  • Frequency calibration of piezoelectric sensors with a ball drop source [Elektronski vir]
Rus, Janez, 1993- ; Rus, Vid ; Požar, Tomaž
In nondestructive testing, the PZT (piezoelectric) sensors, positioned on the specimen surface, are often used to detect ultrasonic waves distributed in the material. For a reliable determination of ... the absolute amplitude value of the surface displacement, the sensor transfer function needs to be measured with a calibration process. For PZT sensor calibration, repeatable, frequency broadband, intensive-enough ultrasonic wave source are required. They should also have theoretically derivable force history. In this paper, three most common ultrasonic wave sources are described. Furthermore, we experimentally realized a simple frequency calibration of a Glaser-type displacement PZT sensor with a ball drop source.
