  • Editors' perceptions and attitudes towards professional competence, ethics and their understanding of journalism [Elektronski vir] : the case of Slovenia
Laban, Vesna ; Poler Kovačič, Melita
The paper presents the results of the first survey ever conducted in the Slovene mass media, researching the editorsć perceptions and attitudes towards professional competence, ethics and their ... understanding of journalism. The questionnaire has been sent to 121 recipients working in national and local, public and commercial, press and electronic media in Slovenia. What are the editors' views on professional journalistic competence? What are their views on professional journalism ethics, as well as on journalism roles and the nature of journalism? These are the questions the research deals with. The authors assume that editorsć views on professional journalistic competence and ethics as well as journalism roles and the nature of journalism depend on the type and expanse of media they are employed in as well as their attitudes towards journalism education. The presented research analysis supports the authors' assumption.
