    Faecal coliform dispersion in the waters of the Eastern part of the Gulf of Trieste (Northern Adriatic) during the years 1981-1985 was studied. Most of the sampling stations in the recreational areas ... gave bacteriological values which comply with the interim sanitary quality criteria. The impact of the main outfalls of the principal sewage system in the region (towns of Koper, Piran, Izola) on sanitary quality could be detected approximately 400-800 m from these pollution sources. The influence of other small direct sewage discharges was limited in time and space.
