  • Doktrinarna izhodišča endodontskega zdravljenja = Guidelines for endodontic treatment
    Klemenc, Franek
The principles of endodontic treatment have not changed for many years. However, changes in certain details have made the outcome of treatment even more predictable and successful. Endodontic therapy ... is conducted in three sessions. In the first session, the tooth is prepared for treatment with a procedure called the endodontic triad. Afterwards, the pulp chamberand canals are cleaned, disinfected, filled with medicaments and hermetically sealed. Thetoolh may not be left open during treatment, except in rare cases. The medicament must fill the canal but should not escape into the periapical region. On completion of endodontic therapy, the tooth crown must be restored as soon as possible to avoid microleakage. Prosthetic treatment should be delayed for at least six months, until the success of endodontic therapy can be verified by x-ray examination.
