    Apart from occupational diseases injuries at work are the most important negative indicator of the health status of the employees. Since they conform to the same biological laws as diseases, they can ... be evaluated by the epidemiological method, which provides the possibillty of discovering causes and monitoring them like other diseases. The article gives data an injuries atwork in the Republic of Slovenia in 2000 as a whole, and individually in tenselected economic branches. The aim of the analysis is not only a statisticsurvey of injuries at work, but to identify the main causes of injuries in an individual economic branch, and then based on the results, to suggest appropriate measures and activities on all levels - from the employee at his working place to the company management - in order to reduce or preventinjuries at work. Compared to the previous year and based on the analysis, the established trend of injuries at work is decreasing.
