  • An Empirical analysis of determinants that cause cross-country differences in the size of government sector [Elektronski vir]

    The purpose of the analysis presented in the paper is to identify various economic, social, political, demographic and cultural factors that could shapethe differences in the size of government ... across countries and to verify the effect of those factors with the use of econometric analysis. The results of the analysis revealed that economic factors are more important in explaining the variation in the size of government consumption spending and the size of non-budgetary government, whereas political, social and cultural factors are more important in explaining the variation in the size of transferspending. Besides, the results also indicate, that the size budgetary government and the size of non-budgetary government move in the opposite direction.
