  • Computer aided assembly planning: modeling and simulation with Petri nets

    In the planning phase of assembly system life-cycle, its main future properties are determined. The purpose of modelling and analysing is to obtain these properties as reliably as possible. The ... theory of Petry nets is used for modelling of the assembly systems and as a basis for simulation, so the Petri net model of the observed system can be used directly as a simulation model. A computer program for layout generation, modelling and simulation based on extended Petri ner theory was developed and implemented on a real example. It can be pointed out that the extended Petri net theory is a powerful tool for modelling and analysis of complex event driven systems characterised by concurrency and mutual exclusion.
