  • Employee commitment: measurement equivalence tests across two points of time in different cultural contexts [Elektronski vir]
    Mesner-Andolšek, Dana ; Štebe, Janez
Understanding organisational commitment is important since it has both theoretical and practical implications. The emphasis of current analysis was to verify its measurement characteristics for the ... purpose of comparing of levels of commitment across two points in time (1997-2005) and seven countries(the US, the UK, West Germany and East Germany, Japan, Hungary and Slovenia). It is a prerequisite of meaningful comparisons across countries to first establish measurement equivalence of items that purport to measure same concepts in different countries. We follow standard estimation procedures, terminology and notations (Billiet, Welkenhuysen-Gybels, 2004). There is an indication that changes through time and differences among countries are substantive and not measurement artefacts, which is always a plausible alternative explanation if no such test is performed
