, were included in the sample. The Individual and Work Characteristics Form and three forms prepared by the researchers taking into account the healthy work environment standards were used as data collection tools. Data were evaluated by descriptive statistics, non-parametric one-way analysis of variance, and the Mann-Whitney U test with the Bonferroni correction using SPSS v. 22.0. Written permission was obtained from the hospitals where the research was to be conducted, and the ethics committee of the university approved the study. Results: While the implementation of all of the standards had an average of 2.07 (0.49), the main standard of “Effective Management and Leadership” had the lowest average at 1.76 (0.60) and “Team Collaboration, Communication, Appreciation and Recognition” had an average of 2.27 (0.63). “Nurse Workload” was considered to be the most important Standard by 80.3% of the nurses and most prioritized by 70.3%. It was staed that the main standard of “Suitable Physical Conditions and Adequate Tools-Equipment” was implemented at a lower level in intensive care units. Conclusion: The results of this study showed that the clinical nurses considered that all the standards of healthy working environment were implemented at a low to moderate level in their institutions.
This research aims to identify gaps in existing research to improve the quality of teacher performance in the future. To achieve this objective, the study poses two research questions. Firstly, the ...research aims to analyze the influence of leadership in Islamic boarding schools (madrasah) and the working environment on teacher performance, both separately and collectively. Secondly, the research aims to identify and analyze variables that have a dominant influence in this context. These questions will be directed to respondents who have knowledge or understanding relevant to the research theme, which includes the leadership of madrasah principals, the working environment, and teacher performance. Based on the foregoing description, the preliminary results of this research indicate that leadership in the madrasah and the working environment significantly influence teacher performance. In other words, the more effective the leadership in the madrasah and the supportive working environment, the higher the level of teacher performance that can be achieved. Additionally, the research suggests that the role of madrasah leadership has a more dominant influence on teacher performance compared to other factors considered in this study. This research is a quantitative study with a survey approach. The data used are primary data obtained directly from 86 respondents through questionnaires. The findings of this study confirm that both madrasah leadership and the working environment have a simultaneous and partial influence, with madrasah leadership being the more dominant factor affecting teacher performance.
The SMEs represent more than 95% of the companies in Latin America, generate 72% of employment and 50% of the GDP, but they still have serious deficiencies in achieving sustained development. In ...Peru, economic growth was growing up with the growth of the construction sector and with it the investment in hardware companies.
