  • Nosečnost in porod pri kronični nevrološki bolnici = Pregnant and childbirth in chronic neurological patients
    Tul, Nataša
This paper presents the course of pregnancy and childbirth in patients with multiple sclerosis (MS) and myasthenia gravis (MG) and the influence of pregnancy on the course of these diseases. During ... pregnancy, MS is usually stable or even improves, while exacerbations often occur during the postpartumperiod. Uncomplicated MS does not have a negative impact on the course of pregnancy, childbirth and health of the newborn. The course of MG during pregnancy is unpredictable; premature childbirth and/or fetal growth delay occur in 40% of all cases, while 20% of newborns suffer from transient MG. This paper also briefly describes the course of pregnancy in patients withFriedrich's ataxia, Guillain-Barre's syndrome, chronic inflammatory demyelinating polineuropathy and diabetic neuropathy.
