    ATP bioluminescence is a fast method by which cleaning efficiency is measured because it measures ATP not only from microorganisms but also from product residues. It is used in various industrial ... plants and catering. In the presence of ATP, the enzyme luciferase produces light, that is, energy. The amount of light (energy) produced is measured by a luminometer and expressed in RLU (Relative Light Units) units. Since the data on the use of this method are scarce and insufficiently researched, the aim of the study was to investigate how effective the cleaning agent is in destroying bacterial biofilm on ceramic tiles in vitro. The active substance of the cleaning agent used is polyhexamethylene biguanide hydrochloride (0.001 g/100 g). The 24-hour biofilm of Staphylococcus aureus, Salmonella Typhimurium, and Listeria monocytogenes was created on ceramic tiles, with dimensions of 2.5 x 2.5 cm, and after that, the tiles were treated with working concentrations of cleaning agent for 10 minutes. After rinsing the tiles, the RLU was measured using a luminometer and determined by CFU/cm2 by planting ten-fold dilutions on the Mueller-Hinton agar and counting the number of increased colonies. Both concentrations of cleaning agent proved to be effective, and the greatest reduction in the number of bacteria in the case of RLU values is visible in the example of the S. aureus biofilm plate, while the largest reduction in terms of the total number of bacteria is visible in the example of the L. monocytogenes biofilm plate. The weakest effectiveness of the cleaning agent was demonstrated in the example of S. Typhimurium in both cases. ATP bioluminescence shows good results in the detection of biofilm in all three tested bacteria, and after treatment with a cleaning agent, it shows a good reduction in value.
